Pho La Jolla

I had chicken Pho to go and it was perfect! I am pretty picky and this is only the 2nd place I've found that I've really enjoyed. I go back as often as I can and would recommend to this place to anyone who is interested!

We've eaten at Pho La Jolla many times and each time we go it gets better and better. The restaurant is very clean and they even have it set up so that you can see into the kitchen and watch your food being prepared--something most restaurants shy away from these days. The wait staff is very attentive and we are always seated immediately.As far as the food, you can't go here and not get the egg rolls (unless, that is, you get the spring rolls with peanut sauce!). These are the best egg rolls I've ever had and I actually find myself craving them.The Pho has a very flavorful broth and comes in very large portions. I especially like their grilled chicken which has great flavor and is very moist. I also really like the beef stew which has a slightly sweet with a hint of curry (but still has the traditional beef broth base). It's served with bread that has a nice crust and is moist inside.Although the portions are large, we never walk away feeling heavy. The food is made with local ingredients and is made fresh daily--and is very healthy! In general, you're not going to find food this healthy at this price any where else in San Diego. Expect to spend less than $10/person and have plenty to share.Students receive a 10% discount.
