In Chinese, Jing means an eternity obtained through transcendence. That is exactly what the food at Jing aspires to. At its heart, Jing's food is the traditional Chinese food that many people have come to know and love, but the body has been lifted to a higher plane; a place where you will find modern looks, bold flavors, and eclectic accompaniments that strive to be a wholly memorable dining experience. Additionally, a variety of beverages (including a priced selection of wines), attentive service, and an alluring atmosphere can be expected. Delivery and take out are also available. All of this is available right next to the theater district; experience a new, modern Chinese cuisine before or after catching a Broadway show. Jing is not trendy, it is not classical, and it is not fusion. It is transcendence.

I like their food, such as shrimp cake, and cold noodles. For Entress, I like orange beff, and sea bass. In addition, I strongly recommand is green tea Ice cream. The best Ice cream I ever had in NYC.....
I love this restaurant.....

not your ordinary chinese restaurant
by foodscout
Jing, formerly known as Westside Cottage, is not just your ordinary Chinese restuarant. It has been given a new makeover with artwork by upcoming Asian artists and a modern and zen-like atmosphere. The staff is very attentive. The menu goes beyond the standard "Chinese" fare and incorporates new dishes such as one of my favorites, stuffed pork loin with fuji apples and goat cheese and chilean sea bass with mango sauce. Appetizers not to be missed include the shrimp pancake, lamb skewers, and updated versions of the ubiquitous eggroll with fillings such as avocado and salmon. The prices are reasonable and the location is great for a pre- or post- Broadway show meal.
Pros: Proximity to Theater district, great atmosphere and food at a reasonable price

Great new "Chinese" food addition to NYC
by toned5
This is an excellent new "Chinese" food restaurant, right by the Gershwin theater. I say "Chinese" because this is not your traditional take out food. This is a higher class of food, yet without a high class prices. Dishes are very reasonably priced and the food is innovative. I've been here 3 times already and every dish on the Jing's specialty menu is fresh and different. There is also a nice selection of wines and the service is very attentive. The restaurant is also conveniently close to times square (about 2 and a half blocks). If you're looking for some classy food without the classy price tag, check this one out.
Pros: Great food, good price, attentive service, nice atmosphere.
Cons: Dessert selection is limited, parking can be difficult to find.

Yummy New Chinese Food
by shebes28
I was going to see a show and wanted a place to eat. I wasn't in the mood for the usual options, and was excited to find a new Chinese Food place in the area. The wonton soup was great, the meals were filling, and the service was great. Not to mention how nice the place is.
Pros: Great Prices and Yummy Food
