SUPERB service and clean, fun atmosphere

by beela

The Painted Nail is everything a chop shop salon is NOT. You sit in giant Shabby Chic chairs while your worries and woes are soon forgotten. With a glass of wine, gourmet coffee, or a tasty martini your services begin just the way I like em, WITH BOOZE! Better yet, they opened a boutique next store, so instead of waiting for your service you can shop while you wait. They have everything from jeans, to gifts for a bachelorette. I highly recommend checking this place out! They have a parking lot in the back so you don't even have to worry about the pesky meters on Ventura Blvd. or the Parking Ticket Police!

Pros: YUMMY coffee, BIG comfy chairs, FUN techs

Best Pedicure in the coolest store EVER.

by BarbaraGarvey

From the moment you walk in the door, you are in love with this place. It's so clean, yet so packed with "goodies" that your mouth waters hearing about the yummy choices you have. The Painted Nail is simply different-- like the oversized white chairs that are so comfy that it's like being in a friend's house, not those vibra/massager things most salons have. (I spend half of my "relaxation time" trying to figure out how to work those monster machines!) The techs actually know what they are doing--they are not chattering away to one another or watching a telenova as in some places. They know when to talk, when to let you just relax with your free glass of wine or soft drink. Yep, that's right. Right after you pick out your nail color, you choose your favorite beverage! I haven't tried the nail photo thing yet but I also saw someone getting a "glitter tattoo" that looked really cool.
The owner is a sweetheart who goes out of her way to make sure that everyone is treated to a relaxing hour of pampering. I cannot give enough stars to The Painted Nail and its staff!

Pros: Everything. Beautiful store, employees and owner, choices!

Cons: none

A jewel in LA

by Aramis

Stop by once and you are hooked! Everything is definitely
amazing in this salon, the service and attention from the
owner to the entire staff is what a real business is all about. I don't care what a couple of comments (probably by
people in the Cons category ) say, in a very short time this
place has become the best in LA to the point where the
fabulous come to film their shows or make videos!
Come and judge for yourself ,everybody is welcome to the
experience of your life .

Pros: Best Staff, best products, gorgeous and hilarious owner

Cons: Makes the competition envious ( he he ! )

Good Times and Great Nails!

by 504to818

I've been to The Painted Nail a few times now, and have officially converted from Nail Garden. You can't beat the funky decor and chill atmosphere. Every employee is just lovely, and the owner is a blast. I've been here on the weekend and during the work week, and felt no shift in attention or detail. A glass of wine and a mani/pedi that lasts for weeks - what's not to love?

Pros: fantastic service and atmosphere

Cons: None

MOST FUN IVE HAD AT A NAIL SHOP

by beelaaa216

This place is amazing, I cannot say enough good things about it!! The atmosphere is amazing and laid-back, I never felt rushed or the pressure to upgrade my service. The choice of lotions was crazy! I didn't know what to choose but my nail tech quickly led me to the pomegrante, which i loved! The lotion felt great on my arms and legs for hours after my mani/pedi! I can't stop raving about this place to all of my friends! The owner is hilarious and I would come back to just be entertained by her any day! They had about a million colors to choose from and they really cared in helping me choose the color that I now love! I got a fun blue with a great sparkle top coat! & the best part is I felt like I would have to give up an arm or a leg to pay for the amazing service I had just received but I got to keep all my perfectly polished limbs and it didn't break my bank account either! I will be back many more times in the future for sure!!!
oh and PS ALL THE TECHS SPEAK ENGLISH!
that in it's self is amazing!!

Pros: comfy chairs, good music, cute retail, yummy products

Cons: NONEEE

Nail Haven in the Valley!

by Jujuvoodoo

The last reviewer Mel10 must have either been a snot nose to begin with or came in on a busy weekend expecting the place to herself. After reading all the reviews I wasn't sure about the place so I went anyways just to satisfy my curiosity.
I was warmly greeted by all the staff and given a cushy couch chair to sit in, a glass of chilled wine and an overview of the shop. I got a mani/pedi with a french mani. My artist Netti was fabulous, she has the skills of the gods and the hands of angels. My frenchie came out perfect, my feet have never felt so fabulous. I can't speak highly enough of those ladies. The owner Katie is a laugh riot and really cares about everything in her shop and that the guests are happy with their experience. It's ultra clean, ultra hip and ultra posh. The prices are the same as any upscale nail salon out there if not a little cheaper. If it were in fact an "asian chop shop" the prices would be so much lower and my cuticles would have been bleeding. That is not the case with this place, it's the potof gold at the end of a pampering rainbow. I'll be back as often as I can!

Pros: Not an "asian chop shop". Pampering at it's best!

Cons: Not enough nails on my hands/feet to stay longer!

Over hyped and over priced

by Mel10

My girlfriend asked me to stop by and raved about this party she went to. As soon as you walk in, there's purple walls and pretty decor, cute as hell! But you get the same slapleg massage with a higher price......no thanks.

Pros: cute place

Cons: another masked asian chopshop

The CHEERS of Nail Salons

by musix79

I am not into going to nail salons but my girl took me to this nail place and I have to say...I loved it. I sat in a little room with the curtain open and watched a movie while I was talking with my girl and laughing with the staff. They are so attentive and clean plus you get a free drink with your service Oh and the guy who works there does the best foot massage , I know but it rocked! Will always go back ! Don't hate Congratulate! Best nail salon in the valley or all of LA for that matter.

Pros: the staff, parking lot, free drinks, foot rubs

Cons: nothing

The best nail place in the Valley right now, bar none.

by etherea

The Painted Nail hasn't been open long, but once word gets out I'm sure they're going to be slammed. I heard about this place through someone on Twitter, which turned out to be a happy coincidence. They have a machine which prints any design onto fingernails which I've never heard of before - but I'm excited to try it out.

I got a Sugar Mama mani/pedi with Irene who did a stellar job on both counts. My French manicure looks perfect (and believe me, my nails were a MESS before) and I'm now rocking purple toenails with white flowers and crystals which she did by hand.

My 5yr old daughter and her friend got Sugar Baby manicures and the person who did their nails was really friendly and did a great job with both painting their nails and handling the kids.

Next time, I think I'm going to try one of the fun pampering extras they offer like the scented bath bombs for pedicures, or the jelly that fizzes up and helps soothe aches and pains. They didn't make any attempt to sell me extra treatments this time around which impressed me because I definitely want to get more done next time.

As for the nail printing, at $2 per nail, I can have a full set of unique designs (whatever I want!) every time I get my nails done there. I love this place already and am looking forward to going back. =)

Pros: Beautiful place, excellent mani/pedis, friendly staff

Cons: What cons?
