This small cafe serves excellent authentic French crepes and Brussels Waffles (the waffle maker was imported direct from Belgium!). The sweet crepes come in a variety of flavors (including fig and currant spreads, honey, strawberry, banana, chocolate, sugar, etc.) and range in price from $3.50 to $4.50. True to European standards, they are not overly filling, but at that price point are a nice intermediate option between a pastry and a full breakfast/brunch item. To date, the fig is my favorite. The savory crepes include turkey, ham, spinach and mushroom. They are also modestly priced, between $6.00 and $7.00, with a $1.50 up charge for additional ham or turkey for those who wish for a more filling entree. I had the turkey with Creme Fraiche, and was extremely impressed. The owner and chef Jean Luc, attributes the lightness of dough in his savory crepes to his use of a mixture of buckwheat and white flower. Also, the coffee is excellent, roasted uniquely for this cafe, with chocolate notes. For in-house purchases, a cup costs $2.00 with a refill for 75 cents. The ambiance is warm, with appropriate music selections and volume for a cafe setting. However, the chairs and tables are of the outdoor metal variety. I have been informed by the owner that they are temporary stand-ins for the eventual wooden tables once funding is available.Free wireless Internet is available (just ask for the pass code). Payment is cash only and service can be slow for larger parties, as there is only one waffle iron and one crepe maker behind the bar.
