I was surfing the internet, and stumbled across this site. I had NO knowledge of Vernon's passing away. It had been several years since we talked, I think 2006.

I was hosting my business and legal radio and television talk shows in Dallas, Texas when Vernon Johnson and I met.

He and his wife Bonnie had decided that he would be featured
on my TV show for their Bankruptcy practice. This would be the beginning of a long friendship and business relationship.

Vernon told me that I was one of the reasons he became an attorney; and quite naturally, I was ''shocked!" He had heard of of my radio shows (The Law & You) and said that it helped him make up his mind to practice law. He was 18 years old when he heard me... I asked him his age then, and he said he was 43 going on 44.

After 16 years in law, because of personal reasons, Vernon moved to Las Vegas. He called me on the phone and said he wanted to return to Dallas and take up his practice again, but didn't have a physical office here, although he was licensed to practice in Texas as well as Nevada.

I invited him to come back. He stayed with me at my North Dallas condo, because I wouldn't have it any other way, and we opened him a new office in the Stemmons Towers on Stemmons Freeway in Dallas. I handled the advertising and marketing for the firm, and hired personnel. Some of his staff returned from the old family firm.

His son and daughter Teddy and Chelsea were small then. I donno Teddy may have been 3 or 4 years old. But the firm became instantly successful after we placed Vernon on my TV Show, "On Business & Law" which I believe then was on KXPX TV 29, in 1994-95 period.

After a short while, I left the firm and pursued my broadcast career on a full time basis. Vernon and I spoke only on occasion, and I later moved out of town.

He was a believer. His life was dotted with good and the bad as all lives are, but he was a good-hearted person. Friendly, already ready for a good joke and a good laugh. He saw the glass as half-full all of the time I knew him.

Around 2006, we wished each other well in what would be our final time meeting. When I returned to Dallas, we didn't reestablish our friendship in working together. Vernon's show was great, and it repeated several times on the air. People find the legal information invaluable.

I wish his family and children well.

Hello I was a client of Mr. Johnson when he passed! I can truly say that he was a man of God who just wanted to help in any way he could. Mr. Johnson was my contracted lawyer who offered his services to me while I was financially disabled. Even though he passed before he could add another not guily verdict to his long list of victories I thank him for trying to help me and I will miss him. Right now I am still fighting this case and is in need of a lawyer who will help finish what Mr. Johnson start. I am currently being represented by a court appointed lawyer, Mr. Johnson saved me from having to do this can you?

I had a assault case , which was really a hate crime In Rock-wall,Tx.A young man destroyed my Bara Obama yard sign and I pursued him with a weapon. The Grand Jury had me post a $50,000 fine which Mr Johnson had reduced to $874.00.Vernon worked diligently with the District Attorney.to make sure I was not given community service or no Jail time. I paid court cost and probation fees. Vernon worked with me on our fees which was very reasonable and well worth the money. As a criminal defense attorney he is the very best investment that you can make.I thank god for him every day. So If you need a Criminal defense Attorney who has 30 years experience, call Vernon Johnson, Jr @214-418-7500 you won't regret it!
