Gregory's Fine Tailoring is by far the absolute best tailoring service in Boston. Being the procrastinator I am, I went shopping for a dress Thursday during the day that I needed to wear for a formal event Friday night. I found a dress I loved, but of course it was the only one left of that style in the entire store. I tried it on and the fit was completely off, but I decided to buy it anyways. I desperately called every tailor in Boston trying to get someone who would let me drop it off Thursday night, do the alterations I needed, and have it ready to be picked up Friday evening before my event. NO ONE would do it for me!
I found Gregory's Fine Tailoring from other reviews and decided to give him a call. He picked up, I explained the situation and even though he was supposed to close at 7 pm and this phone call took place at 5:30 pm, he told me to bring the dress to his shop. I frantically brought the dress to his store, and of course there was a line of people when I got there. I was panicking but when Greg greeted me he was kind and calm. I told him my dilemma (it was now 6:30) and he kindly offered to do the alterations I needed on the spot! Let me just say, he completely transformed by dress. The dress went from being a last minute attempt to look presentable at a formal event, to a dress in which I spent the entire night getting showered with compliments. He is a truly a wonderful person and he knows his craftsmanship to the T, I will now be bringing every item I ever need altered to Gregory and you all should do the same!!
The service I get here is absolutely amazing. Gregory is really nice and really great he knows exactly what he is doing!

Work on my jacket, which I was told would be finished in two weeks, was not done over three months later, and in fact was never fully done. I was never called about the status of the work. I was lied to several times about when the work would be finished. I demanded the return of my jacket twice in person and was refused each time. In the end, I was able to get my jacket back only by threatening to sue for triple damages, at which point Gregory finally returned my jacket; to his credit, he refunded my deposit in full and actually did some of the requested work, albeit with mediocre quality.

I walked in hoping there was a chance I could have a button which was about to fall off my leather jacket reaffixed in a matter of hours so I wouldn't have to leave it there overnight and go home without a jacket. Gregory took care of it in time and actually reattached all four buttons at no extra charge! I was impressed and grateful. I'll definitely go there again if I need any kind of tailoring or alterations. It's also right across the street from where I work!
Gregory is a gifted tailor and an asset to the Boston community. I have not been able to get business shirts to fit comfortably because of my 19.5 inch neck and average build. Even 2 previous custom shirt makers could not get it right.
The third time is a charm. Gregory loves his trade and it shows as he met the challenge and i am comfortable wearing a tie for the first time.

I trusted Gregory enough to pay him in advance to have invisible mending done on some trousers. Now, almost four months later, all I hear is 'I'll go tomorrow to get them.'
Now he's never there when we call -- and I don't have my trousers!

I recently bought a suit at Gregory's and all of the tailoring was done at the store. It was very impressive considering the work that needed to get done - sleeves needed to be lengthened with fabric from the pants, jacket taken in because of broad shoulders requiring larger jacket, and waist and rear taken in to fit athletic build legs. It was all done on a suit with a pattern, and the seams were stitched such that the pattern was flawlessly kept intact. Gregory also was very helpful in explaining the process of all of the alterations that needed to be done, keeping me in the loop. I will take any and all future tailoring work here!
Gregory bought custom made zippers from our small family business last November and still hasn't paid for them. He promises and promises but you need to get someone who he doesn't know to call so he will not know the caller ID.
Seems like a nice guy, that's why our salesman asked us to give him an open account. BAD IDEA!

Great service! I heard about Gregory from a friend. This guy takes his job very seriously. He kept a great deal of focus to the details I mentioned as well as to some not so good experiences I had before. He gave his input in a very pleasant way and the results were good. In all, I got friendly and serious service at a reasonable price for the area. My new tailor.
If you need tailor and live or work in downtown crossing, you should definitely try Gregory's. I have used him multiple time since he opened last summer 2008 and have no complaints, only praise. I get my jeans and suits done there and he is very prompt and does a fantastic job regardless of what you give him. When I've been in a pinch and needed something done quick he has never said no. Very reasonable pricing - I've been to alot of other tailors over the years and for the quality of work he does and quick turnaround time, he can't be beat!
Hands down Gregory's is the best Tailor in Boston. I went in there recently with some shirts that did not fit me perfectly. The alterations that Greg did to my shirts made it look like he had custom made them for me. He did this within days for me. I have been to many tailors in my time, and can honestly say I have not met one with Greg's passion for the craft and attention to detail.
The shirts and suits that Greg does custom make, are well worth the money. You will look like a million dollars without spending a million dollars. For a true custom shirt or suit, Greg is the only choice in Boston. I would recommend him to anybody. On top of this Greg really gives terrific service.
I recently moved here from out of town and have been looking for a quality tailor in the financial district and this is the place. I had a funeral and wake to attend and Gregory had me ready to go in less than 1 day. He hemmed my pants and removed additional cloth to provide best possible fit. The suit looked great and I won't go anywhere else. I highly recommend him for any tailor or custom clothing needs.
