Horrible. Bugs EVERYWHERE in kitchen. DO NOT GO TO KITARO! The owner (Johnny I think is his name?) Is the biggest jerk I have ever met in my life after finding a toenail in my RICE! DO NOT GO THERE!

They have good food...kind of expensive though. We sat at the hibachi grill, which was a cool experience, but the food wasn't as good as I was expecting it to be. I had sushi, which was fresh, but the food from the grill didn't look that great.

I first tried Kitaro several months ago at lunch and the sushi fell apart on the plate (sushi at Dierbergs looks better). Thought maybe no sushi chef at lunchtime so tried again a few nights ago and my husband and I each got tuna. It was overdone to the point of being hockey pucks, yet the manager would not come speak with us and told the waiter to tell us "eat it first, it will continue cooking". I have had tuna in many places, but never this bad. No discount on the bill or an offer to redo the food--charged full price and given a tiny piece of cheesecake as a peace offering. We will never eat there again.

Everything about this place is wonderful. It has a nice atmosphere, pleasant decorations, and great food. It is a bit pricey, but it is well worth the extra cash spent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends.
