I'm thrilled to have found someone who listens to what I want on MY head. Maite really knows how to work with curly hair. She can style it naturally in a polished way or blowdry it out as smooth as silk. My cut was beautiful and has lasted much longer than I expected. I loved that I learned more about how to care for my hair and what I was doing wrong. I'm looking forward to my next appointment.

Based on all the reviews I booked an appointment with Dirk and have never been so sorry in my life. I don't know who the people are giving good reviews. Yes the salon is nice but it doesn't make up for a horrible haircut. I was lectured on how to take care of my hair and given a choppy uneven mess that will take at least 6 months to grow out. I specifically asked that the front not be cut short - I consider cutting off at least 4 inches to my cheekbones short. Please save yourself some misery and go somewhere else.

Just love this place. No detail has been overlooked in the execution - from the velcro close robes, the real door dressing room, great magazines, friendly staff, wonderfully long shampoos to the great haircut and color. Its truly an oasis where you step out looking a lot better looking than when you stepped in.

I recently decided to get my hair cut short and didn't know where to go. My friend Michelle recommended Maria at Bradley and Diegel and I am forever grateful to her for this.

Maria is awesome! She listens to your concerns and is not afraid to let you know if some of your ideas won't work for you. I have received so many complements on my haircut and everyone is asking where I have it done. She's super talented and very professional.

I followed my stylist here and I absolutely love this salon. All of the staff is great, very friendly and welcoming! Salon is beautiful! It is quieter than some, which is very nice. The chairs when you get your hair washed are massaging chairs! It doesn't get much better than this salon!!

Just writing to say that if you want a great cut that is easy to maintain and amazing color, please see Alex at Bradley and Diegel on Newbury Street.

Alex is an expert in her field. She rescued me from a challenging color situation and I feel like a new person.

The salon is beautiful and everyone who works there is very friendly. If you want to like your hair everyday (and who doesn?t?) head on over to Bradley and Diegel. From what I have seen everyone who works there does a fabulous job and is very nice. A perfect combination.

I followed my stylist, Laurie, to Bradley and Diegel Salon and would probably follow her anywhere but the new salon is wonderful. I received a genuine warm welcoming as I checked in and between the massage chairs and scalp massage I didn't want my shampooing to end! Laurie is a gifted and professional stylist keeping up with the newest cutting and coloring techniques, my hair is always flawless when I leave. I have recommended Laurie to several friends and family who are all now very happy clients of hers. The salon is conveniently located to the Arlington T stop for anyone who doesn't want to deal with trying to find parking on Newbury Street.

My hairdresser moved salons and I couldn't be more happy about the place she is now. It's very professionally run, calm and full of a really pleasant staff. When I was getting my hair washed the chair was a massage chair!!!!!!!! It was the most relaxing shampoo I have ever had.

I drove from Dighton to come into town and have Maite Lopez from Bradley & Diegel color and cut my hair. This salon is great. Paul gives the best head massage while washing/rinsing your hair. Oh, and the massage chairs work great, which is an added bonus. Maite is truly an artist at work. She gives honest suggestions as to what color would be good for your complexion as well as a hair style/cut that would compliment the shape of your face. She takes her time cutting. You always feel it's just you and her there. I will add that for a Newbury Street salon, this salon is so down to earth and relaxing. I recommend it and recommend Maite in particular.

Dirk has an outstanding record as the Best Haircutter in Boston, having won this award numerous times before. His skill level and professionalism cannot be matched anywhere in the city. I've been going to Laurie for a little over a year, and she always does a great job. She is extremely patient, yet efficient, and always pays close attention to detail. She will do what it takes to make her clients happy. Laurie is a color perfectionist and will work with you to get the exact color you want. I'm looking forward to seeing her this week!

I am a 52 year old woman who would crawl on glass to have Laurie Hamilton cut and color my hair. She makes me look fabulous, very fresh and modern.
An anti-aging haircut and color.
My hair has never looked better, and everybody remarks on the color. It's the same color as my 5 year old granddaughter!
I have been going to her for over 4 years, and it was the best discovery. Highly recommended.

One needs many superlatives to describe the salon staff, the space and the friendly, yet professional care one receives with every visit to Bradley and Diegel. I travel ~ 18 miles from the western burbs for my hair care and wouldn't have it any other way. With every cut and color I receive many complements. I have even received them from work colleagues who don't normally remark on business let alone one's personal looks.... Over the years I have had my hair cut and colored at many other "haute" salons on Newbury Street but B& D is by far the very best....well worth the travel and the money!! If you want a new and radiant look....head on over to 77 Newbury St!!

When my graying tresses called out for help, I turned to Lynn several years ago and was delighted by her masterful understanding of color. Naturally, I followed her to the new salon and continue to be amazed by her instinct , expertise and ability to always put just the right highlights and natural tones in my hair. Just as important is her lovely personality - she is a delightful person, as well as being one of the top in her profession. Her years of experience enable her to look at a client's hair and create just the right look. The new salon is conveniently located, quietly elegant, yet not pretentious. I wish them the best.

The salon is very "zen" -- relaxing, clean, quiet, and they have excellent tea. Dirk Diegel has been cutting my hair for years. The price is worth it --- Dirk is the master of precision, and his cuts last a long time. I had him change my style the last time, and people actually complimented me on the lines and angles of the cut. Dirk also is super talented and gentle with a blowdryer on my thick hair. He has won Best of Boston awards for his cutting.

