In my 14yrs in the city I have moved about 6 times and I have had to use professional service, every time. My experiences have ranged from "OK" to downright "Horrible".

I have grown from those experiences though.

I moved with Yankee movers about month and a half ago. Tashi, my sales manager not only handled my booking but also took care of my building insurances with my management (note: let your building management/super know of the date and ask them about their insurance requirements. My new building didn't tell me about their insurance requirement up until 2 days before the move!) Tashi called up the Management and set the whole thing up the next day. My movers Roland, Chris and....(?) were very professional, friendly and detailed.

To sum it up, on time, friendly, knowledgeable crew, no broken stuff, no broken furniture, no hidden charges and no dilly dallying. I was delivered more than I was promised. Thank you guys and good luck.

we schedule our move for October 1st and the movers were hour and half late and they cancel us at last moment when they found out that we are moving from 5th floor to 4th floor. we called lots of moving companies and finally we found yankee movers to accommodate our last minute move.
yankee movers send me 4 movers @ $140 per hour. movers were very professional quick, knowledgeable, efficient polite and they were working as a chain in the walkup . they wrapped all my furniture and they helped me with dissembling of my big wall unit which was a big headache for me. they took care of all my belongings.
everything went well till we got to my new apartment. we had a elevator time slot and the building management didnt alow us to move in.( building management sucks)
i dont know wat to do next i was feeling very helpless and i talked to mover supervisor and he told me to call the office if they could b of any help. I call the yankee movers office and the office manage Sam was very kind to me he let me store my stuff overnight in the truck for no extra charge.

i had to sleep in the hotel that night. the next day we met at 9 they unload everything help me unpacking all my stuff. they even help me with the placement of my big wall unit. and they put it back together.
movers really help me alot they were very nice and polite to me.
i tipped them well which i think they deserve.

this is how i ended my move. thank you very much to all the yankee movers team.
i ll recommend you guys to all my frends and my family.

racial slurs, lack of communication and inability to appear at the appt they made a month ago. STAY AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cons: DIDNT COME. DOESNT ANSWER PHONE. PROBABLY DOESNT EXIST.

My girlfriend and I were moving out of seperate walk-up apartments and into a 5th floor walkup. I was stressed trying to figure out how we were going to manage this move, but these guys took care of everything with no problems at all. They did both moves on 2 consecutive weekends and did a great job. The guys were friendly, hard-working and easy to work with. Well worth the money, which wasn't much considering the task. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Nima was the move supervisor and did an excellent job. All guys were in good spirits despite a difficult move. I would recommend Yankee movers to anyone considering their services.
