I believe this is the best BBQ in the Portland area. I have lived in Kansas City and have had lots of exposure to good BBQ. I have tried everything on the menu except the sausage and that is only because I am not a sausage person. The prices are totally reasonable. I get two lunches out of the $8.50 beef brisket sandwich. It is delightful served cold the next day, and the flavor is more intense the second day. I like the Kansas City Classic sauce. I recommend this place and the service is friendly, especially in the evening hours. Dining in or dining out - great food. The pork spare ribs - be sure to give them a try. Pecan pie too!

Ok, I'm not exacly the world's greatest expert on BBQ, but I know what I like, and Slabtown has some pretty good stuff.

This place is easy to miss, since it's not very big and the signage is kinda subdued. Interior is nice, some good use of wood for bench seating, but otherwise pretty average. The lady who owns the place was very knowledgeable and friendly.

The highlights of the meal we had there were the BBQ pulled-pork sandwiches. The Memphis sauce on them was very tasty, the mustard sauce was ok too, but not quite as savory. The sides of baked beans (with meat) and mac n' cheese were both quite good. The beans had a nice texture and smokey flavor to them, and the m&c (actually rotelli and cheese) was creamy and not too greasy. The buttermilk biscuits are huge and very good... splitting one between two people worked out great, and the honey-butter on them really hitt the spot.

Our friend who'd been there before us said the bbq'ed sausage was not all that great, so we avoided ordering that.

I'm glad to have discovered some decent, reasonably-priced BBQ in our neck of the woods!
