If there is one thing one should do in this world it is enjoy an Echo flotilla down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. The wilderness scenery, whitewater thrills, friendly guides with their smiley humorous dispositions as well as their great ability to navigate you around the big man eater holes and alligator pits makes it a most enjoyable experience. Of course the fact that they also feed you until your ducky is ready to pop is nothing to burp at either. Overall it is an adventure of a lifetime and most of all, I love my ducky!

Where do I even begin? This was to be a very special trip for us, as we would be celebrating my girlfriend's 40th birthday during the trip. Additionally, I wanted to organize the surprise addition of her life-long best friend to the trip, as well as some other very special requests. The coordination between Lexey, Maggie, Janda, and Zach was truly impressive. The pro-active communication from ECHO during the planning of our trip was great. Even though I had many questions and some pretty special requests for this birthday surprise, all of it was handled flawlessly. As far as the actual river trip, well, I can honestly say it was one that we will remember for the rest of our lives. My girlfriend was so surprised and overwhelmed by her amazing birthday trip on the Rogue, she was brought to tears more than once. All of the guides went above and beyond to ensure that she had the time of her life. From saving us a special secluded beach campsite on the night of her birthday to providing amazing personal service throughout the entire trip, each of the guides went out of their way to make this a spectacular experience for us...a truly amazing group of professionals. Throughout the entire trip, all four of our guides displayed poise, confidence, humility, and humor. Whether on the water or off, in the boats or in the kitchen, this crew of gentlemen absolutely made this trip for us. Kudos, and thank you! I can only attempt to express my gratitude to the entire ECHO family for pulling off what could very well be the best trip we've ever had! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!

The Staff was amazing, great food, rafting and views. I went in early May when the water level was higher and it was nice and cool. Tents, sleeping bags were provided and this is what I call luxury camping. We only rafted about 4 hours out of the day and had 3 different types of boats to choose from. I will do this trip again.

Hands down, most AMAZING trip I've been on! {4-day; 3-night trip on the Rogue with ECHO} (And I've been on some pretty cool trips). The scenery was breath taking, the guides were fantastic/fun people with a lot of interesting knowledge/know-how, and the food was delicious. We got to see picturesque waterfalls and a number of wonderful animals (bald eagles, bears, deer, osprey, otters, turtles, salamanders, etc). The guides (Lexey, Billy, JR, and Aaron) made sure we were all safe at all times by giving us informed instruction (and practice) on how to best navigate each rapid (whether you were in an individual inflatable {ducky} or a paddle boat). They were also very knowledgeable about the area and its history which made the trip all the more interesting. We were able to take beautiful hikes to enjoy ourselves and our 'downtime' while they got to work on the fantastic meals. I love to camp but the meals they served us would put a number of restaurants to shame they were so yummy and diverse! (One friend is a very particular eater and they went out of their way to accommodate her). We're already trying to plan our next outing and this time we're taking the kids.
I really can't say enough good things about this trip and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, beautiful, adventure. Simply fabulous all around!

We had the time of our life on a 3 night raft trip down the Rogue River. The Echo crew was amazing. They were great teachers, very knowledgeable about the river, creeks and wildlife and a lot of fun. The food was amazing too! It was a wonderful experience and we are already planning a trip with our children.

The most AMAZING trip! You couldn't ask for a better crew. Each individual guide was well educated and familiar with the Rogue River and surroundings, their rafting experience speaks volumes. A plethora of history opportunities add abundant wildlife add to that the picturesque landscape make for a beautiful float down the Rogue. The food....I can't begin to tell you how delicious and creative our 5 star meals were. With such a professional experienced crew even someone new to paddling or rafting in general will feel at ease and learn quick! Young and old will appreciate all ECHO has to offer! I highly recommend ECHO River Trips.

As a retired river guide, I've done my share of commercial and private river trips over the years. Consequently, my expectations for down-river adventure are very high. When my husband and I signed up to do a trip with ECHO on the Rogue and then, the next summer on the Middle Fork, we experienced a level of professionalism and attentiveness that far surpassed anything I had experienced or could have anticipated.
We had so much fun! The gourmet food, the in-camp entertainment and music, the personable and knowledgeable guides, the efficient operation, and the guides' collective love and inherent respect for the river canyon all stood out as remarkable. But, what I found most significant was the safety-consciousness that is the hallmark of the ECHO operation. The guides are so well-trained that they can ensure a safe and responsible adventure for eager participants from 8 to 80! They can tailor a trip to meet the adrenaline needs of teenagers while assuring a challenging and satisfying experience for families and first time river-runners. It is this ability to help each guest discover his or her confidence in the outdoors that makes a trip down river with ECHO such an incredible and life-affirming experience.

