Doritt's personality and proffesional level is above all.
i felt so very comfortable in the salon, the space is clean, the music was plasent and i didn't have to wait. and above all,

love the decor, friendly staff, and best of all love my hair!!!!! this place is a really hip salon....open and bright ( love the big windows in the front). all the staff was nice and offered me drinks & each station has candies to much on while i got my rockin hairdo :) im glad i found this place!

I recently visited San Francisco badly in need of a haircut. I did some internet research and had already included Level 4 Salon on my "short list" of salons to check out once I got to the city, initially because of it's location. I visited Level 4 and felt immediately comfortable enough to scrap visits to the other 2 salons on my list. I made an appointment with Leticia (I hope I'm getting that right!) for the next day. I could not be any more pleased with the cut and style that she gave me. I had been growing my hair out for more than a year, even though I'd never had long hair before. Needless to say, it was a mess when I walked in. Leticia listened to what I thought I was looking for, discussed her recommendations with me, and gave me the MOST FABULOUS cut and style I've had in ?? years! In addition, she took the time to make sure I understood what to do with my hair once I got home, and my hair has looked great ever since! She was easy to talk to, very professional in everything she did, and even made a great restaurant recommendation! I even had a fantastic evening with my new hairstyle at the recommended restaurant. Without hesitation, I can honestly offer my highest recommendation to anyone looking for a salon in San Francisco. You couldn't do any better than Leticia! (I'm sorry if I'm spelling your name wrong!)

Just in case there are any other guys/gals like me who changed their contact info and therefore lost track of Kwandee after he left the Level 4 Salon, he is now at the Frange Blue Salon @ 760 Market St. *PLEASE NOTE* Frange Blue does not have a receptionist so you'll want to call Kwandee's number directly (instead of tracking him down in person like I did, hey, I was desperate!). I almost tried another stylist when I lost track of Kwandee, but quickly continued the search for him when I recalled my previous hair color experiences before I found him (he?s the best ? over 20 years experience with color and really listens to what you want!). Wow what a wonderful place to get your hair done!!! I had been searching for a new stylist for about a month since i had just moved from the east coast. I had been to one place previous to Level 4 and the effed up my hair BAD!!! So after reading the great reviews about this place i decided to call and i booked with Julie. That woman worked absolute WONDERS on my hair!!!!! I was so happy to have found someone who could make me look fab again (which at one point i though impossible!) and my hair had never looked better!!! I refered my best friend to her and she loved her hair as well and is now a lifetime client!!! I unfortunately have moved again but as soon as i get back to SF Julie is the first person i'll be calling!!!!!

He is amazing. He listens. He gets who you are. He is absolutely dedicated to getting both the cut and the color right for you. You will never want anyone else to touch your hair!

I had long hair (for a man) that i had been growing out from a previous bad haircut and i really wanted a change. My stylist was nice and she listened to what i wanted!! It's hard to find a good stylist and i'm glad i went here. It's a bit on the pricey side for a man's haircut but well worth it!!! Will be back!

I have several friends that go to this salon and have suggested I give it a try, my stylist of 10 years recently moved and I have been afraid to venture out into the scary world of new salon shopping! I got a Saturday appointment and about a million times thought I might run! I changed my mind once I was greeted and offered a glass of wine! The music was pretty cool too! My stylist made me feel really comfortable and showed me excatly the shades she was planning for my new look.... AMAZING color! I am so happy and have (for the first time ever) been stopped on the street! I must agree blondes have more fun , now that I am one!!!!! The cut was just a trim nothing really exciting but the blowout was nice and I had lots of volume. I will be back!

I was looking for a new stylist as my stylst simply left town no word, no forwarding salon, etc which is really a shame because I absolutely loved her! I went onto Citysearch and checked many salons before deciding to give this salon a try. I am sorry I did! After I read all of the great reviews on here, I was lead to believe this salon would rank as one of the best in the city, boy was I wrong! I had my appointment with Brandin. We made small talk, I asked him how long he had been doing hair, he answered a couple of years (that should have been my first clue as to how this experience was to end up!) The whole feel of the salon was cheap and was too casual and lacked energy (border-line unprofessional) there wasn't even a receptionist when I walked in(the place was empty), and once She did she wasn't very polite, she seemed bored and unhappy at just being there. I had my hair highlighted and cut by this stylist, (Brandin) he gave me a choppy haircut that one of my relatives or my husband could have done a better job at doing(for free!) and the highlights looked more like tiger stripes(I had told him during our consultation that I wanted a very natural look) that is not what I got! The color was also canary yellow, I suggested we put a color over the highlights and even after that it still looked bad. All I can say is people avoid this place! too many positive reviews are or should be suspicious (perhaps they are writing some of their own reviews?) and my question to this business is.....who at this salon was awarded best of Citysearch for not one but 2 or 3 years in a row?! as Brandin was the only one doing hair while I was there for 3 hours +! I sure wished I had that stylist(the one that got voted Best of Citysearch, if they in fact exist?) do my hair instead of how I ended up looking like! Never again!

