Since I don't know how to do a response to a review, I have to do what looks like a review. This is in response to Maria G. I want to apologize for how our complimentary consultation was perceived in your eyes. I try and look at this from the patient's point of view:

How do I receive optimal care and receive an excellent VALUE for that care at the same time?

In asking the questions and doing a clinical exam, if I see items that are of abnormal pathology, I want to address that for the patient. By abnormal pathology, it does not have to be something like cancer (although it could be), but when someone has been a grinder their whole life and only 50% of one's tooth structure that should be there is missing, I feel it is something to address. When it is related to a sleep problem, and 95% of grinding issues can be attributed to poor sleep, I believe I am doing right and providing optimal care by letting the patient know how all the pieces interconnect.

I never diagnosed sleep apnea and never do when patients answer yes to my questions. I say the warnings signs are there and we should get checked out and give the names of 2 different doctors to get evaluated. This is a medical diagnosis and needs to be confirmed by a medical doctor, as you correctly stated. The real question becomes does your medical doctor take the time to ask about your sleeping habits? Most medical schools spend 1.5 hours talking about sleep apnea in a 4 year program. 1.5 hours out of 4 YEARS!! If you the patient do not bring up that you are having sleep issues, they will never inquire.

With response to the front desk, I am glad you mentioned that and will address that at our next staff meeting. That is very valuable information that I need to know. So I thank you for that tidbit.

Again, I apologize on how things were construed. The oral surgeon I mentioned is excellent and we can restore your needs once the healing is done. I wish you well on both your dental and medical health.

The receptionist was rude and making faces when I arrived. I asked if my appointment was at 5:30 or 6pm, because I had it in my calendar for six. The woman at the computer screen made faces and shrugged, while another girl looked up my appt and said it was for 5:30. I work in Austin, so I arrived right at 5:40. I didn't have to wait long, but after a few minutes of discussing dental implants, cost, plan, time, etc. the dentist tells me he "doesn't care about my implants" and that he must refer me to an oral surgeon for that, BUT he is more concerned with "taking care of my medical condition" first. He had asked me a few questions about my sleeping habits, then proceeded to diagnose me with sleep apnea! He referred me to another doctor for a sleep study! I have never EVER been told (even by my PCP of 20+ years) that I had sleep apnea. I'm still reeling over my visit. NOT what I had expected, at all! I'll still be looking for my second opinion on dental implants.

I am a nervous dental patient, to say the least! A couple of weeks ago, I had some severe dental pain so I randomly chose to go see Dr. Polansky because his office was near my house. They made sure to see me that day, because I was in pain. I ended having to have a root canal and I didn't feel a thing!! It was absolutley painless. Dr Polansky and Stacy made me feel very comfortable and have great "bedside manner". I have since gone back for a crown and again, no pain. I highly recommend Go Dental - the staff is excellent.

Dr. Polansky and his staff are superb. I'm currently about 10 weeks into my Six Month Braces and the results are astounding. The doctor and his assistant are genuinely excited for my progress and are alway making sure that I'm happy. They even have Netflix and Pandora in every room for those who may get nervous at the dentist and need a distraction. Their extended hours let me achieve the smile I want without disrupting my job. I can't say enough about the amazing level of service.

If you are looking for a wonderful dentist and cheerful staff this is the place to go. Dr. Polansky and his staff are very professional and friendly they treat you like part of their family. I recently had a molar tooth extracted and a monodont bridge installed. These procedures were very painless even during the healing process, I would highly recommend Go Dental to anyone.
