As for the dental work itself, everything was clearly explained to me beforehand and things went very smoothly and painlessly during the procedures. My crowns are perfectly in place and I've had no problems whatsoever since. The prices were also counter-intuitively reasonable given the quality of their work!

The wait was a bit long but it was not only our first appointment but an emergency appointment and was well worth the wait for Dr. Holden and his great bedside or chair side rather, manner with my slightly terrified daughter. She had her 2nd tooth crack/filling lost in less than a month so she was very nervous about having to have some sort of scary procedure. Turns out she just needed a filling and I appreciated Dr. Holden's recommendation to go with the silver filling because they last longer. She's lost a few of the white fillings and since they cost more, I appreciate feeling okay about getting the silver fillings.I was so happy with the friendly staff, online appointment scheduling and with Dr. Holden that I am going to switch the whole family

I was extremely displeased with the customer service upon my visit on October 7. Despite arriving together, my paperwork was completed and new appointments scheduled but we waited over an hour and no one ever followed up on my husband??s appointment. I had to call over and over and no one returned my calls. The lack of follow-up to schedule my husband??s appointment led me to cancel my own appointment on Oct 21 and requested dental records to see another dentist.
I picked up our records on Oct 31 and proceeded to change our DMO to Sure Smile for our first appointment on Nov 4.
Today, I found out a false insurance claim was made by Concerned Dental of Westchester under my Husband??s name for Dec 13.
This is Insurance fraud!! I have already notified my insurance company and requested an investigation into this false claim!

I was having some bleeding in my gums and went to Concerned Dental to have them checked out. They were able to tell me exactly what was wrong, fixed the problem and told me how to prevent it from happening again. I hadn't been to the dentist in years due to a few bad experiences with other dentists so I knew I needed extensive work done. I started my dental work in December of 2009. Now 6 and a half months, 6 Crowns and verious other fixes to my teeth later (and I still have a couple more appointments) I am more than happy. Her work has been quick, precise and pain free.

She was quick to asses what was needed and only what was needed. Quick to do the work and with precision. By precision I mean that each needle I needed went in the exact spot to numb only the specific area. Anyone who has ever needed a shot for dental work has experienced that half of the face numbing just so they could work on a tiny area in your mouth. The shots I had where nothing like that.

For example when I had work done on one of my front side teeth, I was surprized that only that tooth and the underside of the tip of my toung was numb...Just perfect. Not to mention that out of the 10-12 needles I have had so far I have barely been able to tell when she actually sticks me. That's awesome.

All of the temporary crowns she crafted fit nice and she even remade one after my crown lengthening surgery to be sure it was correct. All six of my crowns fit perfectly. She even sent one back because the color was just slightly off.

I don't know what some have been complaining on here about her. Poor bedside manner? Whatever that means...Because she didn't sit down and chit chat with you? If you want someone to chat with whie you sit in a chair...Find a "Therapist"

Someone else wrote she does everything in Haste...I have to agree and she gets the job done right. Sorry, did you want a skow dentis? If so then your right, don't see her expecting slow work.

The place is "NOT" dirty. The offices are clean, the rooms and chairs are clean.

The only complaints I would make would be the schedualing. Because she is so busy it was hard to get the appointments I wanted for the work I needed. Also the treatment coordinater tended to be more like a used car sales women. You should know what you want and need before talking to her and specialy before signing anything. "Know your dental plan"

All this time and money has been well spent. I would highly recommend Dr Getz to anyone. As far as proffesionals go I would say shes at the top of the list.

I am always very scared when it comes to going to the dentist. I actually am so scared that i could cry usually.
But Dr. Gedz changed all this. I am now comfortable going to her (and onl yher). She puts you at ease, explains what she's going to do and what's happening with your teeth in a clear and explicit manner. I thank her for being so kind with a chicken like me.

I'm a new patient of Dr. Gedz. Both times I've seen her, she made the experience of sitting in a dentist's chair very comfortable. I usually dread going to the dentist, and I'm very afraid of needles, but somehow, Dr Gedz made the experience of sticking a needle in my gums and drilling my tooth a pleasant one. Not to mention, she fitted the perfect crown for my tooth. Only one adjustment was needed. Dr Gedz is an excellent professional with soft hands, a vibrant personality and genuine Concern for this patient. Fitting that she is a part of Concerned Dental Care! Dr. Gedz get the Gold Star!

Dr. Gedz is my dentist. I went through a lot of bad experience before I have met here. I was in trouble with my dental situation and was afraid to go to the doctor. When I met her she made my long way through painless and pleasant. Everything was done in timely matter with a great concern about my dental and general health.
She was very friendly, highly professional. She explained to me everything before hand, so I'ld know what to expect.
After I was finished and very pleased with work done i recommended her to my family and friends. I was very upset to read the such a negative impression of her.

