The staff is very knowledgeable, but when they are stumped by a question, they don't make up an answer, they look it up and get back to you. If there's one thing I can't stand it's being lied to, especially by car dealers. I've come to assume everything a car salesperson says is a lie, but this place is different. Maybe they can even put some trust back into the car buying experience!
After doing research on several different cars, I ended up at Bakersfield Hyundai without knowing exactly what I wanted. I was a bit tired, frustrated and expected to window shop at one last dealership before heading for home. I was greeted by a Hyundai employee, (salesperson? manager?) who first asked if I needed a cup of coffee, which was appreciated. Rather than the usual, "What are you lookin' to get into today?" question that seems to be car sales script, he asked how my day was and if I'd prefer to sit inside rather than peruse cars outside, since it was freezing. We sat and sipped coffee and I blurted out that I was frustrated with the whole car-purchasing ordeal. I didn't know where to start, which ratings to trust and what I could comfortably do. He said he'd help me figure it out, and then asked me a few simple questions, like: truck, car or suv? big or small? any features I found fun or useful? what would I use it for, mostly? is style important to me? what was I prepared to spend? I answered, and he asked me to take a look at a car I might like. He led me to a Veloster; it was exactly what I needed: good gas mileage, fun features, style and a price that fit my budget. I sat in it for a half hour, loving it, wondering why I didn't start at BH first. Easy as that.

I spoke on the phone with a salesman to see if they had the exact car I wanted, which was a 2011 Elantra. They stated they just got 5 of them off of the truck and I asked the MSRP and I was quoted $17,945. I asked before I made the 100+ mile drive if they would meet me at my price that I was quoted by nearby dealers, which was $17,500, they stated this was no big deal and they wouldn't loose a deal over $400. So I loaded up the car with my family so they could drive the car back the 100 miles to home and cruised up there.
Once I got there I test drove the vehicle, looked at the sticker and saw it matched the $17,945 MSRP I was quoted. I went in to the office, input all of my information ect in preparation for the purchase. I waited and waited and finally I was called back in and to my surprise they informed me that the window stickers on all 5 Elantras they received today had incorrect window stickers and in fact the MSRP is $18,645. I stated that to be in good faith they need to hold up their deal of $17,500 and go after Hyundai for the difference. They said that they in no way could go that low because dealer cost was $18,132. I agreed that we could meet in the middle at $18,000. I was again informed that the BEST they could do was $18,400. At this point I was infuriated and I walked out on the deal.
To compound the problem the sales manager Jesse came out and informed my family of what had happened and basically laughed in our faces stating that he doesn't care if we walk out on the deal because he can sell the car at MSRP before the end of the day.
This place is a horrible business place and as we speak I am writing my letter to the Better Business Bureau, Hyundai motor corp. and my lawyer for false advertising practices and not honoring a contract or agreement. I can't believe this place is still open after events like this.

These guys are great! The sales team helped me and my mom to find a car for her. I had to conduct business with them by phone/email since I live out of town and found that all of my calls and emails were returned promptly. They took really good care of my mom, she's thrilled.

I was looking for a used car to commute to work in and I found the Bakersfield Hyundai website. They had a couple of cheap used cars that fit what I was looking for. I found a little Chevrolet sedan for a good price. I printed out the listing from the computer. I took that into the dealer and walked out with that exact car at the listed price. No hassle or pushy sales people. I love my new (used) little chevy. I get 30+ MPG and would recommend Family Motors to anyone!
