Tabasco Mexican Restaurant

I love Tabasco not just for the food, which is very good, but for the incredibly friendly service. The staff just could not be nicer -- but they are not hovering or overbearing, just really welcoming and accommodating. The menu includes all the typical Mexican Restaurant fare -- burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, etc -- and also entrees that you will not find everywhere else. The Pollo Mexicano is delicious and, though a huge portion, on the lighter side as it does not have a heavy sauce or cheese. The Masitas de Puerco is delicious as long as you are not on a diet -- the pork here is not the lean, bland pork chops you find at the supermarket, but a tastier, fattier cut cooked slowly until coming apart (like a good pot roast). They have a kid's menu, which includes vanilla ice cream for dessert -- which means my kids are always excited to go to Tabasco and on their best behavior throughout the meal. The prices are reasonable for the quality and large portions.
