During college, I went through multiple obstacles dealing with disordered eating habits and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Before I even realized it, body was changing I had already gained over 30 pounds and stopped exercising. By my last year in college, I stopped believing that anything would work. I was unleashed on a unhealthy lifestyle. Little did I know I was hurting myself in the process. I was giving my body everything except the nutrition it actually needs to function. I quickly became lazy and tired all the time. I would loose energy doing normal day to day activities.

So I knew something needed to change but I had little hope. I started to search for options. I initially started looking for gyms in the area however; I was hesitant because I knew I didn't have enough motivation to workout everyday on the exact same machine. I stumbled upon various bootcamps in the southbay and began searching. I read every detail about every single one and asked friends who participated in them. Once I found OBC I immediately fell in love. I was super nervous at first and had no idea if I could even keep up with the workouts but I knew it was time to give things a try.

This is pretty much how OBC works. It is compromised by two major components EXERCISE AND NUTRITION

EXERCISE
The workout is simple. Almost every weekday you meet up with the OBC family at 5:45am and workout til approx 7:00am. It's intimidating at first but the OBC instructors are amazing and will push you to your limit. They try their best to motivate you and to get you to work outside of your comfort zone. Comfort zone is pretty much the comfortable intensity that your body is used to working out at unfortunately you achieve no results working out in your comfort zone. At OBC you will be pushed to workout at high intensity for 45min. The workouts change everyday so you never get bored and your body is always surprised by the different exercises and stretches you are doing. Whether you consider yourself to be super athletic to no movement at all--the instructors know how to give everyone a good workout without making anyone feel like they have been left behind or have to slow down. It has become super convenient to get my workout done early in the morning then have the rest of the day free. Waking up in the morning was easier than I expected so don't be turned off by the early hour. During the workout, I constantly complain but the instructors continue to encourage me to keep going. You get a lot of attention from the entire crew--people will cheer you on and yell your name out--feels so good at 6:00am!! Believe it or not if I miss a day I feel so guilty that I find myself on the treadmill before noon. I started planning hiking trips or long bike rides on the weekends with friends and family--which I would have never done before.

NUTRITION
Now for the nutrition aspect of things. Weight loss is only achieved through proper nutrition and exercise--ask any doctor!! At OBC you will be taught by the instructors how to make good decisions on what to eat that will lead to effective weight loss. YES most weight loss programs guarantee the same thing but let me tell you why OBC works then you can decide for yourself. 80% of women spend most of their lives either on a diet or trying to diet. The OBC nutrition is NOT diet. It is simply a lifestyle change. It teaches you ways to make changes in either what types of food you are eating and/or how much food you are eating. All of it is based on what your body needs to function. It provides an easy way for your body to get it's daily nutrition at the same time feel satisfied. I have been seeing a nutritionist for a few years now and everything I have learned at the nutritionist office was repeated to me by the OBC instructors. My nutritionist checked out my entire OBC booklet and fell in love. Everything in the booklet was duplicate to all the handouts I get at the doctor's office except it is nicely written in a little book you can carry everywhere. Every morning the instructors check what you ate the previous day and offer suggestions on how to improve. Before you realize it, you are eating healthy and it isn't taking a huge effort or pain to do so. It begins to come naturally and you constantly feel satisfied. NOW THATS A LIFESTYLE CHANGE!

In one month, my mile time dropped by 3 minutes and 28 seconds and I lost a little over an inch at my waist! Thats a lot! I was so shocked that I actually achieved something so huge. It felt so great and I was immediately hooked on OBC. I now purchased a 3 moth package. November is month two! I'll keep updating the upcoming achievements.

If you read this whole thing and are still thinking twice..keep reading the other posts or come in for a free preview. Just don't doubt yourself. YOU CAN DO IT. Don't give yourself excuses--you are only cheating yourself and delaying your success.

ps. you will meet amazing people

I have never been an "athletic" person. After I delivered my first child I was able to take long walks several times a week with him and lost most of the weight after 9 months or so. A year after my second child was born I was still walking around with an extra 20 lbs and I was frustrated. Turns out it's hard to lose weight as you get older and even harder to find time to do much for yourself when you have kids (who knew?). :)

I did a search online and found information on Operation Bootcamp at Hellyer Park in San Jose, which is run by an amazing trainer named Ronny. I called and Ronny told me about a free preview day they had coming up. I went expecting a boring but necessary workout where I might sweat a little and be out of breath here and there. What I got was a serious butt kicking and an amazing feeling of accomplishment. I had completed a challenging workout, been pushed farther then I thought I could go and had FUN. I came home and told my (much more physically fit) husband about it and convinced him to go to the next preview day with me. After that we both decided to sign up for the next months session. The 6am time meant that we could go before our kids were up (which I seem to be able to do, even though I am NOT a morning person), we were able to spend time together doing something that made us feel good and allowed us to support each other and it wasn't about work, bills, the house or our kids.

