Honestly, their burgers are so tasty, i'm not so hot on the home made ketchup. the big thing that for me makes it 3 stars and not 5 is the inconsistency, sometimes we get the right burger cooked right and thats a 5 star, other times, its

This is the second location I've tried and I loved it so much I went back the next day. My only wish is that they had a beer & wine license for this location too.

After hearing and reading about this place, I knew I had to give it a try. I was shocked when my umami burger was put in front of me. The meat was still very red and raw looking and for those of you who know me, I do not like red/raw looking meat. I almost had it returned to the kitchen but decided to give it a try since the meat did not taste bloody at all. The burger was uberly tender but I think what I enjoyed most about this place was their fries and ice cream cookies!

This place will leave you with the best burger taste ever. Very small place and very small menu. But what is on the menu is superb. Always Juicy and never overcooked. The fries were amazing as well. Parking can be tricky but its not too bad compared to other parts of Los Angeles.

Look, I know it's a soft opening this week, but things were really bad tonight. First off, the waiters did not know the menus had had to constantly grab one from us to see what we were talking about. Second, we waited forever for half our

Pros: Burger Tasted Good
Cons: Everything Else You Could Imagine...
You can tell there's passion and ideas behind these lovely morsels. All the ingredients; even the ketchup are home made! Very tasty, interesting burgers. Best I've ever had!

Pros: different, unique
Cons: I want more!
Los Angeles has tons of burger venues and yet this relative new entrant (1Q '09) manages to compete with its savory, gourmet offerings. I would venture to say that Umami's Port and Stilton burger is on par with Father's Office's lone

Pros: Gourmet burgers rival that of Father's Office
Cons: tight seating
This place has really, really interesting burgers. If they had beer, sweet potato fries, and gourmet appetizers, I think my wife and I would go here instead of Father's Office. The burgers they make here are truly unique and pack some

Pros: Burgers, fries, presentation
Cons: No beer (sad face)
This place will rock your world if you want a flavorfull and satisfying eating experience. Layer upon layer of flavors present themselves to your palate and make you glad you are not eating at a "regular burger place". I had the Umami Burger on my first visit and I am recommending it to all my friends. You can't exactly put your finger on what makes it so good - shiitaki mushrooms, carmelized onions, roasted tomatoes bun toasted crispy on inside soft on the outside - there must be 15 details that make this burger so awesome. This place has done for the burger the equivalent of what Bill Gates has done for the modern PC - given it a whole new dimension. Not only is Umami the fifth flavor but its off the chart in satisfying my eating experience. Try it and you will see what I am talking about.