Did a lot of search before choosing my dentist, had a coworker recommend this place to me. I had to get all the strength and not to mention all the pain to go visit a dentist, as i am sure most of you would agree.

Needless to say, i found some negative and some positive reviews but just like with everything else i took it with a grain of salt and finally decided to go (not to mention that i was near my office).

Am i glad i chose Dr. Gedz, i don't think i'll be fearful of going to a dentist again anytime soon. She was very nice and patient. She also made sure that i am comfy all through the procedure. She seems to have very soft hands. I am scheduled to go again next week and i have to admit that i no longer dread the arrival of that day.

One other thing i'd like to mentioned is that it seems to me (clearly based on my experience) is that who ever wrote the negative review below has been writing it all over the web and it would seem to me to have it out for Dr. Gedz.

I would urge anyone to give her a chance.

I had my worst experience abouyt a year ago with Dr. Gedz. I just logged into this website and saw some positive reviews on her, in addition to the many negative ones.
Please, please, do not go to her!!! She is the worst dentist I have ever gone to. I had a crown done - first of all her bedside manner was awful, she did everything in a haste, did not listen to the fact that my crown felt uncomfortable, and she kicked me out of the office while my cheeks were throbbing with pain & discomfort. Needless to say, this crown had to be replaced.
Dr. Holden (same office) did the replacement. He is GREAT! I recommended him to several of my friends and colleagues at work. He is knowledgeable, has a great attitude and is very patient.
I have no idea why anyone would keep Dr. Gedz at this practice - c'mon, she's a drain on revenues. I mean seriously, if you can get someone like Dr. Holden to do such a great job, why would you spoil the reputation of the office by keeping Dr. Gedz on the books?

I was just seen due to an emergency. Concerned Dental saw me quickly...they sqeezed me in to their very busy schedule. The doctor was kind, professional, and very attentive. This is the first time I am writing a review and I could not disagree more with the Yelp reviews from the past that were posted recently. Trips to the dentist are never fun but this visit was seamless from start to finish. I highly recommend Dr. Gedz.

12/5/2006 I had one of my worst dentist experiences here. The facilities were extremely dirty and unkempt--patient chairs which had tears in them.
The staff was extremely unfriendly and appeared as if they did not even care about you or your teeth for that matter.
I was praying that I didn't have any cavities as I was afraid to go back. It was the first time I have left a dentist and had my teeth feel dirtier than when I came in.
Sadly, after a year living in the city I still have not found a good dentist.

I would highly recommend steering clear of this place. Dr. Gedz was incredibly rude, the staff was incredibly rude (fighting with customers while I stood there) and the whole experience was horrible..
I have great teeth and no cavities and usually do not mind going to the dentist.
I have never written an online review for anything....but this was necessary. i found a great dentist Manhattan oacis on the UWS based on other yelp reviews and it is great! Every thing about it is a pleasure.

1/19/2009 I came here based on a recommendation from a former coworker - what a bad recommendation! First - it took them 5 months to set up the appointment (partly my insurance fault partly Concerned Dental fault). When I finally came in they told me I need all this different work (keep in mind that I brush and floss and have not had real problems but they seemed to find everything possible to fix). Without asking me what it is that I'd like to do I was dragged into a room where the ''billing specialist" signed me up for a credit line without once again asking or explaining what I was paying for. Long story short I ended up doing research and found out that I was being overcharged and that 90% of the info was not divulged to me. When I called to adjust my credit line I received attitude and no help at all. Since then I have received horrible help via phone. After the numerous procedures that were done to my teeth my mouth was killing me and after two weeks of continuous pain (went through a bottle of aspirin) the staff refused to schedule me an emergency apt...I saw a dentist 2 weeks later.

In addition - I went back where I grew up and saw my old dentist who said that everything that they did was done poorly and might actually end up damaging my teeth later down the line.

2/4/2009 While the hygienists were nice and professional, I cannot say the same for their dentists. Dr. Gedz was rude to the hygienist who approached her to come by and finish my check up because according to my file, she was not "assigned" to me and therefore could not be bothered. I was then asked by Dr. Gedz if I wouldn't mind waiting 30 minutes for my "assigned" dentist to show up, to which I replied no because I had to go to work. With an air of clear irritation, she looked me over for less than a minute, took a look at my x-rays and told me I needed to have a cavity filled. Only problem with that is, the x-ray had been taken 6-months ago! Wish I had been told then.

5/26/2008 I visited this dental clinic 3x prior as i had some cavities and needed to make a mouth guard. Given that it is so difficult to find a good dentist in manhattan, i decided to stay with them. Just this weekend, i had an a bad fall on my chin and 'chipped' my 2 front teeth. I called the dentist office only to find myself defending that I am a regular patient of the clinic. After they had finally found my records, they rejected my request to have an urgent appt because they were closing. Instead, they gave me the health insurance emergency number! I was very disappointed with them and will not visit them again.

