Ordered a cafafe for my coffee maker. It arrived and was faulty. I returned it at a cost to me of $10.20 and requested a replacement. Their reply, was that they saw no faults and that all others in stock were the same. This simply is not good enough. I'll go to Amazon next time. This process has taken about 3 weeks and wasted money and time!

We purchased a replacement blade for a Cuisinart Blender.

Great price. The shipping cost was far less than what the mfg would have charged us. Delivery time was acceptable. We received prompt alerts regarding the status of the order. Package was nicely packed with receipt and other documentation. I would do business again with this company.

Here's my experience:

1) My original online order never arrived. I called a month later, and they said it was never processed, and so they placed the order again.
2) When the product finally arrived, it was different than advertised. I called and they said they were going to send the missing part, and also some soda mix for the inconvenience.
3) The replacement part never arrived. The soda mix they sent me was already several months expired.
4) I called back and they said they were going to place the order again. Neither arrived.
5) The last time I called, the customer service rep basically told me to "f*** off": the order never existed, I couldn't talk to a supervisor, and he hung up on me.

I ordered a meat grinder from Gourmet Depot's website at the beginning of June, 2010. The website did not tell me that the item was out of stock, but after a week I got an call from Linda at GD to notify me of the problem. She promised that the item would be in within 10 days and that it would ship out by mid-June. When I had not heard from them in mid-June I emailed Linda to find out the status. She replied with the following mumbo-jumbo:

"PREPAID - since 06/03/10 for (1) WRMG800 FOOD GRINDER is still back order. Our replenishment stock is still due to arrive according to scheduled time turn-a-round. "

No date was provided, however when I called Linda she assured me that it would be mid-July, for sure. When mid-July rolled around I sent another email to GD. There was no reply, so after a couple of days I called and canceled the order. Linda promised that the refund would be processed "within 24-48 hours." After 3 days no refund had been submitted to Amex so I disputed the order through them. I also advised Amex that they should stop dealing with GD. Even as of today (7/29) there has been no refund applied to my account by GD.

I then found another vendor (kyro.com) who drop-shipped the grinder from the factory in 2 days. There was clearly no shortage of inventory that would justify a 6+ week delay.

My speculation is that GD is in financial trouble which would explain their inventory "back-order" problems (overdue balance owed to manufacturer), their empty promise of a refund (cash flow problems), and their flaky, deceitful staff (morale issues).

I strongly recommend that you do not use GD for any purchase that you cannot inspect and carry out of the store at the time of purchase.

Ever since Appliance Sales & Service replaced the cord to my iron many years ago (who knew you could have that done?) and then did the same for one of my lamps, I've recommended these folks every chance I get. I thought my blender was a goner. Nope. Appliance Sales & Service to the rescue!

It's also great to be able to pick up kitchen goodies there. I use the mini-food processor I got from them all the time. Just the other day I was talking to someone at Whole Foods who said she was saving up for something. I said, "Do you know about Gourmet Depot?" Nope. So she'll probably shop there, too.

One more thing: Most of us are busy these days, and sometimes take a little while (okay, sometimes more than a little while) to pick things up. Appliance Sales and Service has been Very nice about this.

Will never buy from this merchant again. Purchased a replacement carafe for my Italian espresso machine. Their ad stated that the model carafe fit my machine. It did not. I phoned them and the rep said that even though the item's box said that it did not fit my model, he was assured that it did. Explained that I had tried and it did not. He offered to refund the purchase price but not the shipping. I pointed out that the shipping both ways would cost more than what I had paid for the carafe. Said that that was "all [he] could do" even though they deliberately misleadingly advertised the product.

I would give these people no stars but that is not an option.
I ordered a part on 9/18/2009 which I have not received as of this writing. I emailed them and also called them. They never responded to the email and were not apologetic about a lack of response. I wonder how they stay in business. I will try and find an alternative for my part.

I needed a new work bowl for my food processor and The Gourmet Depot was the only online merchant that I could find that had the bowl. I did not want to order from The Gourmet Depot due to all of the negative reviews that I read (here and elsewhere). I called KitchenAid to find out where I could obtain the bowl -- and the only recommendation they had was The Gourmet Depot!! I took the plunge and placed my online order with the Gourmet Depot on 12/2 -- received an email with my tracking number on 12/3 -- and received my bowl the day I suppossed to -- my transaction was perfect!

I made a purchase from The Gourmet Depot totaling $18.40 (including taxes and shipping). I received an order confirmation via email describing the product and total charges which I reviewed for accuracy. Everything looked good.

Two days later, I check my bank account to discover that The Gourmet Depot had charged my account $291!!!! I never authorized this amount!

I immediately contacted the company and was told that the price listed on the website was incorrect and that they had simply charge my card the correct price in order to fulfill the order. I ask why no one from customer service had contacted me to discuss the discrepancy and was told that I should have check the website for inaccuracies before placing my order!

I would never ever do business with this company and I'd avise all to stay away! It's going to take me days (if not longer) to wrestle my $300 back out of their greedy hands!

I ordered a filter cup holder for my Krups coffee machine and it arrived defective (cracked). They refused to replace it and referred me to Krups. They were recommend by William Sonoma, I am surprised they would recommend a company with such bad service. I would never buy or recommend The Gourmet Depot. They get zero stars.

Ordered a vacuum from them, got an automatic reply email on my order, then nothing. After a week, made two calls, no response, sent two emails, then got the rudest email back, giving ME a hard time for demanding to know where my order was. "What are we supposed to do, send you an email every day?" this guy "Tim" wrote. No, just one would have sufficed! The whole attitude of their email was that they were trying to get the product I "requested", as though I were really putting them out by ordering from them. Funny, I thought I was trying to buy a product they already had. Sorry to bother you with my business! One of the most bizarre interactions with a retailer I've ever had. Never NEVER do business with them.

After being put on hold several times, i was told that it was on backorder. At that time, I stated that I wanted to cancel the order, and was told that someone else would have to call me back about that. Strange, but I was sick of waiting on the phone, so I agreed to wait for the call back. Two weeks later, and the promised call was never made. So I called again, this time to demand that the order be canceled, and after 15 minutes on hold, I once again gave up. The saga continues...
To first fail to notify me that the product was on backorder, and then to be so unhelpful and evasive on the phone is absolutely unacceptable, and is no way to run a business. Save yourself the trouble and order from somewhere else!

I ordered a product from Gourmet Depot on 12-28-08. After about ten days and no delivery, I sent an email requesting the status of my order --- NO RESPONSE !!! I called their toll free number, spent over a half hour on hold, then got cut off. I called back and after several attempts, finally had someone answer. When I asked about my order, he told me they were still backed up from Christmas !!!
I cancelled the order, logged onto Amazon, ordered the product and it was delivered in 2 days.
Gourmet Depot should be SHUT DOWN !!! They should not be doing business on the internet. HORRIBLE COMPANY !!!

I ordered gaskets for my pressure cooker a month ago via their website. I got an email confirming my order and then NOTHING since. I've sent two emails requesting information, and I've gotten nothing--no gaskets, no email response.

From reading other reviews, Gourmet Depot seems to be a good store to go and shop, but I would recommend that people not order from the website. This is the ***WORST*** internet business I've dealt with.

Culinary Parts Unlimited has merged with Gourmet Depot and both now are under one roof. They specialize in hard to find, possibly no longer manufactured, parts for small appliances such as blenders, food processors, etc. I've used their replacement and repair services on a number of occasions and they've gone out of their way to be of help. They have my highest recommendation.
