The Flying Squirrel is destined to be that great Seattle neighborhood pizza parlor, one that you come back to again and again because of the amazing food, wonderful service and engaging atmosphere. You'll fall in love with the eclectic rustic charm of the space - dark wood planked floor, high ceilings, and antique white and burnt orange walls. But most importantly, you'll be head over heals with the food, an East Coast style crust with a flair for local ingredients, organic whenever possible, and unique topping combinations. Owner Bill Coury has a passion for pizza that is evident in the pies that he and his fellow Squirrels prepare.

The Flying Squirrel is a hit with the entire family. The pizza is authentic and tastes home-made right out of the oven. Pricing is fair and the service staff is excellent.

Best Pizza and salad ever!!
by m4hw
What a great surprise this resturant was when I was visiting my son and family who live near by. Started with the daily special salad with local grown beets and a great home made dressing.
Next came the sausage with garlic pizza, WOW the best ever!!
My home is in New Hampshire, and the Flying Squirrel has become my favorite resturant in the Seattle area. Will be heading to Seattle for Thanksgiving, and cannot wait to head to the Flying Squirrel again.
You are so luck to have this gem of a resturant in your area.

Pros: Selection of pizza, friendly people, atmosphere
Cons: Could not find one

Best Pizza in Seattle!!
by LauraC6
I have to say that Flying Squirrel has some of the best pizza that I've ever had. And to qualify that for you, I've lived in New York City for 8 years and had plenty of their best. Flying Squirrel Pizza is of the two best pizza's I've ever had, the second being in Venice, Italy. No, Flying Squirrel is not brick oven Italian pizza, that just happened to be my other favorite. The Squirrel offers spectacular crust, great sauce, and a creative menu to choose from. If you're interested in the good ole fashioned pepperoni and such, they have that too. My favorite? Add mama lils' to your pizza. They're awesome! And they're not too spicy. This place is definitely worth driving for, not that I have to 'cause I'm local, but I would if I wasn't. I used to not be local and make the drive for Tutta Bella, but I won't be eating at Tutta Bella's anymore since the Squirrel moved in.
Pros: fantastic pizza, creative toppings available, great staff, quaint atmosphere
Cons: If I order everything on the menu, I won't be able to finish it.

Finally...great pizza in Seattle!
by PatriceF
If you like crispy, thin pizza with a lot of italian taste, then you will love this pizza place. I am from the east coast and have missed east coast pizza for the 9 years I have lived in Seattle. I can finally stop complaining that Seattle has no good pizza places. We went on opening weekend, so we expected a long wait and some disorganization - but we were wrong - the service was great. We had 3 kids with us under the age of 5, and although the restaurant offered nothing to keep the kids occupied, the service was quick enough that it wasn't an issue. The restaurant was also fairly loud, so having kids wasn't an issue. A romantic dinner for 2 might not be ideal.
We also ordered a salad and dessert - both were very good.
Our family will definitely visit Flying Squirrel Pizza many more times!
My only complaint is one that is common with pizza in Seattle - the price. Why is it that pizza everywhere else in the country is in the $12.00 range for a large and in Seattle it is in the $20.00 range. Aren't we talking about flour, tomato sauce and cheese?
But in a city where pizza is overpriced in general, you might as well, get good quality pizza that tastes good - which is why I recommend Flying Squirrel Pizza to everyone with or without kids.
Pros: Parking - easy, Service - great, Atmosphere - good for families or adults without kids
