David J is referring to the boxer rescue SAN DIEGO! BRLA is a great place. We got our boxer from there about a year ago. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. BRLA won't adopt a dog out in horrible condition. Unless they send you home with meds. Please adopt from this place.
My wife and i recently adopted a boxer from brla, and talk about busy. If a animal rescue had something to aspire to this would be it. They are doing everything in their power to find and provide good homes for all of the dogs they have. I personally looked @ 3 dogs my self but had my heart set on one. They were very helpful and still are to this day. Dont get me wrong a rescue animal has it;s own issues, every dog is different and the first week will be the hardest. How ever with brla's support and a lot of research, and a " PATIENT" owner, the transition can be easy. My wife and i love our little girl, yes she had " kennel cough".. but a quick vet visit and 65$ later in medds.. she is doin great. This is a wonderful and excelent boxer rescue and recomend it to anyone. They really take the time to make sure you find what you are looking for.. and believe me no one will have the selection they do.
And for this david j person.. do you have any idea on the price tag for a comercial piece of property in that city?.. or the price of the " pallet" loads of dog food/cleaning supplies/VET BILLS/and other miscalanious itmes. Dogs Rarley go to animal rescues from good homes.. hence the name. I dont think a rescue agency could be ran any more profesionaly than the way they do it.
A+++++ for Boxer Rescue Of LA
Boxer Rescue LA knew exactly what we were looking for in a pet. They have been doing this forever and it shows. They have a large facility you can visit and the organization is top notch. I am a busy mom with 3 kids ranging from 1 to 9 years old. We were ready to take the leap of bringing a dog into the family. We researched many breeds and the boxer seemed a good family dog. We found Boxer Rescue LA and their website is so informative. You can see all the available dogs (they have so many great ones!) and there is great information on what you need to do to prepare everyone before bringing a dog home. The best part is when we scheduled an appointment and loaded all the kids to go meet some dogs, the volunteers were so professional, friendly and really know their stuff. We felt we were in very good hands to assure that we got a dog that matched our lifestyle. We met a number of great dogs and the volunteers could see how we all interacted . We chose a wonderful adult female fawn boxer who has fit into our life like a glove. We were instructed on how to housebreak her and not one accident. We were careful with food and the kids and all the other precautions that were in this great book that they give every new boxer family. We had the best time and love our new furry family member. I would recommend Boxer Rescue LA to anyone looking for a boxer. And, I would recommend a boxer to anyone looking for a dog - especially a family dog
"Just recently she got rid of the entire board of directors plus about 15 of her best volunteers."
If David J was one of these people I can see why she let them go. This is slander, childish, unprofessional and simply wrong!
I adopted a beautiful female Boxer when my dog passed away. Ursula the President treated me and my family so special, took lots of time with us, answered our questions and made the process of picking a new family member a pleasant experience. We looked at about 10 Boxers before we made up our mind and all of them were in good health, happy and seemed well cared for. She is a gem in our eyes. Thank you Boxer Rescue for our precious girl we love her so much.
I volunteered for Boxer Rescue many times and it was a great experience. Being a breed specific rescue they save all the Boxers they can even very old and sick ones too. It is very hard to take care of many animals but they work hard to get the job done and sometimes it would be a lot of extra work and the founder always showed her appreciation by buying us cold drinks and food. I have only good things to say about this rescue.
David J whoever you are it is obvious you are here to gossip and spread rumors shame on you. Also plugging another rescue while bashing another, nice work. I have adopted two Boxers from them and they are wonderful hard working people. They adopt so many dogs every week so I have no clue how they can be hoarders. Every time I have visited the president is always on her way to the airport to safely ship dogs off to Canada to help these poor babies get in loving homes faster.
I have been very fortunate to adopt a Boxer Rescue LA baby. She came in to our lives 8 years ago and today is still the most wonderful dog we have ever had as a member of our family. We have spent time at Boxer Rescue LA and found that all the volunteers are carrying and informative. They take the time to answer your questions, listen to your concerns and best match you with a dog that will fit you and your family. Boxer Rescue LA is a wonderful organization placing 100's of boxers a year! If it wasn't for them where would these boxers go? We really don't want to think of the answer to that question do we!
What an awful thing for this person to write. It sounds more like this is a disgruntled volunteer, maybe one of these volunteers who was let go then a concerned adopter etc.
I heard from another Boxer Resue LA boxer home giver that there was a blasphemous allegation against Boxer Rescue LA and I wanted to see it for myself. I do not know where this David J comes off saying such defaming remarks about a wonderful organization and person as Ursala. I have been associated w/ Boxer Rescue LA for over 10 years, know Ursala, the staff, and dogs personally. I have visited the facility numerous times and the boxers are always well taken care of. The love and attention each of these dogs is given by Ursala and her staff is as if each boxer was their own personal family member, They all go beyond the call of duty. We have fostered numerous dogs our self and have many friends who have adopted them. None of us have ever had to put out any money outside whatever you accept by fostering or adopting. Before you take this David J's word about Boxer Rescue LA please take the time to find out for yourselves what a great organization they are. And always ADOPT A DOG!!
Wow. I read the "review" by David J. and can't believe anyone would be so obviously spiteful and simply untruthful.
I have adopted two wonderful dogs from Boxer Rescue LA and fostered many more. No diseases. No "huge medical bills". No problems whatsoever. Simply the world's most wonderful dogs!
I have personally met the founder of Boxer Rescue LA and she is an unbelievably dedicated woman who has made so much happen for so many dogs over the past 30 years. Last year alone, Boxer Rescue LA found new homes for over 800 boxers. They found homes for 600 the year before.
Clearly David J is just plain wrong.
I'm not familiar with Take Me Home (the rescue organization David J. mentions) but if I were them, I'd ask him to remove any mention of my rescue. Being associated with such a blatant - and frankly stupid - attempt at discrediting one of the country's best rescues cannot be good for anyone. Especially not the dogs.
I would not hesitate to adopt another dog from Boxer Rescue LA or to recommend them to my friends and family.
