I found this Handyman company on the BBB website and glad I did. When I called they answered the phone & was able to give me a quote based on time & materials. After answering a few questions they estimated my project for $450 labor plus materials right over the phone for my roof leak to my ceiling. They sent me a very good carpenter he said he would take less time then the quote. It turned out to be $388.00 with materials. the ceiling looks like new, I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good honest contractor!

We used HomePro today for Drywall repairs siding & water damage, painting, tile repair, pressure washing & more. After speaking with Chris yesterday he sent me two craftsman & came this morning to help organize. We had a long list to get home ready to sell for our open house tomorrow. By 2pm he brought in another finish carpenter/painter to make sure we finished & by 530 pm all was done & the work was flawless.

Jan 2010 I hired Chris Dandridge of HomePro Services to repair my chimney chase and the related. We agreed on specific materials to be used including Hardie panel. Original quote was roughly x amount of dollars. I gave him first half to begin the work. Thinking the job was half done I gave his crew the second half of the monies owed. Thereafter Chris's crew found additional issues with the project. He asked me for $600 additional for labor and materials. He also convinced me to insulate my chimney although it did not have it to begin with. I agreed. The job was supposed to take 2-3 days and Chris met me the first or second day in my backyard to discuss the damages found. We agreed then on the additional costs. A day or so went by. Since my first encounter in the backyard with Chris discussing the change order, he never came back to the property to check his employee's work or walk through with me. I came home on that Saturday to find his crew packing up and cleaning up the project. At that point I went to see the quality of work myself since and was dissatisfied with the service. I found that his crew damaged part of my slab foundation and attempted to hide it. The trim job they did looked horrible and they did not line up any of the panels with each other so there were skewed lines of the T1-11 panel. The sealant job had many open channels for water to pass through to exposed wood behind. I attempted to call Chris on his cell phone but no answer. I called a couple of times. At that time his crew leader came to my door asking for the final payment of $600. I told them they would not receive that until Chris contacts me. The worker pulled out his phone, called Chris, and he immediately answered. Come to find out my contractor that I hired was out of the state and in Oklahoma celebrating either his birthday or his mother's birthday. Don't remember the specifics but do remember he was there for a birthday. At this point I told Chris I would take photos and send them via email. Chris called me later to tell me he chewed out his employee for the work and we needed to come to an agreement on the phone. Being a passive guy I allowed his crew to cover up the inconsistencies with additional wood and trim. He graciously thanked me for helping him out of the jam instead of reworking the entire project again. They came back out Sunday and covered up the inconsistencies. I allowed them to use a bag of concrete I had in my possession to repair the slab foundation so that it did not come out of their pockets. I gave them the remaining balance roughly $600 and 2.5 years have passed pain free until 2 weeks ago. I had to open up the chimney chase for an unrelated issue and my heart dropped. I found out that Chris's crew did not use the Hardie panel as discussed and was also noted on both my quote and final invoice to use Hardie. I also noticed that his crew used paper-backed fiberglass insulation which is not to be used in combustible areas. The insulation was not suspended with staples or wire and the insulation has fallen onto my firebox. His framing of the studs were not to code. He did not properly tie the wall frame to the slab either. At that point I stopped looking. I called Chris to explain and he told me we agreed verbally in my backyard to use cheaper materials while keeping the initial quote to help me offset the $600 change order. I don't recall that nor do I have a signed copy of that. He denies my claim and we agreed to take it to court. I also have all documents of emails, copies of checks, and lots of pictures, etc.

My problem now is I have tried to have contractors come to my residence to bid and none of them will quote the repairs because they have no clue what else is messed up due to Chris and don't want to be held accountable for his issues. He created a fire hazard in my home as I have been using this fireplace in the last 2.5 years and the lives of my family were at stake.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIS SO-CALLED CONTRACTOR.