I have been going to Concerned Dental for 9 months and have had major dental work done. I am completely satisfied with the services I have received.
Dr Gedz set up a comprehensive plan and was always caring, meticulous, personable and very professional.
They also have specialists so you don't have to go elsewhere for periodontal and endodontic procedures.

Let me start by saying I have been going to this office since I moved to NY 14 yrs ago.
I go, or at least try to, every 6 months for a check-up and cleaning, and once a year for X-rays.
My smile is very important to my career and I have placed my trust in Dr. Gedz and the rest of the friendly staff there and will continue to do so as long as live in NYC.

This is my first dentist in the city and was referred by one of the execs at my office. I haven't been to a dentist in about 4 years and I came to see Dr. Gedz for a teeth check up. She found 5 cavities to which have been taken care of with great professionalism and care.

Every time I come to the office the staff along with Dr. Gedz all have amazing attitudes and are eager to assist me. The visits are quick, which is exactly what I need with my work schedule.

I am actually quite shocked at the negative review below for I am extremely happy with Concerned Dental. I have been referring them to everybody I know that doesn't have a dentist in the city.

I've been coming to this office for close to 2 years now and have had a variety of procedures, from the simple routine cleanings to fillings and a crown. The work was done very methodically and with great care/attention. Never had any complaints or complications after an appointment. My dentist, Dr. Gedz works very well and does the work pretty quickly which is important to me because I'm always running around and don't have 2 hours to spend on an appointment.

Strange review from the previous person, I'm also 25 years old and can't say I have had any similar experiences at this office in terms of any issues with pricing or treatment plans. Actually had a different dentist in San Francisco before moving to New York who recommended a few things and Dr. Gedz told me they were unnecessary. Overall, have been very happy with this office and my dentist.

I went to "Concerned" because I just switched to DMO. Although it difficult to find a good dentist that takes dmo, there are some reputable places out there, but this is not one of them.

I was tricked into going to this place by the abundance of good reviews, but from my personal experience, I would say the standards of the place are very low and many of the procedures are "questionable" at best.

Let me start by saying that I go to the dentist frequently and I knew going in that I would need at least 1 crown, since it has not been too long since I saw my last dentist. However, the dentist I saw, dr. Gedz, looked at my xrays for less than 1 min and devised a list of procedures that would amount to over $5,000 out of pocket worth of work. (of which included at least 6 crowns....I am only 25 years old). The doctor would not answer any of my questions and rushed me to make more appointments soon. The only person who would spend time talking to me was the "bill specialist" who offered me a line of credit to pay for the expensive and unnecessary list of procedures that the dentist came up with in less than 5 minutes!

Since I am a sensible person I asked for my records and spent less than $100 to see my old dentist in order to find out more about this "treatment plan". Not only did I find out that many of the procedures were aggressive and unnecessary at this time, but the costs were excessive.

Beware of the good reviews here:

The good reviews that cite the fact that they have a whole new set of crowns disgusts me and I don't believe that is a legitimate review. When you have a crown done, it means your tooth is basically gone. It just happens to be a procedure that is expensive and requires a lot of maintenance (follow-up visits). Any procedure that involves a crown is like a "Cash-Crop" for a dentist that accepts a DMO's and I think the way they push this procedure is evidence of the "questionable" practices at "Concerned Dental".

Summary of my thoughts:

This place appears to be systematically doing unnecessary procedures and overcharging for them.

I would find another dentist.

If you cannot find another dentist:

Confirm what procedures are necessary with another dentist (outside of dmo network...it is worth whatever cost you pay, which will be minimal compared to what this place will milk you for). It is your legal right to ask for your medical records (your xrays) in order to do this. Simply say you like to keep a copy of your xrays with your dentist back home for emergencys. Then YOU tell them what you want done, and confirm with your insurance company that they are billing you properly BEFORE you have anything done.

Warning DO NOT GO HERE!!!

