I would not call "Ruocco Equestrian Training" a professional service. She has no professional training and does not hold any type of instructor certifications. (USEA, ARIA, etc.)

After I put my horse into training with her I quickly realized I was being taken for an idiot. Her lessons sometimes are comprised of 6+ people at a time. There is little to no instruction during most of these lessons.

Her training methods are cruel and fueled by her lack of education and experience. Most of her horses in "training" are put into harsh bits (Kimberwicke) or other training devices to make them hold their heads down, creating un-natural movement without giving the horse a proper foundation (ie: basic groundwork, muscle tone and or conditioning). She continuously uses the same tack (ie: saddle) for all horses regardless of the horse's size/confirmation.

Most of her OWN horses are underweight and neglected - poor advertisement for a "trainer".

She is not in the horse business for the right reasons, you will not see her competing in shows or furthering her education by attending clinics. She pushes horses (and riders) into situations that are beyond her control endangering both horse and rider and those around her.

My advice - find someone who knows what they are doing - Ruocco Equestrian Training is a waste of money.

Emily has patience and knows what is best for your horse in training with her. She takes the horse through its' training at an appropriate pace. Emily also teaches riding. Her students love her, and she gets good results. Recommend this business.
