love it!

by heatherb82

i really love haven! such a nice spot; especially for midtown. they have a really great atmosphere and a good looking crowd of people, from bankers to artists (i'm the latter!).

the happy hour is the best part though, because from 5-830 (double check the time) they have $13 pitchers of mixed drinks. i recently tried the margarita pitcher, but apparently it's different on different nights so you can get cosmos, sangria and more. awesome food too!

great music too!

Pros: great happy hour, burlesque night and great food

Cons: i live too far downtown!

Awful place

by Ryan1999999

The management here is so rude. the drinks are weak and overpriced. There is seriously no reason to go here when there are so many other decent happy hour choices around. Haven thinks it's a trendy club but it's located in the heart of happy hour land and that's the only reason anybody would ever want to go there.

Stay away!

hot spot for a party

by Erikbeatz82

I went to a holiday party at Haven and had the ultimate time. The place has a very unique decor, nothing i have seen before. Awesome music with great beatz were on. The drinks were tasty AND strong which is plus. the upstairs is a relaxing lounge. I def recommend haven to all guys and gals if you are looking to host a private party or event. I didnt try the food (i hear its good) but i am planning my next date there (when i get one haha). I want to try a new wine from their wine list.

Pros: great anytime from dinner to late night

Cons: nothing so far

Great Vibe, Great Drinks!

by melissapapa

Visited with a group of my girls after work last week and loved it! It is the perfect place to cozy up on a date or hang out and chat with the girls. The cocktails were different from the usual bar drinks. The staff was pleasant and willing to explain the tapas on the menu to us. Loved the lobster risotto, although it was a little more expensive than a typical meal. The music was fun and funky and made for a good time.

Ehhhh... You decide.

by Nightowl51

Great Place that could be SOOO much more. Drinks could use work, staff means well, but the place seems confused over what direction to take itself. A "fine" "elegant" tapas restaurant - as the kind General Manager described their menu, or a late night lounge - as the music changes horribly and drastically from jazz standards, random indian music and then house music late at nights. I really do love the decor and the warmth that Haven emits, but be careful of the postings - half of the 5 star ratings are from staff/ownership - Classy. You'll just have to findout for yourself if a $14 dollar cocktail or 20 some dollar lobster risotto that couldn't even fill my light-eating date's appetite is worth it!

Pros: Ambience

Cons: Odd music taste, expensive

Cool bar with really good food.

by jcsalazar84

I recently went to Haven Bar after work for the first time and didn't know what to expect. The place has the strangest, albeit very nice, decor I have seen in a while. All the staff are made of women whom are all dressed like classy ladies of the night They were very nice though. As soon as I started drinking and eating though I knew I made a wise decision. The food portions are not large, but the quality is terrific and the menu is innovative. I have never seen bar food like this before. Really nice options like lamb and risotto. Service was very good and the wine list is wonderful. I did not try any specialty drinks, but the cocktail listing looked terrific. I will be back soon.

Pros: Wine List, Food, Service

Cons: Music, Prices.

You'll Leave Starving

by Cartwright35

I live in Midtown, very close to Haven and anxiously awaited its opening after the old Divine Bar closed last spring. The place looked cool and I had high hopes of discovering a fun restaurant that's close to my apartment. Boy am I disappointed!

Haven is a dirty bar with a nursery school worthy staff that acts like they're actors in a play about a restaurant, rather that actual employees of a restaurant.

The menu is extremely limited. The portions are small and the prices are astronomical. The chef is continuously rushing through the dining room with an enraged look on his face. And the cocktail waitresses aimlessly wander around the place without noticing that you want a drink or need your table cleared.

Where is the management? Are they deaf? Do they notice the music is blaring to the point where it sounds distorted depending upon how close you are seated to the speakers? Do they see how dirty the place looks?

The guy who owns the place is a know it all who preferred to argue with my husband about portion sizes rather than give us another the second round of appetizers we were trying to order. After spending more than $200 on food, we left hungry feeling like we were robbed.

It's nice and all that this is a "sharing restaurant" with small plates designed by to be tasted by a group, but if you don't give enough food for one person, how in the world are we supposed to share the dishes? Oh I get it! We're supposed to order more of the overpriced food, but if you don't come to the table to offer us more, how are we supposed to get more food? We tried to flag down the waitress but she was too busy adjusting her garish get up to notice us. At least she was nice when she finally came to the table. But that owner! Good Lord! He's so busy bragging about his experience in "three star" restaurants to give a hoot about the customers.

Haven is the worst.

Pros: location

Cons: terrible service, small portions, expensive, dirty

Cool decor and nice vibe

by musiqnu

I really can't wait to go back for drinks and dancing for Halloween this Friday! I am relieved to find that my expectation was exceeded since I am bringing 10 of my girlfriends there for the Halloween Party!

Pricey as hell, but they do a nice job.

by duckfatlover

The drinks are good, the wine list is truly fantastic...a lot of "cork dork" wines for a bar. Food was good too, although the menu is limited. Nice group of kids working the bar and floor too.

Pros: Ambiance, food quality, drinks, service, wine list!

Cons: Limited food menu, portion size, no happy hour and high prices.

Great restaurant with a cool vibe

by JustinKelly

This place is very cool with a hip atomosphere. Boy did Midtown need it. The small plates were great and I loved the lobster risotto. One of the girls gave us really great service and we look forward to going back. The only thing that I can mention on the bad side was that the music was too loud but this is a place that everyone should go to.

Pros: Great atmosphere and food with a cool vibe

Cons: The music was too loud

Cool Lounge, but not a "Club/Party" Atmosphere

by ManhattanMartini

Since it only opened a few weeks ago, I will give it time to iron out the kinks (ie better bartenders, as I saw one girl dip her starw into a clients drink TWICE. Bet they didn't pay extra for your germs!) The atmosphere is very gentlemen's lounge, with a red motif and leather everywhere. However, be careful where you step! There are so many stairs and hidden steps its almost impossible NOT to trip!

I didn't have dinner here, but did have a specialty martini, the Lolita, which was sweet but delicious, but at $14 I wouldn't go for seconds!

I liked the atmosphere and this place has a lot of potential, I would come back in a month or so to see if they made any management or pricing changes.

Pros: Cool/unique atmosphere, interesting drinks

Cons: SLOW/unprofessional staff, lots of stairs (don't go here drunk or you'll fall!) fairly small

Avoid this place

by cajacarev

This place was really terrible. We thought it would be a chill, interesting environment, but the crowd is loud and obnoxious, somewhat trashy (I really can't think of a better word..tacky maybe?), the drinks are wayyy overpriced. There are plenty of better places with better crowds and prices to go to--this one you can definitely skip.

Pros: cool wallpaper to look at

Cons: terrible crowd/atmosphere, overpriced