My hair stylist recently moved to this salon so I decided to try it out and I loved it! The staff were very friendly and immediately offered my a variety of beverages. The charis at the shampoo station give you a back masage and the person who washed my hair gave me a scalp massage. My haircut was fabulous, as usual, since I followed my stylist here, but I love the new location much better than my stylists old salon. It is a bit expensive, but it is totally worth the money!

Since my great haircut here, I've received dozens of compliments on my overall look. Best of all, I feel that I finally have hair that suits me and that moves with me. From the time I walked into the salon, I had a feeling of calm and confidence. I loved the decor with live orchids in beautiful terrariums (can you tell I like plants?) the artful but warm white space, and the humor and friendliness of the staff. I felt that above everything, they cared about my looking my best and being comfortable (and thrilled) with the results. Although this is clearly haircutting at the highest level there is not a speck of snootiness. I am a queen-size woman and I was so happy that the smock fit me comfortably and kept me warm, and that the hair design complimented my proportions. I had some previous color problems that were creatively solved, and all my questions were answered thoroughly. I waited to write the review until I had styled my hair at home, and it still looks great--for me that is the real test. Thanks for a wonderful job!

Bradley & Diegel offers first class hair care service in a highly attractive but not overwhelming environment. Great technique on cuts and color is combined with a pleasant, pampered hair wash and rinse experience. The salon is divided into pleasing spaces that afford you privacy and keep the noise level from rising. I highly recommend it.

Dirk has cut my hair for years and he is so meticulous about his cuts I would never consider going to anyone else.You can see his mind working as he cuts. He is never on autopilot. And he is keeping the new stylists on staff here keep up to his standards. I'm so happy to see him open a salon on Newbury that offers high quality instead of high drama.

I cannot say enough about the friendliness of this salon as well as the quality of the services I receive. I have received comments from strangers while shopping on how great my hair looks as well as my color. Peter and Lynn are the best!! The salon itself is beautiful and a pleasure to come to. The location is perfect. I travel 2 hours from Connecticut every 4 weeks just to see them so that is saying something. Give them a try and you will not be disappointed!!

I went there for the first time today get my color corrected. The saloon is all the rage for cut but I figured if they can get Best of Boston for cut then they can certainly color with the best of them. My problem was that my hair was way too black from over processing. This is a difficult problem to fix and several saloons in Boston had failed to correct it in the past. (One of them award winning for color if you can believe that.)Bradley & Diegel exceeded my expectactions.

The stately entrance to 77 Newbury readies you for a regal experience- a haircut at Bradley and Diegel. Once inside and upstairs, you're comforted by quiet white walls and carefully placed edges - the atmosphere exudes clean warmth.

The service is tremendous - and vastly more accomodating than at the other two Newbury Salons I'm able to compare it to: Vidal and James Joseph.

But what's most important - the haircut - is what truly makes Bradley and Diegel the only salon I've found over many years in Boston that's truly worthy of the coveted "Best of Boston" award. At Bradley and Diegel, hairdressing is an art. The shear becomes paintbrush, your hair - the canvas, and you'd rather watch the artist behind you create your very own living masterpiece than struggle through the same small talk that plagues so many lesser salons. If a salon is a place for you simply to chat - Bradley and Diegel is not for you.

However, If you are ready to discard all preconceived notions of what a salon, hairdresser should be/is capable of - then you will have finally found home at Bradley and Diegel. I'm glad my search is through.

And for those of you whom only the best will do - I strongly urge you to meet with Dirk Diegel. He is a true artist and virtuoso of his craft. As soon as Dirk's paintbrush touches his canvas you become acutely aware that Dirk Diegel is capable of things that others simply aren't. He is hairdressing's Monet. Words, however, can not do Dirk proper justice - you must experience this many times "Best of Boston" winner yourself.

The space is elegant and the massage chairs are cool (once you get over the initial reaction which I'd characterize as a sort of pleasant anxiety - I just didn't know what was going on when the chair started moving) as other reviewers have noted but the thing that will make you go back is the precision and seriousness of purpose that the stylists bring to their jobs. If you're looking for romper room with everyone talking and looking out the window and you want your head snipped at indiscriminately there are at least a half dozen places for you on Newbury Street. However if you want the best haircut in Boston go to Bradley and Diegel.

I've never had an experience like that whilst getting my hair washed!! It was wonderful - fully reclining chair like you're in Virgin First Class, and the greatest head massage. It left me absolutely relaxed and ready to have a really open consultation with my hairdresser. I had Maria, and I fully recommend her, she really listens and understands. I totally love my cut. Overall, an unpretentious young salon with lots of promise and a ton of skill - try 'em!

Was a walking after hearing about this new salon with European flare as the two owners are both from Europe. Was immediately welcomed and but ease as i did not have an appoint. Fortunately was able to see Alex. She spent time with me listening to me to find out exactly what I wanted and pulled it off perfectly . Alex's attention to detail and the whole Bradley Diegel experience will bring me back again and again.

Between Lynn, Dirkschen, & Peter it is an outstanding team!
I am so Happy they finally opened the salon.
Peter Bradley & Dirkschen have been doing my hair intermitently for years, those two, I swap between, but Lynn is trully irreplasable, best presice highlights!
I live between Miami & Boston, & I am so happy with these people in Boston, and my people in Miami Beach.
