I moved to NY in July 2008 since then I've been going to Ben and experiencing a makeover every time I visit him. He does amazing highlights and a haircut that makes me look 10 years younger. Recently, I had done a Brazilian treatment which made my hair shiny, smooth and feeling like silk. I highly recommend getting your hair done by Ben. He is just AMAZING!!!!!!!
Pros: Senior Hairstylist, Great prices
Cons: None

The other day I was passing by Ben David and decided to walk-in, as soon as I stepped in I was greeted by a sweet recepcionist , who gave me all the details on the walk in specials they offer. Immediately I felt comfortable with the friendly staff, which also appeared to be very professional and decided to do a Brazilian Blowout, an amazing treatment that eliminates frizz and leaves your hair smooth, shiny ans silky. The price was exactly what I was told at the desk before I had it done, which made it even more fabulous, no tricks like other salons tend to do. Ben David Salon is definitely the best place to get your hair done.
Pros: Friendly Staff, Amazing deals, Great Service
Cons: Specials are only Monday thru Thursday

Aydin is the best Hair dresser in NYC, He's been doing my hair over six years. The best in coloring, highlighting and cuts, I will recommend him to everyone.. he is definitely the best , my stylist Aydin.
Pros: Great color, Experienced Stylist.

I have been a loyal customer of Aydin Uslu at Ben David Salon for eight wonderful years. I am still not sure how he creates magic everytime I come, without using any products my hair is smooth, silky and doubles in volume each time I visit him. Aydin is a true stylist with magical hands.
Pros: Kerastase products, nice environment, friendly people
Cons: none

He is an artist, not just a hair dresser. He will have patience and put his best effort in giving you the best style, haircolor, haircut, head massage you've ever had. He also gave me a "free of charge" blow-dry.
Pros: BEST HAIRDRESSER IN MANHATTAN

This is undoubtedly the most beautiful salon on the Upper East Side, with the best stylists. I went in for a cut and color with Sapir, and she listened to exactly what I wanted and I loved the result! She was so friendly and talented. I was referred by a friend who sees Fabiola, who is great as well. The rest of the staff is amazing too, from the owner to the receptionists. Everyone is kind and friendly and willing to make sure you're as comfortable as possib.e The vibe at Ben David is fun and relaxed, making it a really warm and welcoming place to come in. This is definitely a great salon for everyone to try!
Pros: amazing stylists, beautiful salon, prices
Cons: none!

After researching the salon and seeing pretty good feedback I made an appointment with Omar. I asked him to keep all the length in the front and stack the back (simple bob that basically 25% of new yorkers have). He took off about an inch from the front...but I could have accepted that...he showed me the back and it looked like he shaved my head half way up and then my hair started. I left the salon in tears and spent the entire night hysterically crying. AND he charged me $68. DONT EVER GO HERE!

I had a fantastic experience at Ben David and I am definitely going back! My friend recommended this place for Brazilian hair straightening (Brazilian blow-out) and her hair looked amazing so I went for it. I saw Fabiola who i HIGHLY recommend. She is great and the Brazilian is the most amazing thing ever. My hair has never been so smooth and and straight and it's so easy. Best decision I made, will be going back to Fabiola for all my hair needs.
Pros: Brazilian straightening; great stylist that listens

I am new to NYC and walked by and was struck at how attractive this place looked, stopped in to ask about color. I met with Sapir, who knew exactly what should be done and asked to cut it a little (which I reluctantly agreed to). Well, the color was perfect and the cut was amazing. I received so many compliments from friends and coworkers.
I am now a 'regular'.
Pros: friendly, listening staff
Cons: maybe the cost

I wanted to change my hair color so a friend of mine recommend Fabiola at Ben David. She is great! My hair looks amazing. I have wonderful highlights and a beautiful color! I wasn't going to get a hair cut, but after talking to her I decided to do it. I wanted something easy, not too many layers, but at the same time that doesn't look boring and she got me exactly what I wanted!!! I'm so happy! My hair is not easy, it can be very frizzy and big depending on the hair cut, but now looks beautiful! She' s the best and nicest stylist I ever had! I also sent my fiancee to her and we both loved it! We have so many choices in NY, but is not easy to find a great hair stylist. I finally found Fabiola, and I've recommend her to all my friends!

