My two dogs had been going to the Lucky Dog Lounge for over a year, and to be honest they really liked going...although I have to admit I was always leery of how close to Highway 41 the lounge was. A little over 4 weeks ago (April 9, 2009), my worst fears came true. My young lab somehow got out of the fence and was hit by a car. His pelvis was broken and required surgery to repair. I found out from the men that brought my dog into the emergency clinic he had been hit by a car. Yes, my lab is recovering, but he and my other dog will not be returning to Lucky Dog Lounge. This has been a horrible experience for both him and me!

I found the Lucky Dog Lounge's website when I was leaving the military and returning to the U.S. I was struck by the fact that this was not a run-of-the-mill boarding facility. I could tell that owner was a dog lover because the site feature updates on the "guests" that included pictures. This reassured me that my dog would be in good hands. But all of this was solidified when I met Kris Rand and saw her interact with all of the dogs and it was absolutely heartwarming. The Lucky Dog Lounge is an actual house so your pet has a home away from home. I highly, highly recommend the Lucky Dog Lounge for your pet care needs, whether it's boarding while you're away or for doggie daycare. The dogs get along great and are visibly happy and well loved. You can't go wrong in choosing the Lucky Dog Lounge!!!
There are only a few words that I say to my boxers that cause them to perk their ears and then perform an energetic wiggly dance..that would be - chicken, peanut butter, Petco, and Lucky Dog Lounge. They absolutely love the LDL, so I never feel guilty about leaving them there! I've seen first hand how the owner Kris and her staff interact with and care for the dogs. It is clear they are passionate about what they do. They have a way of creating a happy, positive atmosphere where dogs of all sizes play together in harmony. I'm not sure how they do it, but I think it has something to do with the deliberate way they introduce the dogs to the "pack" when you arrive. After bringing my dogs to the LDL and seeing how much fun they have playing/socializing with other dogs, I can't imagine ever bringing them to the more expensive caged boarding facilities. It is funny, but instead of feeling guilty about boarding my dogs, I actually feel guilty if time passes and I haven't brought my dogs to the lounge to play with all of their friends!
If you're looking for a great place to take your dog on your busier days, Lucky Dog Lounge is definitely the place! I love taking my Georgia to spend the day with Kris and the dogs at Lucky Dog. She is able to run around all day and play and be outside which are her favorite things to do without being cooped up in a crate. And with all that energy expended Georgia is a much more well behaved dog at home! Having a young dog and being a full time student isn't always easy, but Lucky Dog saves me!!! :)
Doggy daycare has been great for my two beagles. They play outside, socialize with other dogs and they LOVE Kris. She is so caring and genuinely loves all of them back! When we get to daycare, the girls run to the door and can't wait to go in and play. And did I mention they sleep SO good at night!
I absolutely love Lucky Dog Lounge. I have a four month old puppy who has been going there at least once a week (sometimes more) for the last month. Kris, the woman who runs it, is so nice and loves all the animals. I even left my dog with her overnight once and she was well taken care of. At first, I was nervous about leaving my dog with someone I didn't know all day. But Kris made me feel so at ease and she encouraged me to call to check on her as often as I wanted. Now when I drop her off, I feel completely confident that she is in excellent hands. In the mornings when my dog realizes where we are, she is so excited that she can't get in the gate fast enough. And she loves Kris! Every time I pick her up from doggy daycare, she is exhausted from running around all day and playing her little heart out. She doesn't even chew on inappropriate things as much anymore because she's too tired! I highly recommend this place. The rates are very reasonable (especially compared to other places) and it is a great alternative to leaving her home alone all day. Kris has a huge yard that the dogs play in all day long. It is also fenced in so that none of the dogs can get out. It is very safe.
My babies (Orion and Snoopy) loves the place. They stay overnight and have so much fun each time they go there. They come home tired and exhausted from all the playing, and can't wait for the next time. I lived in Alpharetta but I made the drive across town to Marietta because I would not bring my babies anywhere else.
Kris, the den mother, is always so cheerful, happy, and helpful. Everyone needs to bring their precious babies to this place for doggie daycare and overnight boarding. I love it!
