My wife and I go into the Buffalo Gap quite frequently and I guess you could now call us regulars. We have yet to have a bad dining experience. The service has always been very good and we enjoy the laid back type atmosphere. It's right down our alley!

This establishment never disappoints. I've held business events here. I've dined here w/ family. I've been here for breakfast, lunch, dinner. I used to frequent here in my younger days after finishing our restaurant shift.

Hands down they take care of you, along w/ their ownership and management.

SIX STAR!

First of all, you have to remember that this is a tavern, not a restaurant. To the sour apple "noisycow" below: you don't take your kids to a tavern for crying out loud, I don't care if it DOES tout itself as a restaurant - because everybody knows it simply isn't. And if you're griping about the consisency of hummus at a bar you've got bigger issues than poor food quality.
The food, the staff, and the atmosphere is just awesome for small groups of adults. My girlfriend and I consider it a nice little drink haunt, too, especially for Blazer games. And the food really is darned good for a tavern; the menu is very extensive, too.
To note: my girl does NOT like fish, but loves The Buffalo Gap's fish n' chips.
We'll be patrons until the doors close.
Oh, yeah: FREE MUSIC HERE - NO COVER!!

Pros: Great food, great prices, great for friends

Cons: Not enough big screen televsions throughout.

Been going here for years. Maybe I have a "home field" bias, but this is always a fun place to stop in and have a drink. The crowd in usually friendly and willing to chat. Bartenders make great drinks. I love their burgers. Wait staff is always enjoyable.

Pros: fun, good location; good drinks

Cons: food not quite as good as it used to be

Whent there tonight and waited also an hour for our food. The Hummus tasted like thin soup. The mushroom burger had no mushrooms on it. The Buffalo wings they recommended for a little kid in the group were red hot. Price was high. Just not a great experience at all.

Pros: Atmosphere, lots of parking

Great place to eat, drink and be merry. The portions are good, their breakfasts are wonderful and they have live music at least 4 nights a week. The Karaoke on Tuesdays is a blast too!

Great food all day long! Servings are plentiful and prices are reasonable. Outdoor seating (weather permitting) and great atmosphere for almost any occasion. The staff never makes you feel rushed and are always willing to occommodate your requests. Not to mention good drinks!! Try the baccon and bleu for breakfast!

Buffalo Gap is a fun place to go and shoot pool. They have good food. The service is good and prices are reasonable. Parking isn't bad either. In a neat little neighborhood too.

We rented their private room for a party and had a great experience! The staff was amazing from planning to execution. I work in the event/catering industry and was genuinely impressed! Great bar food too!

I have been here twice for breakfast now, and it is very, very average. I paid $9 for a scramble dish that was so small, it looked like they used only one egg in it. The cheese in it was partially burnt. The toast was cold and it was the wrong kind from what I ordered. The second time I went there I tried the supposedly "super special" biscuits and gravy. It was a generous helping, but the biscuits were nothing special and the gravy was bland. It tasted like sweet cream. The service can be a little abrupt too. There are a ton of great breakfast places in Portland to choose from and this is definitely not one of them.

Pros: hmmm, TVs to watch sports

Cons: overpriced, overrated

We went to try their buffalo burger. Trendy little saloon & eatery place. They have an e-newsletter giving you the info on upcoming stuff. They also have special buffets on certain days (like Mother's day, etc). The buffalo burger was okay -- I probably won't have it again but I prefer caesar salads with shrimp or salmon.

We held a surprise 50th Birthday Party in their upstairs "Attic" on St. Patrick's Day and it was a total blast. The staff was nice, efficient, helpful, and overall great. Everything went off without a hitch and I'd recommend Buffalo Gap for a private party to anyone.

We had our wedding reception at the Buffalo Gap in early December, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The food was terrific (everyone said so), our bartender, Bobby, and server, Kelly, were fantastic, and several of our guests said they wanted to have an event there. The general manager came up just before the reception started to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. And Julie, who does event coordination, took care of all the preparations...we didn't have to think about a thing! The Buffalo Gap definitely exceeded our expectations! Very highly recommended!

I have been going to the Buffalo Gap for breakfast for years and always had good food. The last time I visited, however, my food was average. They now only give you one piece of toast and the food was not hot.

The Gap is not a see & be scene hang out. This is for normal folk who want to get away from the Il, El, Le, and La's of conceited hangouts. The food is great and the staff go out of their way. I dare you to find a place with as much to choose from. Editorial reviews are for the pretentious. Go stay in the Pearl for that garbage.

Pros: long term staffing, unique ambience, An old piece of Ptown

Cons: can be smoky in parts, can get crowded

Character...character...and character! This is a SALOON BABY! I am from LA and if I want to go have an artistic meal, espensive vino, and 15 people to serve my every need I will go to the London Grill or El Gauchos, but when I want to feel comfortable, catch some good music, lounge around, play some pool, or watch a game this is the place for me. Good people here who will go out of their way, but will toss anyone out onto the street if they are a jack@#!! That's my type of familia!

Not the greatest scene, but a nice place to kick back and relax. They have pool tables and large tables that you can sit at and eat. The service is mediocre and the atmosphere is rather dull, but a great place for a quick bite and drink.

The service was excellent, and the food was much better than I had expected. The band upstairs, 4th plane Jaiant, was a cross between dave mattews band, peter gabriel, and sting, so undoubtebly i was rather impressed. I would recommend this over most Portland venues!!

The pot pie was undercooked and unedible (dough was raw). Salad was served smothered in dressing (even though it was ordered on the side). I would have sent it back but after the waiter threw our food on the table he disappeared. Tried flagging down busboy to send out waiter, twice. Didn't work. After 35 minutes I just wanted out of there, so we went up to the bar to pay our bill. DO NOT GO HERE. I can't stress that enough.