It's five months later and we're still enjoying it. I have improved my mile time by more than 3 minutes, ran a 5K with fellow Bootcampers (before Bootcamp I had never ran farther than a block), and most importantly to me, lost 15 lbs and gone down two pant sizes. The trainers and other campers are extremely supportive. Ronny is very knowledgeable and has helped me understand proper form and how my body works. Plus he and the rest of the staff really care about each camper and helping them to meet their goals. Thanks to the food log and nutrition information I'm eating better and making healthier meals for my family. And best of all I've made some great friends and spent quality time with my husband.

I'm pretty sure my friends and family are sick of hearing me talk about how great Bootcamp is, but I'm definitely not sick of hearing them say how great I look these days! Thanks Ronny and Operation Bootcamp!

One of the hardest thing that I realize is to admit that I regained the 20lbs of the 40lbs I lost three years ago. I was in denial especially after I got married and when I lost my dad to cancer. Its soo easy to loose focus when there are so many things going on in life and when you are an emotional eater like me.

When the events and dramas settled down, I decided that I needed to focus on my health. I don't want to wake up one morning and find out that I have medical problems like hyper-tension and sleep epnia like I once did or have the fireman come and knock down the house wall and have a construction crane come scoop me out because I can't fit through the door.

At first, I was looking for a yoga class, but I wanted to have a little bit of everything like cardio, core work, muscle strenghtening, etc. I needed to find something that can be challenging, yet fun. I found OBC on Yelp.com and read the reviews. I read the reviews and they were all so postive and something I would be interested in.

I did a little research on OBC, and they offer a free class to for people who are interested. After attending the free workout session, I only had only reasons TO join. I met the trainers and the campers and they were all so friendly and encouraging.

I signed up after the free workout session and couldn't wait to start feeling and looking better.

This is my first month and I'm learning to eat better and having a positive outlook to taking control of my weight. Lately, I feel better about how my clothes feel on me and I could look at myself in the mirror.

Let??s be honest, who seriously enjoys going to your local gym for a workout? That dreaded feeling you have after a long day at work, knowing you need to suck up a 30+ minute workout on the same boring cardio machine or possibly get stuck a machine you had no intention using, but had no other choice because the gym was so crowded that all the other machines were taken. On top of that, you have to listen to the same played out songs on your iPod because you??re so busy you don??t have time to update, and then you get stuck working out next to someone who smells like they haven??t showered in days. Sound fun? NOT TO ME!

Yes, of course we all love the accomplished, sweaty feeling afterwards, but the mental and physical process it takes to get to that point, REALLY SUCKS! If you can relate to what I just mentioned, then take a moment to read what I??m about to say about Operation Bootcamp and why I??m a HUGE fan.
I??m going on my 6th month of boot camp and couldn??t be any happier. I just wish I would have joined sooner, but I didn??t think I could get up early in the morning for a workout. The thought seriously made me laugh.

It wasn??t until I finally got frustrated not seeing the results I wanted and accepted the fact that I needed to make a change to some degree, in order for me to get to my fitness goal.

I had sat back and watched my sister who joined Operation Boot camp long before me, and noticed huge changes in her body as well as her daily life. She was eating better, looking better and feeling better. I needed those same results, so I joined full-time in January, 2010.

I absolutely love Operation Boot camp and look forward to going every morning. What I love most is the fact that every day holds something different and I??m challenged by the instructors as well as the other boot campers. We??ve built a great support system and encourage each other to push harder, even on days we just don??t think we can.

I have seen dramatic changes in my body and can??t remember the last time I felt this great about myself. I??ve come a long way from being 100+ lbs overweight many years ago, and have literally done ever possibly exercise and fitness program out there, but Operation Boot camp has challenged me the most, and I??ve seen the biggest results. I can??t get enough of it!

Thanks to our instructors, Ronny, Lisa, Greg, Jill, Arturo & Melody for motivating me to not give up and holding me accountable for the items I put in my mouth ;o) In addition thanks to all the fellow boot campers for showing up in the morning and giving me something to look forward to. It??s a great feeling knowing I??m not in this along and we all are making the same sacrifice to achieve our goals!

