In Washington its often too cold to go to Wild Waves which is only open a few months of the year, but you can always go to the Great Wolf Lodge where its 82 degrees year round. I dream of going one day when its snowing. While it can be expensive to go here as all admission includes hotel night it does make for a great weekend getaway and for the price you pay for your hotel room you get almost two full days of water park admission for at least 4 people, so if you do the math it is cheaper than our other Washington water park option. It can be crowded, with lots of children running around the hotel at all times, but bring some along or join in with them. There are even theme rooms available where you can sleep in a cave for a hefty price and a few other options. Some other amenities are on site, including a restaurant, but the water park is by far the best attraction. There is even an outdoor hot tub if the 82 degrees gets to be too much for you, but it can be just what you need to fight off seasonal depression.

                  Pros: 82 degrees, water park

                  Cons: lots of kids

Per the last reviewer's notes, the price isn't just for the room. It pays for entry to the water park. The combination of both water park and huge guest room is well worth the price. My family absolutely loved it and plan to go back at least once a year.

We have a family of six and stayed in the family suite. Honestly, I've seen much better rooms in the Mar riot for half the price, but it was nice here. Its all the accommodations which make this worthwhile. I love the convenience of everything. Food is pricey though. You will also have long wait times for the elevator (I took the stairs to the 7th floor quite a bit). As far as the room; the cups were dirty, coffee pot didn't work, lock on our door was broken (they never fixed it like they said they would- no biggie I suppose). All in all_ the room was just to store your stuff and just sleep. My family had a great time (13 year old, 11 year old, 2 year old, and and a 4 month old).

This was a great way for our family to have a mini vacation. The water park was fantastic for all of us (a 4 yr. old, 8 yr. old, 10 yr. old and adults). Remember to pack a bag with dry clothes for the day you leave to stash in a locker ($5 per day) - check out is 11 A.M. but you can use the water park until it closes at 9 P.M. The breakfast buffet was the best we had ever seen. It was spendy - 14 for adults and 7 for kids - but we had free kid's meals coupons and that helped. It was a fun splurge for our family - I highly recommend it.

Everyone who can get to Grand Mound needs to stay at Great Wolf Lodge at least one night, particularly with kids, and as many kids as your kids want to bring! There are waterproof bracelets to give entry to the hotel room, water park, and can also be loaded with a credit card for snack and arcade use. Mom and dad can visit the spa and relax, and know the kids will be thoroughly entertained, no question. The dining room buffet is spendy, and I will go to local restaurants instead in the future, but otherwise this is a one stop place, no other traveling needed.
