4/16/2011 My wife and I went into the place. I ordered the 1/2 chicken and wife 1/2 baby back ribs. The service was great but the food bad. The chicken was dry and the ribs\r
was poor and also dry. I think the cook wasn't paying attention

My wife is a stickler for quality. I on the otherhand, am not that picky. She came across a $5 off coupon for KSBBQ on the internet so we decided to try it out this evening. When we walked in we were both impressed with the aroma, smelled like we were in for a BBQ treat! But then the food arrived. Ummm....how shall we put this? Probably best to just say it straight: Kansas City BBQ is by far the worst barbeque we have ever eaten. We ordered a chicken sandwich which was more like a compilation of unidentifiable chicken parts with an odd texture slathered in bbq sauce and slapped on a hoagie bun, for $9.00! We also had the $16.00 half rack of baby back ribs, which had an unusual flavor to the extent that my wife said eating it gave her a great idea for a new horror film! (You can use your imagination, Hannibal.) My wife barely ate her dinner, and I suffered through it instead of complaining to the manager because there was nothing technically wrong with the food, it just wasn't good. Plus I had already paid for the food, partially eaten it and had absolutely no interest in being given a restaurant credit for the future. On the plus side, the workers and staff were very nice and the atmosphere boasting flat tv screens was a nice touch, though, that might just be because it helped distract from the food. So now after writing this review I'm off to brush my teeth...again...and maybe take a shower too since there were no wet-wipes available after dinner. I'm hopeful that in a few hours I won't be paying the price again for eating the bbq, but the gurgling in my gut tells me otherwise.

Pros: coupons available on the internet, flat tv screens

Cons: food, overpriced, no wet-wipes available

I think this is a new place. I was really impressed with the quality of food they serve there. Everything I ordered was delicious and I would certainly go back there again.

Kansas City opened up about six months ago. My friend recommended it to me. It is just awesome. The chicken is so moist and tender, its mouth-watering. My mom loves the brisket sandwich. Its terrific.

I don't know what happened with all the previous negative reviewers, but this place has awesome bbq. I ordered the combo with baby back ribs, brisket, and burnt ends and they were all great. The meats were tender and juicy, and the sauce was perfect mix of sweet and tart. The beans were tasty and the fries were perfect. I live a block away from Ribs USA (mentioned in another review) and I would rather drive out to KC BBQ any day.

Pros: Great food, friendly service

Cons: Not the most glamorous location

We went here on father's day!! The Food was not that Great. I got the barbecue ribs with sweet potatoes fries. I have to say that I've tasted much much better. Not great for the prices they were asking. Ms. Peaches is right around the corner and you will get more for your buck!!! If you so decide to stop here - you have been warned.

I have been to Kansas City BBQ 3 times in the last month, and each time I go it gets better and better. It is by far the BEST BBQ I have had , and that includes Dr. Hogly Wogly's Texas Tyler BBQ. The brisket is awesome, the baked beans are like eating a campfire (that's a good thing) they are smokey and have chunks of meats in them, and the sweet potato fries are amazing when you eat them in house where the can't get soggy. I love this place. I had no idea what I was in for when I stopped into this place, and I am so pleasantly surprised and totally addicted.

I don't know what the last reviewer was smoking but that was by far the worst BBQ i have ever had!!! I ordered the beef brisket and it tasted like dry greasy trash, the fries were soggy and taster bland, the potato salad had no flavor and tasted semi okay, the bread was a slice of wonder bread. I should have drove pass KC BBQ and went straight to McDonald's I would have saved a lot more money and had something with some taste to it. I feel sick to my stomach right now and I only ate a 1/3 of the meal. Do yourself a favor and don't attempt to eat this so called food they serve. You've been warned!

I first want to say that I rarely right reviews. But, when I read the one written by wise1too ?NO WONDER I'M THE FIRST REVIEW!? I had to write. Wise1too?s review could not be further from the truth. I have been going to KC BBQ for the past few months and love it. I have introduced it to several of my friends and family, they have all loved the food. Unlike what wise1too wrote, KC BBQ uses a dry rub style BBQ not a ?sugery glop? as he/she so eloquently stated. Wise1too must have confused that with the McRib sandwich he/she had the evening prior. KC BBQ?s meat is tender, moist, flavorful, and lightly dressed. I love, love, love the pork sandwich. The Hot Links are awesome and the smoky BBQ baked beans are on a whole new level; awesome. By the way, the owner has always been there when I have eaten there. He seems to really care about his patrons? experience; nice guy. Now you don?t have to take my word for it. But, I am not going to bash one place and then tell you to go eat down the street at another. LOL, just a bit suspect, ya think?

i Went at dinner time on a Thursday night. The place had one other customer. I now know why.
I had a combo plate so I tried a full range of the kitchen.($20.50 w.drink.) Each piece of BBQ was worse than the next.
Everything was dry, overcooked and bland. The Burnt ends were a mess of meat in a distgusting sugery glop.
The only thing I totally ate were the fries sweet potato fries. I've never left so much on the plate. It just wasn't worth putting in my mouth!
I really hate to give such a bad review but this place sadly deserves it.
Stay away and try Ribs USA a few miles away.