During four years away at college I had gained 124 lbs, which placed me at a final weight at 320lbs and size 28. In August 2009 I used to weigh 275lbs and today I am 245lbs. My quality of life has significantly improved and it's because of the constant support I received from Ronny and the other boot camp instructors (all of them who used to be clients of the camp themselves). Since May '09 with the support of my camp I have run my 1st 5K, 10K , 1/2 marathon, and full marathon all less in one year!

I think the best part about boot camp other than the professional guidance from staff and support from other participants is the fact that we always meet no matter what RAIN or SHINE. Now that's tough love!

It's the best workout you can do at 6 am. The workouts are challenging and are always different. It's also a great way to meet new friends.

Operation Boot Camp has been a great experience for me. I have been doing since August of 2009 and have seen great improvements in my health and energy level; which comes in handy since I have two children under 5. The OBC staff is very supportive when it comes to the exercises and showing you how to change your eating habits to make your weight lose a success. I really like this aspect of the camp because they really emphasis this to be a life style change and not just a momentary thing to lose the weight. I would recommend this camp to anyone that is looking for a fun way to lose weight. It is outdoors and a great way to start your day.

Operation Boot Camp is really the only thing that has EVER in my entire life made me get up without complaining in the morning - much less at 5am!! I joined with the hopes of breaking out of my workout rut, to lose a few extra pounds, and to tone up. At the end of 30 days, I had done all three. I am 10 lbs lighter, a whole lot stronger, and have never felt better! It is well worth every penny which is what motivated me to sign up for a second month! Try it out! You won't regret it one bit! The instructors are really the driving force behind this program - they are friendly, helpful, and will drive you to your maximum potential!

I just finished my 2nd month of boot camp. It has been so worth it. In two months, I've bettered my form, increased my muscle tone, speed & endurance. The instructors are passionate about what they do and it makes a huge difference. Even better, the group is not a competitive, I'm gonna do better than you kind of group. Rather it was more like a team, where everyone was constantly trying to push each other to do better.

Yep it's worth it. Ronnie the main trainer is a great guy, patient, knows his stuff, and does a good job keeping up variety. He runs a tight ship & cares about his program & his campers. I remember being impressed the time I went to a Saturday make-up day for slackers who'd missed during the week, and was the only one who showed. He could've called it off & enjoyed his morning, or gone to see another better-paying private client, but he didn't even flinch & I'm glad since I had a great (exhausting) one-on-one workout with a great personal trainer on a sunny morning at the park.

Also impressive is how helpful they are, if you're at the grocery store wondering about what food just text him or give him a ring & he'll help you out with choosing the right thing. The bring-a-friend days, motivation & nutrition emails, 'graduation parties', nametags etc help to make it an all-around pleasant experience. The program works, just remember you get out what you put into it.

I just finished my first ever Boot Camp. It was AWESOME!!!. I improved my speed, strength, and endurance and I've never had more fun exercising. Our instructor, Ronny, was creative, encouraging, and motivating. Always on time and ready to work. Not to mention how much fun it was to be with other Operation Boot Campers every morning. I would highly recommend Operation Boot Camp for anyone wanting to get healthier and more fit. No matter what their current level of fitness is.

Wanted to revise my comments now that I just celebrated my first year with Operation Bootcamp. I started as an overweight 48 year old with high blood pressure and her 30 yr reunion coming up. I HATED working out and ate terribley. With Operation Bootcamp's nutrition check and the "never the same" workouts, I am fit and look and feel fabulous. At my reunion people thought I looked like I did in HS! I now love working up a good sweat with people that have become my friends in a fun outdoor environment. I help instruct at camp now and love working with others, helping them acheive the results that I did. Going from a 9.36 mile to my all time best of 7.12, entering 1/2 marathons, having a six back and sexy arms minus the flappy flab have made all of the hard work worth while. And best of all, no more high bloodpressure medication! Instructors are mixed in amoungst campers working with them ensuring they are working out safely and pushing themselves. No one is left behind and everyone encourages each other. You will see amazing changes and meet wonderful people at www.operationbootcamp.com

You will see amazing changes and meet wonderful people at www.operationbootcamp.com

.

I did this program in Oklahoma - it's not like all the so called boot camps you see around, this program gets huge results in a short time, and the instructors are super friendly and encouraging - they made me feel welcome right away. I also liked that there were all different fitness levels in class and no one was left behind. The classes are also arranged in such a way that the less fit people don't feel like they are holding others back.
