I love Gordo's and am so glad it is back! The food is wonderful! My daughter loves the pizza! My husbands favorite is the beef medallions I have loved everything I've tried but the great white pizza usually wins out! The great thing about this place is it is good for date night, girls night or an evening with the family!

Gordo's-My favorite restaurant

by Marjorie F.

Gordo's is absolutely my favorite place to eat. The atmosphere is great. The servers are very polite and professional. Most of all, the food is wonderful. I have tried something different each time I have eaten there, and I have never been disappointed. I would definitely suggest Gordo's to my pickiest friends!

Gordo's Is the Best!

by Molly A.

My children love visiting Gordos, especially for the pizza. The Great White Pizza and the chicken pizza are among their favorites. I must admit, the tomato basil soup is out of this world!

Gordo's Always a Winning Combination

by Rhonda N.

Gordo's has been a favorite of my family's and mine for decades. I recommend Gordo's for all occasions celebrations, family meals, business meetings, a place to meet friends. I always have great service. The atmosphere comfortable. The food is the best, hard to pick a favorite, it's all good. My grandsons love the pizza and salads. The menu has enough variety to satisfy any appetite. The fish is fresh, steaks tender, pasta perfect. The Alfredo sauce rich and creamy with the perfect bite of Parmesan cheese.

Yay! Gordo's is back and better than ever!

by Anne S.

My husband and I are so glad that Gordo's is back! This is our favorite hang out. We always feel so welcome and like we are part of the family. This is a great place to watch the game and relax. I think I counted 6 flat-screens throughout the restaurant? We are also glad to see that the new location has private rooms! We booked my husband's birthday in a private room...we even got to use our own music...you can plug in your ipod into the sound system and have it playing for your party! So cool!Of course, the food is delish! My husband never deviates from his usual...The Great White Pizza. I promise, you have never had a pizza like this! Genius! I like to mix it up, sometimes the Gordo burger, sometimes a nice seafood dish, sometimes the Greek salad with Tomato Basil soup. This soup puts all others to shame...I keep asking the owner to bottle it up and put it on the market!Bottom line, Gordo's is a great place...maybe even the best kept little secret?

My most horrible Valentine's Day dinner experience.

by Kate J.

My husband and I made reservations for 7pm on Valentines. We stood at the front door for a good 15 minutes before anyone bothered to check us in. When we were finally seated at our table, the white linen table cloth is actually a plastic table cloth made to look like linen. It was filthy and sticky. I ordered a glass of the house Merlot and my husband ordered water until he figured out what he wanted to eat. My wine was brought to me about 5 minutes later and about another 15 minutes later when the waitress came to take our order, she brought his water. (This after we asked for it again.) We order the the Valentine's Bree appetizer special, each a salad and our steak entrees. About 45 minutes later, after asking our waitress, we are finally given our appetizer. She had to get the manager to go get it. The appetizer was great. Just took so long to get there. Another 30 minutes go by and our waitress brings our steak entrees. I ask about the salad and she said, "Oh, they didn't bring them out? Did you still want them?" We tell her to yes, please bring them. At this point we are starving so we start in on our steaks. My husband's food is cold and my steak is very VERY rare. I had asked for it to be well done to the point of burnt. She comes back out and seriously, the wait staff there has made an art out of avoiding eye contact. We finally flag her down and she takes our entrees back. Still no salad. Another 10 minutes go by and she brings out the entrees. Again, still no salad so we remind her. Again, she asks if we still want them. We say we do. My husband's steak turns out really good for him and mine is charred on the outside, but still horribly raw on the inside. She brings out our salads finally. At this point, we were just ready to go. I didn't touch my steak, the salad was alright. Can't really go wrong with lettuce, 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 slices of onions and banana pepper. Again, we try and get the attention of our waitress. No such luck. We finally get up and go the bar where a group of wait staff was standing, including the manager. We told the manager and said we just wanted our checks and go. He was very nice and apologized and said our meal was on him. Which is a good thing, I would have been extremely upset if we actually had to pay for all that. Did I mention another family walked out for the same reason while we were there? Actually, they never even got their food.

