I work close by and frequently pick up lunch at Java Brew. The owner and staff are always nice and the food is prepared fresh and with good ingredients. The turkey sandwich with fresh mozzarella and the low-fat turkey and Swiss are two of my favorites. The muffins and over-sized chocolate chip cookies are absolutely delicious!

When they first opened, our entire company went over for coffee. The man making our drinks under the owner's close supervision, who now no longer works there, was unable to make our drinks correctly except for the two that were plain coffees with cream and sugar. When we spoke to him about it, he argued that we were incorrect. I was surprised at this. I didn't think it was possible to botch a Cafe Americano. But it was as it had steamed milk in it.
A simple Google search shows the proper recipe for a Cafe Americano. Shot of espresso, hot water, cup.
On top of this, further visits yielded an unfriendly mannerism to the place. Cold, and paranoid one might say. I was routinely questioned, visit after visit, as to 'where I worked' by the owner. I don't enjoy answering personal questions, especially time after time, while I'm simply trying to make a food-related purchase.
There was this other occasion I was short on time for a lunch break and popped in. The owner had a man with a massage chair setup in the corner of his store. Again, the comfort level of the place felt very creepy.
Lunch at this place will cost you around $10, without a coffee. That's a very standard deli sandwich, a pickle and some potato chips.
However, their muffins are delicious.

This place is great. The owners are nice and the cooking is done on-site. They have wonderful soups and sandwiches, along with excellent pastries. I mostly get latte's, and have always enjoyed them.

I have been going to Java's in the Woodmont Community for 7months & found it to be a delightful & a comfortable cafe.The muffins were extra large & among the best I have ever had. The coffee was excellent & grilled pannini sandwiches were delich. I have completed work there on my laptap, since they offer free wifi connection. The owners are friendly & very accomodating & I enjoy going & hanging out for business or just to have my favorite latte.

Having eaten at the Huntingdon Valley Javas Brewin in May 2007,I know ths review is long overdue. First things first. The coffee was weak and tepid. A good cup of coffee is hot at least, this coffee was not even hot. When one pays for a large coffee,one has the expectation they will receive a large cup of coffee. Our large coffees still had 1/2 inch to a full cup. When the coffee is not hot and it tastes weak that does not bode well for a new restaurant that boasts the word java in it's title.
The food... the muffins are substandard,the owner took it upon themselves to put margarine on muffins that were ordered plain. Could it be that someone was trying to cover or disguise the taste. When we bit into the muffins they too like the coffee were not hot. The margarine that had been put on the muffins without being requested did not even melt. The margarine rested upon the lukewarm muffins.
There is plenty of seating in this restaurant, the tv is nice as are the leather couches.One thing that stood out to us was the fact in the time we were there drinking the lukewarm coffee and the margarine covered muffins we noticed that no one else was coming in. We had also heard that not even the local patrons patronize this place.
In this day an age when the economy is in a freefall how nice it would be to be able to patronize a non chain.To be able to support a local business would have been nice. This particular location is not one that we will re visit again. We would have done better by stopping at a chain restaurant for a coffee and a muffin.
