If not for the care, support and guidance I received from Virginia Mims I would not have been able to give birth naturally. When I discovered that my baby was breach and the inevitability of a cesarean birth was looming, a friend suggested that I contact Ginny. To my doctor?s surprise and my joy, the moxabustion treatments Ginny prescribed worked and I was able to avoid a caesarean birth. I also turned to Ginny at the end of my pregnancy when I was way past my due date and facing unwanted medical interventions. Ginny suggested acupuncture to help get things moving and again I was pleased with the results. For any pregnant woman searching for safe and effective alternatives, I highly recommend Ginny for the skilled and thoughtful care that she gives to her patients.

I have chronic knee pain. So much so it hurt to walk up a flight of stairs. I started seeing Ginny last year about this time. When we first started I could not walk more than a few stairs before my pain became extreme. I went twice a week for treatments. I noticed the pain dropped dramatically after the first visit. It took about a month for the pain to totally go away. I kept up with the treatments and now I go once a week to keep the pain away. It was nice for the first time in years I could have a more active life and enjoy work again too. I am a server and bartender so I stand for long periods of time and often run around a lot.

I'm fairly familiar with acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, and had tried several practitioners here in NY; I highly recommend Virginia (Ginny) Mims, who has been my best experience so far.
Viriginia is not only a skilled acupunturist, she's also a skilled herbalist (I've found that many acupunturists in New York only do needles and don't do Chinese herbal medicine, even though traditionally the two went together, which makes Virginia a special find.) I found Virginia's custom made medicinal teas and tinctures to be a great supplement to my accupuncture treatment, since they were something I could do at home to take care of my own health in between acupuncture treatments.
I've seen Virginia to treat physical ailments and also emotional issues (depression, anxiety) and i found her treatments highly effective especially in helping me deal with depression and anxiety issues.
Virginia is very thorough and she follows up; she won't give up until you're feeling better.
Also, she has one of the best "bed side manners" I've seen amongst acupuncturists- she's warm, caring, humble, very easy to talk to, she knows what questions to ask and listens well. It's really a delight to be in her pressence.

I came to Virginia because I had chronic back pain. I've had great acupuncture experiences in the past for my back pain and was interested in trying her acupuncture laser. I found Virginia to be very caring practitioner and interested in not only my back pain, but my wellbeing as a whole. She asked detailed questions, wanting to find the cause of my problem. She was both knowledgeable and personal. The aculaser was painless, I did not feel a thing! She combined it with regular acupuncture, which I think was very helpful. After the first treatment, I found I had great relief from back tightness and lower back pain. I highly recommend Virginia for acupuncture and laser acupuncture care.

First off I hate needles, but Ginny really put me at ease. She listened to me, asked the right questions and put together a great program to help with my medical difficulties. And when it came time for the acupuncture, it was amazing. She's simply the best! Whatever your difficulties are, talk to her, she'll really listen and design exactly the right program for you.

Virginia (Ginny) Mims is an amazing practitioner. She is bright, thorough, kind, warm and gentle. She listens to every aspect of what is going on for her patients and comes up with the best way to do a treatment. Ginny has been my Acupuncturist for at least a year now. Initially I came to Ginny for general "well being" and "maintenance". Ginny wound up treating my lower back pain, anxiety, and allergies. I got married in May and I was calm and healthy in the weeks and days before the wedding. I attribute much of this to Ginny (as does my husband). I also got pregnant on my honeymoon (I can't attribute that to Ginny but I do contribute some of it to my relaxed state). Ginny has helped tremendously during my pregnancy by alleviating my back pain, nausea, allergies and anxiety. I can't take medicine for any of the previous ailments and none have really afflicted me during this time. I can't recommend her enough!!

Cons: I can't think of any.

I was really pleased. I'd never tried accupunture before and so was nervous before going in. She explained everything to me very clearly. The whole experience was relaxing, professional, and effective. I'd recommend it to people who are new to alternative medicine.

From the very first moment I walked in to AcuLaser I knew I was in expert hands. Virginia Mims, the founder of this extraordinary service is one of the most professional, kind and pleasant people I have ever met. She did an awesome and thorough intake and then made me feel so good. Her expertise at placing the accupuncture needles and clear explanations were simultaneously soothing and informative. AcuLaser provides a first class experience in a lovely, relaxed environment. I wish I could go every day.
