Came up here one boring tuesday to have a couple beers and watch a baseball game with a couple friends, got asked to play trivia, loved it, have been going for 3 months now. Tons of fun, different categories every week, challenging

Food was just bad. Cold, bland and pricey. When we walked in the place the whole area by the front door stunk. Bartenders kept there backs to us most of the time. Everytime we wanted anything we had to track one down. We will not

Pros: Lots of TV's

Cons: Really bad food and service

We had Symon for our waiter. He blew so badly we started taking dishes and empty cups off of our table and putting them on the one next to ours. We finally were able to get our tab which ended up having things we did not order. Once we brought it to his attention he got bent out of shape and didn't believe us. When we got the "manager", Manny, he was useless, giving up nothing more than an apology. We weren't happy with his apathetic and insincere excuses and requested his superior's info, which he refused to release. He only gave HIS business card and promised that our complaint would be forwarded. This was my first time there and will definitely be my last. If the owner(s) read this and wish to make this right for us, then maybe we would consider giving this place another try and perhaps write a more favorable review.

Update: It's disappointing that even the owner of this establishment feels this way. Here's the actual conversation he had with me. Judge for yourself on whether or not you'd like to come to this place.

Hi Sarah, I read your review Sunday and took it very seriously -- in fact enough to personally go down to our Round Rock store and sit down with Manny to learn everything I could about the incident.

Indeed it was regrettable that you received poor service -- I understand that it was an honest error (albeit inexcusable) on Symon's part, thinking you were already being helped because you sat down at a table with drinks on it. We are addressing that with him. I'm terribly sorry that happened -- that's not the norm at Third Base.

I understand Manny removed two of the three pitchers of beer off of your tab -- that was a very generous gesture I hope didn't go unnoticed.

All in all I do think you would be pleasantly surprised if you returned to give us another try. By far we receive many more positive comments about the service at Third Base Round Rock than negative comments. I do truly believe your experience was unique, however regrettable. I do hope you give us another try.

The two pitchers he is referring to are the very ones that we never ordered.

Is it not true they were ordered by others in your party that left without paying for them?

Not accusing, just trying to get to the bottom of this.

My husband and I were there from 145-9ish and in that time had two different sets of friends that met up with us. Our tabs had been separate the entire time. At no time did my husband and I offer to buy anyone's pitchers. With that said, there were pitchers ordered by the other parties. They all requested their tabs and paid when it was time for them to head out. I told both Manny & Symon that I wouldn't have known whether or not something had been paid or as it was on a separate tab. As infrequently as Symon stopped by our table it wouldn't surprise me if those were from another table entirely.

I understand your frustration, and I share similar frustration when I get poor service at any establishment. I apologize sincerely for the fact that Symon didn't serve you well -- we are taking all necessary steps to make sure that doesn't happen again.

I encourage you to give us another shot -- I'm hopeful that you will change your mind and understand that this was truly a unique event.

I appreciate you taking the time to try and get to the bottom of this, however I think for now we'll go elsewhere. Any other manager in Manny's position should've comp'd part of the bill or given us a reason to return. Symon had already removed the two pitchers by the time we had asked for his manager, so Manny really wasn't any help.

Brendan P.

I can fully appreciate your decision to go elsewhere. To clarify, Manny did perform the comp -- servers are not able to do comps. I'm sorry you feel that a $22 comp on a $40 tab -- $18 after seven hours at Third Base -- was insufficient to justify your return.

Again however, I'm terribly sorry about the fact that your service was anything short of spectacular.

To clarify, Symon was our second waiter. The first waitress was fabulous and our tab with her was over $70. Her shift had ended and we offered to close out with so she could get her due tip. That's when he took over and we opened a new tab with him. The comp I'm referring to would be from what we actually ordered, not for what was allegedly left unpaid by another party. Again, thank you for your time.

I have only eaten as this restaurant once but I was pleasantly surprised at the selection on the menu. There was more variety than your typical bar fare. I had the tuna steak and I must say it was excellent and surpassed my expectations.
