Falls River Books is great!

by Anne W.

I visited Falls River Books during the North Raleigh Farmer's Market and it is now my favorite bookstore. The selection of books is amazing, the pricing is at least half off, and everything is organized and really easy to find (unlike the selection in other bookstores around Raleigh). The owner, who introduced himself and was very welcoming, helped direct me to a few books that I can't wait to get started on. As someone who loves to read, I know I will definitely be back soon.

The way a bookstore should be

by chandler f.

This is a rare jewel in our big box society! The aisles are wide and browser-friendly and the kids are mesmerized by the big bookcases and the fun kids area. The store is definitely kid-friendly and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The incentives to trade books are great. We love it!

Great place for kids!

by Mel B. | insider Insider | Rank: 19,885

I went here for the first time a few weeks ago with my 16 month old and just fell in love with this place. My daughter was restless so I got her out of the stroller and she was having so much fun going up and down the aisle with me following behind her going no, no, no and the owner just told me to let her go. He said it's a bookstore, it's a place for kids to have fun and to let her enjoy herself. It just helped me to relax and let her have fun while we picked out new books!

Great place, everyone was so friendly and helpful.

Great Shop with a Great Owner

by Don T.

This store is a never-ending delight for just about any kind of reader. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, with an amazing memory for the titles in the shelves. The prices are great, and the already-read books are in very good shape - no yard sale soiled and torn clunkers here. The cookbook section is especially good. They also have a lot of rare/antique/collectible books in stock to complete that personal collection, or to give as a special gift.

Great customer service

by Gloria K.

I walked into the bookstore and was greeted by a pleasant fellow who asked if I needed any help finding a book and offer me free coffee and cookies. When I said I didn't quite know what I wanted to read, he then made several recommndation that were right on spot. I felt very welcome there.

what fun!

by Sharon E.

What fun to see such a variety of good reading. They have such a great selection of all kinds of books and in excellent condition. The prices are excellent, when I bring books to trade I get so much for my money. The kids love to go there because of the toys, lollipop tree and treasure chest. I enjoy the free coffee and cookies. The staff helps by recommending books and locating them for me. There's always a genuine "Hello!". I feel at home there. It's just a great place. S.R.E.

I was transported to another time

by Steven E.

Falls River Books from the outside looks just like a strip center storefront, but when I walked inside I was transported to another time. It was unlike any other bookstore I have been in Raleigh. Falls River Books had wood floors and mahogany stained bookcases. In addition to its large selection of used paperbacks and hardcovers they had an nice selection of rare books as well. The staff was super nice and they seemed to not be able to do enough for my family and kids.
