We love the pupusas here but don't enjoy the long wait for the food. Been coming here for many years and will keep coming back though. Food is fresh

Where else can you go and feed your family for less than $50. And everyone is completely satisfied. The best papusas I've ever had anywhere! This is the first place I go whenever I am in San Francisco. And fried plantains with crema. Perfect.

El Zocalo has the best pupusas. Pupusas are ground corn pockets filled with either cheese, meat and/or beans. They are grilled and melt in your mouth and are served with a cabbage relish that compliments the pupusas flavors.

if you feel like having some pupusas after the club this is the place to be. they are open late night, so if you are hungry and are already in the city, it's convenient. i've only had the pupusa plates and i've always been pleased

I like this place for it's pupusas, they are really good, packed with meat and the masa is perfectly chewy. They also have Mexican selections which are ok, not as good as the pupusas. If you want a good deal, go for the "plato tipico", it's 2 pupusas, a fried empanada (filled with meat), and a Salvadorean tostada, it goes for about $6.50 or so. They have a great drink called "Cola Champagne", tastes like bubble gum... yum.>>>Theie service is definitely on Latin time...super slow. You don't go to this restaurant for they service, only for the food. ALthough, most of the servers are nice, not too professional.>>>This is also a great place to go late at night if you've been out all night drinking and need some grub, it's open until 4 am.>>>This place is super good for pupusas!

Pros: Great Pupusas, Open Until 4am, Unpretentious Crowd

Cons: Really Slow Service, Loud Noises Coming From Kitchen

They have the best papusas in the city here. You definitely do not come to this place for the service. The staff seems to be friends and family and is not overly professional but the food makes everything worth it.

On the order of the reviews, I went and ate pupusas, platains, and tamales. They were all quite tasty but I have to warn the uninitiated...mostly starch (not that I'm complaining).

This unpretentious restaurant---with its fake-leather booths crammed into a narrow, deep room---is undoubtedly one of the few places in the Bay Area where you can get a decent whole steamed or fried red snapper at 2 a.m. If you aren't in a…