Business Response:

Mr Nagel. We are always willing to resolve any reasonable issue. Your unreasonable demands have caused any possible court action in your city & county to deny your lawsuit on my company, as well as any Better Business Bureau support or any other regulatory agency. The fact is you notified me of your final punch list, we immediately performed to your specifications & you paid us for our services. The guarantee period lapsed years ago. You approved all materials used on your project & you were 100% aware of all aspects of your project day in & day out. Through all of your demands & pickyness my staff diligently serviced your every demand in sub zero temperatures to try and make you satisfied because you made it clear to everyone your difficult demands would be met before you pay anyone. We work with that same goal everyday. I as a 25yr honest businessman with a pristine reputation have been willing to listen to any reasonable resolution to any legitimate issue you may have. Although you have chosen to threaten me with legal action since the only time you called me & therefore I have had to lawyer up & let the legal system dictate if you are due any thing or not. Unfortunately no one has supported your situation. You continued to use the same story posted on the internet and if there was any truth to your fabricated story you might be looked as credible but instead of you trying so hard to prove me wrong, I might have been willing to work with you, but since you are making this so hostile, it makes it near impossible to help you in any manner. To address you not being able to find a contractor to repair things we have previously done. Hogwash! This is simple, you specify the repairs you would like to do. A quote is given, you move forward. But what is happening Curtis, no one wants to do business with you. Most contractors would see you as a risky customer or impossible to satisfy! It serves no useful purpose to use the insider pages as a forum to mediate your issues with my company. I have a excellent reputation & will focus on getting positive ratings & reviews, I have experienced customers that are impossible to satisfy before, although when you see as many as 50 to 75 new customers a month as we do, we try our best & from time to time there's always someone that you can't satisfy when you deal with the masses.

Excellent service experience! We have used many different contractors/handymen over the years and have been disappointed too many times. It is refreshing to finally find a company we can depend on, one we can call "our handyman". In the past year or so we used Home Pro's three times for various different projects from insurance water damage, to remodeling our bathroom and another time to scrape that popcorn & wallpaper to install new textures to the ceilings & walls.

I recently hired Chris from HomePro Services to work on a project of directing my kitchen vent from inside to outside. As many other homes, my kitchen had a microwave that vented the cooking air inside the house. We cook quite some meat and spicy food at home, which had constantly created frustration on the sticky smell. I contacted three professionals including Chris. After discussing the issue over phone, Chris was the best professional in terms of responsiveness, honesty and professionalism. He did not make empty promises. He was very patient to answer all my questions. On the day of operations, Chris was right on time and gave me a courtesy call a few minutes before he arrived. He was very careful in preparation and spent time to think through what could be the best game plan. He was not just doing it. He was thinking thoroughly before starting to do. He explained his recommendation to me and my wife and started to work on the project right away after our approval. He went to Home Depot to buy necessary materials. He did a wonderful job. Most amazingly, he finished it below my budget and our initial estimation. He even honored me a coupon discount without even asking me to show him one. From this experience, my wife and I have made up our mind to use Chris as our primary home care guy from now on. I highly recommend him to you. The HomePro Servies was top notch, and Chris was awesome. I am sure you will have the same view with me after you work with him. Thank you. J Yamada.

Locating & selecting the one contractor that could handle our large varied list of skills needed to prepare our home for sale was our goal. We were referred by a neighbor that made it clear we should put Homepro on our short list. They took care of our tile repairs, grout & caulking of our tubs & showers, sink & faucet issues, electrical & fans repair & installs, we had all sorts of drywall cracks & texture/paint matching, water damage, door & weather strip adjustments & replacements and so on. The work was within the time frame & cost estimated based on our budget including some unforeseen problems. You deserve five stars...thanks!

I was completely impressed right from my first call. After 4 other contractors didn't answer their phones Home Pro did. They listened to my list of needs and asked me details about my projects to help me to anticipate the amount of time/costs right then & there. They answered every concern I had and put me at ease...This was too easy I thought. I was given a choice on an appointment, then the serviceman/Chris called me when he was in route. Needless to say I was compelled to write about their outstanding service when we had this level of standards. The repairs took less time than anticipated so I was able to add additional items to my list since my expected budget was more than met. Great job! Will do business again!