I just moved to the area and I was so nervous about switching to a new salon. I passed by BenDavid Salon on 82 nd and 3rd ave. and decided to walk-in and check the services they offered. I was immediately greeted by a sweet recepcionist, who gave me the prices for their walk-in specials. I explained to her that I wanted to have a haircut, and she introduced me to one of the stylists, that gave me a consultation. I felt so comfortable that I decided to get it done right then and there. I was stunned by the results, and when I went to pay it was the price I was told from the beginning; not more, like other salons.
Pros: Great Prices, amazing stylists, Honest!!
Cons: none that I can think of

SO I've been 3 times already to get my hair done by the fabulous Moti at the downtown location... Always great cut and fabulous color....He listens to what I say and gives good advice and have been very happy each time I've gone... GO SEE MOTI! ( and enjoy the adorable israeli humor)
The people are all friendly, The salon is clean, good music, good location... no complaints at all!
Pros: Great cut and Color
Cons: hard to park in this area

I recently visited Ben David Salon for their Brazilian straightening treatment. From the moment you walk in, the experience is great. The salon is chic but not stuffy and the staff is fantastic! The receptionist is so friendly and helpful!!
Walk-ins during the week can take advantage of the $200 Brazilian straightening promo, which is what I did. I was introduced to my stylist, Jacob. I'll admit that at first I was skeptical about having him do it. As a faithful follower of Japanese straightening, I was uncomfortable with the new method. After Jacob finished though, I loved it!!! My hair was so straight and silky and shiny!!
I also opted for a hair cut, which I wasn't crazy about it. I would probably pass on that next time.
It was nice to go up an pay for the services and actually have the price be what I was quoted. Very rare in a NYC salon. I would 100% go back for the Brazilian straightening! You can't beat the price or the results! Thanks Jacob!
Pros: The staff, the price, the results!!
Cons: None that I can think of

i walked in into Ben David hair salon , and it was the best thing that i have ever
done. Starting from the receptionist, and ending with the stylist. Everyone was so nice,
and no one gave me any problems.
when i got there they put me with Jacob, to get my haircut. I was a little nerous at first but
then Jacob sat me down and consulted my haircut with me and made me feel very
comfortable. I explained exactly what i wanted, and he told me what i needed.
After Jacob gave me a haircut my hair looked amazing.
THANKS ALOT JACOB i love my Hair.
Pros: best hair cut

I have the kind of hair that is curly, coarse, and can grow exponentially with the humidity. I was recently promoted and found myself needing to do something about my hair. I needed a sleek, sophisticated look that required little maintenance. Those of you who have my kind of hair may think "There is no way that can be accomplished!" That's what I thought--until I heard about the Brazilian Blowout. I researched different salons in the City and based on what I discovered chose Ben David Salon. I was still skeptical when I went in for a consultation. My skepticism was soon turned into excitement as the knowledgeable staff explained the process to me. I made an appointment for the following weekend.
From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, I was given personalized service. Ben himself did the treatment and his wonderful staff were all ready to attend to my comfort or lend a hand if needed. I left the salon with shiny, healthy, manageable hair. My colleagues were amazed and impressed. Many of them wanted to know what I had done, who did it, and where it was done. I gladly offered up the information to each of them as they fawned over my hair and made requests to touch it. I spend much less time on my hair now and have not had a bad hair day since the amazing day Ben David performed his magic, gave me a Brazilian Blowout, and turned my formerly crazy curly hair into smooth, sleek, shiny hair.
Pros: attentive staff, skilled stylists
Cons: none

For years I was looking for a stylist that could give me a great haircut , warm highlights and still manage to keep my manly look. I'm a guy with good hair who's tried many stylist in the city, but they never did what I wanted. I like to keep the length without looking like a chick and that's exactly what Meagan did. She is the best at Ben David. I also had a few highlights done by her and I absolutely loved them. She's great and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The people there are very attentive as well and super nice. Ben David is definitely the best salon in New York!!!
Pros: Quality!!!
Cons: None by my behalf

i think if you really want to save money and still get the best haircut or color you have to try PINI. he is amazig i love him. we all go there, my husbend, my doughter, my aunt...
he does great job. he is a real artist. very listening. know many technics. you can trust this guy, he know what he's doing.
Pros: best cut, best colors, good music PINI COHEN

When we first moved back to NYC we were dreading the high cost of haircuts and the prima donnas who do what THEY want and not what you want. Well, we have found mecca!
Ben David Salon ( especially Megan) will not only cut your hair the way YOU want but is an amazing colorist!
I have never been happier and my family ( 2 of which are extremely particular about their hair) agree.
Prices are reasonable ( for NYC),service is excellent , and the people are very accomodating.
Ben David is the way to go!
Pros: Megan!!!!
Cons: Pay extra for drying hair

On my way to dinner last summer I met Pini who said he would love to work on my hair. He spoke of his work in a very honest and passionate way. A true gentlemen. For this and the great reviews I have decided to see how good this haircut will be. Will keep you posted on the results as I have high expectations!

