I am watching my wife struggle every morning with a car we bought from Jimmys auto last year.

When we first looked at the car there were a number of issues which Jimmy assured us he would repair, fix and take care of. Suffice to say , Jimmy not only did not do any of this, but actually did nothing but hold our car a few days.

After 8 mos of back and forth with Jimmy (where he effectively pushed us out of the Lemon Law coverage period) the care was still not running properly . In addition, we caught Jimmy in an outright lie when he held our car for 3 days to inspect why the horn was not working after his last repair. He indicated it would be a repair approaching $300 and that both horns would need to be replaced.

The next day I took the vehicle to my local garage for an oil change and not only was the oil changed in less than 30 minutes but he had fixed the horn for less than $20. We had bonafidely caught Jimmy in a lie. Since this incident he has refused to correspond or even speak with us.

I have been there enough to note that Jimmy will rip off an elderly woman to a young hard working 18 year buying his first car. I watched as within the same hour long period Jimmy and his staff told 3 different people who had bought cars from him and brought them in for repair, that they had issues with relay switches. It seems every time I was in Jimmys for a repair it was a relay switch and I began noticing that everyone else who came in for repairs of vehicles they bought from him were facing the same relay switch problem. I do not think theres anything wrong with the relay switch, I think its more like the relay switch is Jimmys own magical mechanism for bullshitting people out of legitimate warranty repairs and pushing them beyond the lemon law window. Beware of Jimmys Relay Switch scheme. (one of the more upsetting scenes with this was watching jimmy furnish this explanation to a father who became annoyed with his daughter, who started crying (this was their 3rd time back with the car in the same week) and left with the father actually shaking Jimmys hand but annoyed with his daughter. This steams me as such dishonestly has ramifications that go deeper and further than a purchase.

Jimmys attitude during the buying process was very accommodating well do whatever it takes to make you happy, dont worry I wont let you drive out of here unhappy with your car, etc The moment the deal was signed, Jimmy did nothing but avoid us, did not even say hello when we were there for subsequent repairs (skulked by us and gave us a look, actually) and then the one time I insisted on speaking with him he made mention that he knowswomen dont understand and shes being a pain in the ass, isnt she thinking he could possibly build camaraderie with me against my wife (?!)

I have three children ranging late teens to mid 20s. They, like all kids in this age group, are desperate for a car so they can be mobile and independent. We all know how tough it is today for their age group with only part time jobs available and low hourly wages. More importantly than relaying a negative experience about, in my opinion a dishonest, immoral and low caliber auto dealer, I think it more important to deter these kids from falling prey to such a scummy dealer like him. Ive had my three kids spread the word about Jimmys on their cell phone and through their social networks so that all their friends in the greater Poughkeepsie, Fishkill, Wappingers and Pleasant Valley area avoid him. I urge you to do the same.

IN MY OPINION - DONT BUY FROM JIMMYS AUTO OUTLET. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AND TELL ALL YOUR KIDS TO DO THE SAME. CIRCULATE TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS VIA TEXT AND SOCIAL NETWORK.

Reviews are a great thing. If there is a review that is not a nice one it is only fair that both sides should be heard. Aimee L did have an 8:00 am appointment to have a New York State Inspection. (She was a new costumer that has never been here before.) The shop did open up late. (8:06 that morning.) She was told that we would start on her inspection right away and that inspection can take up to 45 min. What she failed to say was how she spoke to the young lady opening the door. What she failed to realize is that we all have young children at home. That we all have to get them up and dressed and off to school and daycare. That as everyone knows children do not always get things done on time, especially when they are not feeling good.
We do not make any excuses for being 6 minutes late but we are all human and are not perfect, no one is. We do go out of our way to fix any inconvenience we may cause our customers.
What ever happened to common courtesy? I was told a long time ago you will get a lot more done with honey then vinegar. Maybe Aimee L should try a little honey in stead of vinegar next time someone is 6 minutes late for one of her appointments.

I called to make an appointment for my inspection and was told that the first appointment was 8 am. Respectfully, I arrived 10 minutes early. The service advisors sauntered in at 8.06 am. I mentioned to the young lady unlocking the door that I thought they opened at 8am...she said, 'we do'. Once she had seated herself and got herslef prepared, I asked her if I was still going to get out on time and that I had arrived at 8am so that I could. She never apologized for being late, rolled her eyes at me when I mentioned 8.10 am is not 8am. At this stage I was not impressed with the customer service I was receiving and thought it best to abort the mission. The attititude, the sloppiness of all the employees sauntering in 5 minutes later than they were supposed to open and the lack of apology from the advisor gave me the impression the quality of their work would not be up to par and my wait would be longer than I had been promised. I rode down the road to C & V Auto Center who open up at 8 am to be ready and organized for their first appointment at 8.30 am. Had a lovely chat with the owner and will be here tomorrow morning at 8.25 for my appointment at 8.30 am.

Recently my wife and I were looking for a new car, we searched the web luckly came across Jimmys Auto Outlet. We pulled into Jimmy's, we were left alone to look over the cars, after a few minutes Jimmy came out spoke to us as a person not as a salesman, we discussed the cars, told him our price range, no pressure from Jimmy to go higher in price. We purchased a Pacifica from Jimmy. Jamie & Jason Jimmy's staff was equally helpful in the purchase. A mud flap came loose causing a noise I could not detect we brought back into Jimmy the car was looked over, the part replaced for no charge,

Was looking for a used car for our daughter. Web site was good and by the time we got there, the car was rolling away with someone else. Stock is always changing and anyone I know who has bought from here is very happy.

Jimmys auto body did a fine job repairing my 2002 Toyota Tacoma after a rear end collision. No surprises on schedule and on budget.
