Wasabi used to be a great local sushi restaurant--afforable, tasty BYOB. However, over the last year the quality and service has significanly declined. The size of the sushi rolls is now much smaller, with much less fish. Also, the service has also become very poor. When the restaurant is busy, the waitstaff ignores you. Be prepared to refill your own drink and expect to wait more than 1 hour for your dinner to be served. It needs a new manager to get it back to how it was. I used to be a regular customer--some times a few visits a week. After the last few visits, I need to find a new sushi restaurant.

My family LOVES Wasabi, so much that they will soon be serving my wedding guests. So far, our favorite Sushi roll is the Eagles Roll...yum. Personally, I order the Sukiyaki every time I go. My fiance will get two Eagles rolls, I will get my hot pot, we split everything. Our total bill is usually under $25 for the two of us. The folks there remember everyone and do offer to keep your BYOB beverages for your return visit. They adore my children and always come over to play with them throughout dinner. You shoudl def give it a try!!

I'm curious if the reviewer Helen Z. that had the bugs in her soup reported this to the restaurant and how they handled it if she did? My experiences at Wasabi have always been pleasant. It's not serving remarkable sushi (have yet to find a place in the area that is), but the rolls are tasty and the service is always good.

I ordered chicken udon soup for take-out from Wasabi, and at first everything was fine, but 5 minutes into eating it, I found a little brown speck, which had little legs on it--I brushed it off and thought it was simply a spice. But, when four more similar creatures appeared, I realized the soup was filled with bugs galore.

In the past when I went to dine there, the service was very good and the servers were quite pleasant and cordial. My experience with the food at that time was quite good, but after this incident I will never return to Wasabi, and I do not recommend that anyone have their udon soup.

I've been eating Japanese food since 1974...yes, I'm old but that's not the point! (-: This is a great restaurant with excellent quality food and an attentive staff who works to please. Like another reviewer I've eaten sushi throughout the US, Europe and Asia. Wasabi rates with any of the top places I've experienced.

The grilled squid was excellent ($8). They have an extensive menu with a huge variety of rolls. Alas, to suit American palates many of these are deep fried or covered with sweet/fatty mayonnaise based sauces. But there is excellent sashimi priced at 3 decent pcs for $5. The uni was delicious ($3.75 per pc). Dinner for two including tip was $97, but understand that my wife and I order expensive things that are expensive everywhere.

Out of state visitors note, this is a BYOB restaurant with a decent selection of Japanese libations available about .5 miles away at Laurel Liquors on Rt 38. There is no corkage fee charged.

Highly recommended!

My wife and I am sushi fanatics, I have been all around the world and always tried sushi and sashimi in well known Japanese Restaurants located London, Paris, Moscow, even in Tokyo. But this Mount Laurel Wasabi beats them all in my opinion, because first the fantastic friendly staff, and the chef comes out from the kitchen and asks if every thing ok, not only to the tables but to the people are waiting for take away. The taste of the food are the same to the well known famous restaurants the difference is they do not charge you as much.Wasabi became our first choce when ever we dine out.

I live in Mt. Laurel and frequent Wasabi every week. Amy,who greets you is wonderful. Knows your name, will store your bottle of wine or saki, (its a BYOB) so bring it with you!

The sushi bar is wonderful as well as the many booths. Love the color scheme of orange and black, very oriental.

Favorite things to order on a date, try the Sweetheart roll, shaped like a heart and tastes great! Ask also for Earl's roll, excellent, and make sure Earl gives you the red hot sauce if you like spicy on both the Earl roll and Sweethear roll! Yum-ooooooooooooo

Enjoy, I have for years!

My girlfriend and I found Wasabi by chance. We were looking for something new to try, came across Wasabi, and we were immediately and pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and quality of food. The sushi is made fast and fresh and is extremely delicious. The decor is bright and inviting and the staff is very warm, friendly, and always ready to serve. I enthusiastically recommend Wasabi for people who love Sushi and Japanese cuisine or for someone looking for something new to try and are ready to be wowed!

My boyfriend and I found Wasabi after trying to go to all the sushi places in the area. I haven't gone to a new one since we've gone there. The decor is very bright and inviting, the service is always great, and the food is delicious. They give you hot towels before your meal, which is going a step above the other sushi restaurants in the area. All in all, a great date place or somewhere to bring your friends.

The service here is marvelous. They make you feel so welcome and that your patronage is truly appreciated. In addition, the decor is lovely and they have a great menu.

Portions are very generous and the food is delicious.
