iF YOU DON'T MIND WAITING IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR AN ETERNITY FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT, DON'T MIND SEEING A DIFFERENT PRACTIONER EVERY VISIT, DON'T MIND SEEING A CARE GIVER WHO DOESN'T REFER TO YOUR CHART AND PRESCRIBES THE WRONG MEDICINE THAT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED IN YOUR CHART AS NON EFFECTIVE , THEN THIS PRACTICE IS FOR YOU. RUDE AND NOT TOO SWIFT NURSE PRACTIONER,. I AM LOOKING ELSEWHERE FOR CARE.

The WORST OBGYN experience ever. They are rude, and impossible to actually get appointments within a timely manner. They have way to many patients for them to actually provide decent care. I HIGHLY recommend going elsewhere, as it doesn't get any worse than this place. I will spare you the details of my experience, however i will tell you I have a new doctor that i love and they made me realize how terrible this office truly was. They should all have their licenses revoked, and the office should be closed. Wouldn't go here again even if they were the last office open in the world. They just want your money and could care less about you as a patient. GO ELSEWHERE, YOU WONT REGRET IT!

I recently found out that I was pregnant with my second child so being new to Connecticut, I asked my primary care physician, Barbara Phillips M.D., if she could personally recommend an Ob-Gyn for me. She recommended the Ob-Gyn Group of Manchester.

Overjoyed, I made an appointment with the Ob-Gyn Group of Manchester. Given the fact that I now have United Health Care GE Health Choice (the worst insurance ever!), I asked the secretary how much the visit would cost. I was dissapointed to find out that the cost of a pregnancy test ALONE would run me a grand total of $250.

I made an appointment with Planned Parenthood of WIllimantic to determine how far along I was by ultrasound. The urine test, internal ultrasound and pre-natal vitamins only came to $130. I called Ob-Gyn Group of Manchester to let them know that I had pregnancy confirmation including an actual ultrasound from Planned Parenthood. I was told that I stilll needed to pay the $250 for a pregnancy test as this was their and any other office's ROUTINE.

LISTEN UP, OB-GYN OF MANCHESTER- IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR OFFICE'S POLICY IS ONLY TO SCREW HARD WORKING PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR MONEY.

Thanks, but no thanks, really.

I have given Ob-Gyn Group of Manchester chance after chance, and they have continually let me down. So far, I have only really liked one of the providers I have met: Dr. Michaels. Dr. Hancock was ok, but a little over-direct for my taste (read on).

My last visit I had to wait 20 minutes before the MA came and took my stats, then I sat for over an hour on the table with no pants on waiting for the doctor come give me an examination. When my patience finally ran out, and I got dressed and started to leave, someone caught me in the hallway and sent me to get an ultrasound, which I did not need. After the ultrasound, I was sent back to an examination room where I had to wait another 20 minutes pantless on a table before being seen for 5 minutes and being told, "So, it looks like you're having a miscarriage!"

It seems to me that a miscarriage is a great opportunity to make a patient a life-long fan of your practice, if you treat them kindly and with good bedside manner. Since this was not the case for me, I will not be using Ob-Gyn Group of Manchester for my next pregnancy.

I feel this group has not given me the best service. I have yet to be seen by the same doctor twice. It seems as though they are more concerned with their schedule and getting as many patients in and out the door fast as possible, than providing thoughtful, thorough and attentive care. I was scheduled twice for a procedure without being given the necessary pre-appointment prescription. I was hurriedly provided unhelpful literature when I asked questions. I was given inadequate post procedure instructions in the middle of a procedure. The doctor in office has refused to see me on short notice despite troubling side effects and serious pain. Their answer to everything seems to be NSAIDs: "take motrin", "alleve is a wonderful drug", etc. I have never felt less important to my doctor. The only thing they did well was quickly schedule me an appointment after an e.r. visit.

I saw this practice a few times before I got pregnant and I liked them (about as much as you can like the gynecologist!) but I was really happy to use them throughout my pregnancy. They have several doctors and midwives in the practice and you see each one at least once and you also don't know which doctor will be on call when you go into labor so if your "chosen doctor" may not be the one who delivers your baby. But you can be assured that you will see a doctor that you have met before. The doctors are all nice and the staff is as well. The ultra sound tech was great when I had my ultrasounds and the staff was so excited to see my baby at my follow up appointments.
