Firstly, I should tell you I live on the UWS and yet I haul myself all the way down to the East Village to get my hair cut and highlighted at this salon, which my co-worker recommended to me when I moved to Manhattan from Connecticut. The place is intimate with only 3 chairs, but they provide so much for the money and the long commute. The staff is extremely friendly and my stylist is fantastic and gives me the cut and highlights I want. I recently had her give me a bob (scary considering my hair used to be longer than shoulder-length for YEARS!), but she did an amazing job and I get many compliments on it at the office (thanx Teresa!!!). I recommend this salon to all you finicky girls out there. And their prices won't break the bank btw!

I had just gotten a wack job haircut at a high-priced, snotty attitude place in Soho. Never going back to that place again! Two days later I happened to walk by this new place I'd never noticed before in the East Village that looked really cool. I walked in, the receptionist was very friendly, she offered me a drink (I picked sake over many other options that included -- get this -- a mini martini! maybe next time!) I got my hair 'fixed' by Jennifer. She asked me a few questions about what I wanted to get done, she listened, she took her time stopping along the way to ask if it's how I wanted it so far, and kept going until it was EXACTLY how I wanted it to be. Thanks Jennifer! And BTW, the other cool thing is that my cut cost less than half of what I paid in Soho just a couple days before. Definitely 2 thumbs upfor Jennifer and "Birds & Fellas"!!! Next time I get my haircut there, Im going for the martini!