Megan does the most beautiful and natural blonde highlights I have ever seen!!! Extremely reasonable prices more than makeup for the salon's slightly dated appearance. I found the staff very refreshing as they didn't have the typical arrogant and condescending attitude that you find at most salons in this city. Easy to get appointments. (This review is about Megan ONLY)
Pros: Best highlights ever, close to subway, easy to get appointments, reasonable prices
Cons: Costs extra to have blowdry (but not much)

i want to thank PINI COHEN. after 10 years of searching a good hairstylist (my first hairstylist died cancer..)
he was the only styling who's really listen to me, unlike the others.
i think i tried them all arround the upper-east.
he was the only one who cut the perfect layers. i was so happy with my hair, i sent my mother, my 2 sisters, and 4 of my girlfriends, and they all love him, he kind of character.
a real person.

if you want a 500$ haircut but you can't afford it, i have a big solution for you:
for the last 4 years i went to expensive salons on madison. a friend recomended to me to try PINI but i was affraid to go to another innexpensive salons...
after i heared about him 3 times i decided to give it a try.
i love him, he is amazing. try and you'll be happy
Pros: crumbs coffie 2 stores away, and haircut with pini, the best mix

I recently went to get a haircut with Pini and had a very upsetting experience.
I asked for 1 inch to be cut as well as long layers, he ended up not listening, cutting off a lot more than I wanted. I could have lived with that as hair grows back, but he ended up cutting one side 2 inches shorter than the other side.
I was very upset, it is completely obvious so I have been wearing my hair up everyday.
I will never go to an unrecommended hairdresser again.
How he received his license, I will never know!
Pros: the manager is very nice and tried to be accommodating
Cons: have to know who to go to, not just a random person

I have been using this salon for 4 years now. I have seen about 3 different stylists in that time for various services from highlights to cutting to even relaxing my hair. I have always had a very good experience and I have become very friendly with many of the stylists there. The ambiance is very pleasant and the service is very good. I always get compliments on my hair. I am very happy I found them, I suffered from bad hair experiences before I found this place.
Pros: comfortable atmosphere, no pressure
Cons: none

When I moved to the UES, i headed out in search of a new place to get my hair cut and totally stumbled upon the Ben David Salon. That was over a year and a half ago now, and i've been going there ever since. My hair cuts are always fun and stylish, and the great thing about it is that the cuts are done in such a way that it's very low maintenance for me to deal with! It's rare to get hair cuts where the styles can be duplicated EASILY on your own, and that's been the case for me ever since going here. I definitely recommend it!!
Posted 01/05/07
Twice I have gone there and twice I've had the best haircut ever. Paid a little much but it was worth it. I get compliments everyday!
Pros: Knowledgeable stylist (at least the one I had), no pressure
Cons: On the expensive side

I can't tell you how horrible this place was! There is a big sign in the window saying "Walk-in's Monday - Thursday $25". There is the same sign at the host stand. After walking in and having a decent cut, the hostess tries to charge be $42 for the cut. They informed me if that you had been there before as I said I had, that it was $42. I pointed out to the hostess that none of their materials say that and no one ever said that. She was unable to give me the name of the manager or anyone that could address the situtation. They are dishonest and I would seriously think twice before coming here and if you so be sure to ask A LOT of questions.
Pros: Decent Cut
Cons: Sneaky, Dishonest

one of my girlfriends told me about a hairstylist his name is PINI.
i booked appointment with him. my hair is very thin and i hated my hair before.
PINI promised me that its going to be "the best hair cut u've ever had". and he was right. i think he is highly educated with hair style. try him, i will never replace him.

I just got my hair cut here about a week ago. The cut was good, the atmosphere was OK, they played some MJ and Madonna. I paid $63 which is more then I would normally pay, but cheap for NYC standards, especially in that area. I had some trouble understanding my cutter..he had a really strong accent, but overall I think it was worth it. Also, me and my friend both walked in, and didnt have to wait at all.
Pros: Price (for NYC), Decent cuts
Cons: Stylists Accent
Posted 04/25/05
What a great cut Rose gave me! I have long straight hair and mistakes show when they layer it so I was thrilled to get a decent cut and blow dry at a decent price! It was a gamble since I walked in without an appointment. Clean not chic premises. Super fast but attentive. Listened to what I wanted. I've tried everybody in the neighborhood including upscale salons on Lex that pamper but don't deliver. Run to Rose! I have no connection to her other than gratitude! C
Pros: skill, speed, nice
Cons: no luxury wash

When I first moved to NYC, I wasn't sure where to find the best haircut for the best price. I tried a few different places and got HORRIBLE cuts. Finally, I decided to try Ben David on my way home from work one day, and it was by far the best haircut I've EVER gotten. I guess I got lucky! I've recommended it to friends and they all agree.
Pros: availability of appts, fast service, GREAT cuts
Posted 08/13/02
great stylists, friendly service, good value. Stylists seem up to date and ready to make good recommendations or follow direction.