I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! It was such a disappointment because my husband and I loved the charm of the place.

Howling Good Place

by maddog92845

This is the place we have been looking for for a long time. Id does not have the big open room that most heve. You feel like you are in the place almost all by yourselves. The food is great but the rest makes one of a kind. This is the way to go for dining out.

Pros: Not just a "Big Open Room"!!

Cons: None that matters

Fantastic!!

by Danibird1978

I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal at Gordo's. We live in Fort Worth, so whenever we make it out to Gordo's we always order extra to take home. The house salad dressing is the best I have ever had the opportunity to try. Their Greek salad is incredible and the pizza is fantastic. You can never go wrong ordering the specials, either. I am so glad they have re-opened!!

Pros: Best House Salad Dressing and Pizza

Cons: It is so far away from us.

great food and service for the money!

by BertB

We recently went to Gordos for dinner with my brother and sister-in law in Dallas (we are from Fort Worth). They recommended it as a decent place to go. We were so pleasantly surprised to find this little gem. The food was GREAT, and Ivan was one of the BEST waiters we have ever had at any restaurant...he was attentive and fun. I had the Chicken Artichoke, and my wife had the Rainbow Trout Almondine. Both were really tasty and perfectly cooked. My in-laws had a Gourmet Combo Pizza that they shared. GREAT VALUE, GREAT TIME and GREAT TASTE. Try it, you'll like it!

Pros: good food, service, value

Cons: I am in Fort Worth and Gordos is in Dallas!!!

Gotta try the Great White Pizza!

by JoeTheTeacher

We make it a point to visit Gordo's if we find ourselves in Dallas, and we are never disappointed. My favorite dish is the Great WHite Pizza with a side of the house dressing, a rich-tasting tarragon vinagrette that makes the house salad a real treat.

Pros: Affordable food in classy setting

Cons: It's in Dallas

Hooray for the return of Gordo's in Dallas

by firemama

I was so happy to find out that Gordo's is back. This place has always been our special little place. The management and staff make you feel like family...brings a song to mind, "where everybody knows your name..." Anyway, this is our go-to place for "girls-night-out". This is a great place to relax...beautiful new bar, complete with lounge area for a more intimate feel! And the bartenders are the best! Bruce & Ivan will definately take care of you! Oh, and the food, I almost forgot...DELICIOUS! I have had anything from pizza to seafood pasta...and I have always been happy with my selection! The salads are so fresh, none of that cheapo iceberg...and the house dressing...awesome! Just go...you will NOT be disapointed!

Pros: Drink specials, happy hour, ambiance, service, staff, food

Cons: None

Fantastic Steak and pizza

by Bettieo

We went to Gordos last night in Highland Park. This Italian Restaurant had the most amazing Pizza and Steaks! It was a great solution to the difference in taste my husband and I have. I always want pizza and italian food and he is a meat and potato man. The atmosphere was really nice, fantastic service and the owner told me if I told other people about my experience on Citysearch, he would give me 20% of my next meal. Pretty good! So if you are looking for a great italian reataurant AND steakhouse, this is a fantastic alternative to choosing one, in Highland Park.

Pros: Service , value

Cons: none

My New favorite

by wendyyork

This itelian restaurant has been around for over 50 years and my grandmother just introduced me to it. They moved from Lovers lane over into Highland park about 6 months ago. I think alot of people think gordos in dallas went away instead of moving, so she was happy to rediscover their italian cuisine again. I tried the sasauge and peppers, the chopped salad and pizza. All were excellent! The service is warm and the bar is pretty large. The owner said they have football parties int he state of the art multimedia set ups in the private rooms and in the bar. It looks like the old dog CAn learn new tricks. go see the new and improved gordo's in highland park dallas. It too will be your new italian restaurant that you will tell your friends about.

Pros: New interior with the same traditional food

Cons: parking is a block away, but lots of it
