.

I was looking for a cool men's haircut place in San Francisco while my wife was at work in the Financial district. I found this barbershop online and made an appointment to come in to try it out. When I got there midday on a weekday, I was greeted by a very friendly host that had me sign up for membership for this place. Membership for a haircut place? It seemed like a cool idea considering you get the benefits of an actual cocktail bar in the same vicinity as where you get your haircut. I tried it out and the cut was satisfactory: there was the cut and a shampoo w/ head rub. Then amenities was a 2-week cleanup and complimentary shoe shine. I went back for a the cleanup and only got cleaned up for the neckline and sideburns... man was a ripped. Then I came too early that the shoe shine guy wasn't in yet. I couldn't come back because finding parking for this place is really rough being a few blocks away. So not only do you have to pay for the membership but you also have to go through the trouble of finding and paying for parking then walking over for the services. I could see this working for the young business professional that worked and could walk there but for an out-of-towner that could only drive in, it was a real inconvenience.

PROs: Good idea for membership forcing you to come in for maintenance on your look, 1 complimentary drink a month, Happy hour offered (never took advantage of this since it was after business hours).
CONs: Parking inconvenient, Clean-up is not what worth it, Expensive membership, better for walking customers.