Our ECHO trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon was extraordinary. The totality and quality of services provided exceeded our highest expectations. The Guides were knowledgeable, always attentive to the safety of everyone, and fun and funny. They prepared healthy, fresh meals and snacks, setup and took down our tent, and cleaned up everything. The latter included, literally, everything to keep the environment as pristine as the wilderness should be. ECHO trips are designed for families, couples, and singles to have a great, memorable experience.

My grandson, age 11, and I just completed our third Echo trip overall, and second on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. In a word it was fabulous. We went back to the Middle Fork this year to get the full 100 mile, six day trip. Last year we went in August and the first 25 miles was closed due to low water level.

We enjoyed the Middle Fork so much last year, we just had to come back and check out the rest of the river, and we were not disappointed! The first 25 miles covers completely different terrain than the lower 75 miles. The upper stretch is much more of an alpine setting with trees from the water's edge to the tops of the surrounding mountains. Later on it is rockier, with much less vegatation. During our rafting trip we also saw all manner of wildlife, including a once in a lifetime event. As we rounded a bend, we heard a crashing sound on the river bank. When we turned to see what caused the disturbance we actually saw a large black bear chasing a deer. Fortunately, the deer jumped into the river and swam to safety just before being swatted by the bear. Thankfully, the bear just looked at us, and then moved back up the mountainside.

What was great about the trip was that although it was mostly the same river, it was a totally different trip. Different water level, different guides, different campsites, and different guests made it a totally different experience. The Middle Fork seems to be an ever changing experience, and each time its new all over again. We plan to return and do it again; for the first time.

We had a great time on our Echo Rogue Trip. The guides made it fun, fixed wonderful meals, while never losing sight of our overall safety-which is very important when you are running a river. Having Laurie Lewis and Tom Rozum provide bluegrass music puts the icing on the cake.

I absolutely loved our recent yoga/rafting trip down the Rogue River. My friend Julie and I had dozens of moments where we looked at each other and remarked that this was "a little slice of heaven." It was incredible to be unplugged for four days amidst beautiful scenery and wonderful company.

The guides were friendly, attentive, interesting and experienced - and gave us an absolutely 5-star experience. The food was also incredible - I really could not have asked for anything more. This will definitely be an annual trip for me from here on out.

As if whitewater rafting wasn't enough fun, the Echo Trip we just returned from offered yoga for the whole family (and sometimes the guides too!).
I am not an experienced rafter but I got to pilot my own ducky kayak, paddle a boat with some really fun families. In the few free moments, all ages played games (every played "ninja"?), sang along to some music, and ate really amazing food cooked especially for us, with both vegetarian and meat options.
Was I surprised when we got spice cake with cream cheese frosting the first night, baked in a dutch oven with hot coals, and fresh chocolate brownies (and peanut-butter-chocolate) the second night.
We jumped off big rocks, swam and bobbed around in the river when we got hot, and occasionally participated in unauthorized water play.
I felt like a kid again every day, especially after I took my Advil. Oh and if you like to laugh, wait til you see what the guides have in store for the group as the days zoom by. I wish I was there right now!
Many of us who didn't know each other a short 7 days ago have pinky-sworn to return in 2011. Frankly I'd rather raft with this group again, including the guides and yoga teacher, than go just about anywhere in the world!

Wow, what a fantastic six-day trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River with Echo! I would highly recommend this trip to family, friends and colleagues, without reservation, because of the quality of the guides Echo trains, hires and retains. The guides were extremely knowledgeable about the river, but were also very outgoing, 100% committed to ensuring all participants' needs were take care of, and worked to create a strong sense of community from day 1 of the trip. Moreover, four of the six guides were excellent musicians and entertainers who performed around the campfire most evenings. As with most trips, it really, truly comes down to the people you are around, and that is why I feel so strongly that Echo is a fantastic choice for your river rafting experience. Also, I recommend requesting Tessa, Zach, Billy, Allison, and Rob as your guides.

Our 6 day trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon inJuly was an incredible expereince for all members of our family group, which spanned 3 generatations from the mid- 20's to the mid' 80's. The trip exceeded our expectations in all regards. In addition to the opportunity to spend a week in a spectacular wilderness setting, the Echo guides were expereinced and personable individuals who worked well as a team, kept us safe and comfortable and encouraged everyone to have fun, relax and try new experiences. The food was delicious while the tents, sleeping bags, boats, and other equpiment were in good conditoin. We will defintely use ECHO for our next trip.

As a former guide on the Rogue River, I can say with assurance that ECHO runs great trips. Their guides are the best in the business- safe, professional, fun, knowledgable and GREAT cooks. The trips are family oriented and the Rogue is the perfect river for kids. The food is wonderful with lots of flexibility for special dietary needs. If I were to send my family down the river with an outfitter, ECHO is the first and probably only outfitter I would consider for them. I can't recommend them highly enough!