I had a really bad tooth ache- so after reading some of the reviews and since my old dentist was no longer covered in my in-network I made an appointment with Concerned Dental Care. What a mistake! When I first arrived- the office was very dark, dirty and dingy. I waited for a bit, when my dentist came in- dressed in jeans and sneakers- i asked are you the dentist? Apparently it was a very casual work atmosphere. After they took a few xrays- they told me that I needed a root canal- and sent me to their coordinator. As I waited there- the staff around me were making very inappropriate comments- once I got into the room- the coordinator quickly started her sales pitch. She spokes extremely quickly- didn't make me feel comfortable- and the next thing I knew she wanted me to sign a paper for a bill of $1200 for a root canal on one tooth!!! I wasn't ready to make that type of commitment- and decided to walk out- The next thing i know i receive a bill from them! I called my insurance- asking why I had to pay out of pocket- and they said that they claimed to do a FULL work up of my teeth- with 18 xrays! I told them no way- they only did 3 xrays!! Apparently they had claimed ALLL this extra work that was never done!! I then called Concerned Dental care and they said well we did a full work up. I said No, you guys took a few xrays and thats it! We went back and forth- and finally I said if they don't correct it- I will file a grievance again them....they quickly said "we will recode the bill to your insurance!" hmmm why? CAUSE YOU OBVIOUSLY ARE PUTTING IN FALSE CLAIMS!!!! Needless to say DONT TRUST THEM. Their office is DIRTY, their workers are dishonest and prices are outrages. PS I went to another dentist- and I got the tooth fixed/root canal/crown for $500 (after insurance). thats about $700 LESS of what they told me to pay! Beware.

Over the past two years I have had a considerable amount of dental work done at Concerned Dental Care; everything from a simple check-up with cleaning, to root canals and crowns. All the procedures were done with care and a high level of professionalism. The results were excellent. I found the office staff to be very friendly and efficient. By far, the best dental care that I have ever had.

I have been thoroughly impressed with every aspect of CDC. I'm not normally a pain, but in my first two interactions with CDC I was a serious pain. I canceled my first appointment just 1 day before, and was 20 min late to the rescheduled appointment, but all the staff I interacted with were professional, helpful and understanding. The cleaning I received was thorough, using both the metal pick and the super sonic water thing. They even have this new, fancy digital x-ray machine that shows the xray results immediately and allows digital adjustments to be made for better visualization of your teeth.

Highly Recommended.

II saw a tv commercial for concerned dental care on cable a couple of weeks ago and I decided to go this past week. I have not been to a dentist in a while, so I decided to go because I was off from work for a couple of days. I received excellent service and it was quick. They immediately called me once I filled out all my patient information. They have very clean rooms and the overall appearance is excellent.

Wow I am so surprised that there are a few bad reviews here. I just came from Concerned Dental and I had a great experience. They were super nice, friendly, and competent. I was very on edge (just nervous they would find something --something bad and expensive!) and they, without saying anything about it, totally made me feel relaxed. Also no scolding about how I haven't been to the dentist in a few years. I totally recommend them!

I have been seeing the same dentist in Westchester for years, while living in the city. Last week a filling came out and my tooth was absolutely killing me ... a freind at work recommended Dr Leana Gedz at Concerned, who was right in midtwon, I called there and she really was CONCERNED. They took me in quickly, she eased my pain and I literally walrked out with a new tooth and no pain. UNBELIEVABLE!!

They went on to clean my teeth. And now i will be back for whitening.

The best part is they are reasonably priced and less expensive than OUTSIDE the city.

In the last 2 years my life as changed dramatically, due to my smile. My teeth were a mess!!! I had to have all new crowns on my WHOLE mouth. The embarrassment of my teeth stopped me from smiling,laughing and being social.
The I met Dr. Getz from Concerned Dental and she changed my life. The work was done in a timely manner and all the while making sure I felt comfortable. My teeth now look AMAZING and I get compliments from tons of people. No one can even tell they are crowns, they are flawless!!!
Dr. Getz is my angel and because of her expertise takes dentistry to another level.
I highly recommend her.

Like everyone else i always have tried to avoid dentists as long as i could. i had been seeing several dentists before i went to concerned dental. All had told me i needed a root canal and crowns and other major work done on my teeth. Finally a good friend of mine recommended that I see doctor Gedz before i did anything. it turned out all i had was a couple of bad cavities that just needed a filling!!!! I was so outraged to see that other dentists had just wanted to do major work so that they could charge me more etc...and have me come back in a regular basis in order to complete the work. I now started going to the dentist regularly. I am no longer afraid of going to the dentist as I now can trust mine! I also recommanded my dentist to a friend of mine who had all her teeth redone (major cosmetic work) not only she was pleased but she now calls our dentist "an angel"!!!

I have been afraid of the dentist for as long as I can remember. As a result , my mouth is a disaster. I am an actress so my teeth are extremely important. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Gedz. We created a plan of action and started the process. To my huge surprise, there was no pain at all. Dr. Gedz talks me through the whole process, tells me what's to come so that I am not scared. She is very gentle and caring. She did an amazing job on my front tooth and you can imagine how important that is being an actress. I now go to my appointments with no fear or anxiety. I know that I am in great hands!!!!

I LOVE this office. I am orginally from Chicago where I had a dentist that was amazing. Upon moving to NYC I tried many different dental offices with no success until I found Dr. Getz at Concerned Dental. She is a wonderful dentist! The atmosphere is inviting and the doctors are very professional. After 5 years of searching for a dentist here in NYC I am happy to report I finally found one I love.