I was traveling to San Francisco and looked up online to see which salon was recommended. I came across this one over and over so I booked an appointment. First clue that this place sucked - NO CUSTOMERS!! I was there for almost 2 1/2 hours. There were three stylists and I was the ONLY customer. One of the stylist actually gave the other stylist a haircut while I was there. I was getting a touch up with color and hi-lights and she pulled so hard on my hair the entire time - I've never experienced that. My stylist was very chatty and friendly but not a great stylist. I came home with really brassy hi-lights so I don't think she used toner on it to set it properly. Then we talked about trimming my ends and she ended up taking off way TOO much!! The water they used to rinse my hair was HOT only until they finally got that figured out. To finish it all off I walked back to my hotel with dye all over my forehead.

You might know someone who works there and is really good but I didn't get her - if you are just trying a new salon out - DONT GO HERE!!

I've had my hair done by Julie for over 10 years now. I foloow her whereever she goes. She gives me fresh, updated looks that are easy to care for and grow out well. I leave the color up to her and often get asked "where do you get your hair done?" or "I love that color!" If you want contemporary style with a lot of managability, then definitely make time to check her out!

As always Citysearch is right again! Julie. the stylist that did my hair at Level 4 Salon was AMAZING! First of all, she has been in the business for a long time and truly understands both HAIR and COLOR! She listened to me and worked magic with my curly fine hair. I received several compliments by the guys in my office already! - (go figure!) Thanks Julie you are the bomb! I will be going back to see Julie at Level 4 Salon in 6 weeks for another fantastic haircut and the best color in SF!!!

I promised my haircutter I would write him a review, sorry it's taken so long! I first started seeing Len when he owned his own salon (I first started seeing him 3 years ago there!) I went as a test project for my girlfriend (she was looking for someone as well) and Len passed the test. Before I was pretty much used to going to supercuts or a barber, until I (correction, We) found Len! Simply put the guy gets it. He knows how to cut some mean hair! Whether it be a classic men's or military style(he doesn't use clippers, but he scissor over combs the cut old school style!) or trendy longer layered men's cuts, Len's your guy! My girlfriend always looks amazing after a visit with Len too. So if you are looking for an awesome mens' cut or amazing women's cut he's your guy! Thanks Man! You're the Bomb!

I followed Len to this salon after going to him at his own salon for 6 years, he closed it a few month's ago and I still miss it! I was so bummed out about him closing that beautiful space! This salon is nice, but the best part is that I still get to see my fabulous stylist Len. I found Len originally on CitySearch and have been going to him ever since. I love the way he layers my hair just right (not choppy) more blended and the highlights he creates are simply amazing! He uses 3 colors on my hair for a natural look and the best part about it is I don't even need to go in after 6 weeks because the color still looks good (that's how good he is!) While I miss his old salon (Utopia ) I followed him here and would follow him anywhere! Ok, well maybe not to Alaska! Seriously Ladies do yourself a favor and see this amazing stylist and colorist! He is a creative hair genious!

I have lived in San Francisco for over 20 years and during that time have had my hair cut and colored at many different salons, the the super high end to the corner barber. I have been getting my hair done here for over a year and am very happy with both my cut and color. Great Service I recommend visiting this salon.

Not sure how salons are rated on citysearch but this one is way over rated and out of line !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Imade my apt. based on reviews from citysearch . however i was disappointed from the moment i walked in . the place was empty and quite i was the only person in there . no warm greeting i was rushed in my consultation he didn't listen to what i wanted . in result my highlights are far too blonde without any tone ,texture or lowlights . it's just white blonde without any depth and my hair is damaged as a result ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,NOT RECOMMENEDED

Growing up in San Francisco, I was usually treated to a $20 cut at a friend's salon that left me feeling as if the stylist didn't understand what I wanted. Aside from the usual trim, I once had my hair layered at her salon, and she destroyed my hair and gave me split ends. For four years after, I grew my hair out to about 3 feet in length (crazy, I know) because I wanted to donate hair, but keep it long. When I finally decided to cut my hair, I searched for the best salon according to reviews and price; Level Four exceeded my expectations when I received not only an amazing cut, but a shampoo and blow-dry ( I was used to spray bottles of water and coarse combs.) The stylist listened to what I wanted, and cut my hair perfectly; it was really manageable, light, and practical. I told her I liked to keep all my hair at a length that allowed me to tie it up into a ponytail; she kept the layered front pieces that length while also framing my face. She was also a great conversationalist.

I was never completely satisfied with my hair until I went to Kwandee. He has been coloring and cutting my hair for a year and each time I go I am 100% happy. My husband says my hair has never looked better. Kwandee takes his time and does an amazing job. He got the color just right. I highly recommend Kwandee if you are looking for a new stylist in San Francisco. You won't be disappointed.

Kwandee was amazing! He listened to exactly what I wanted, made suggestions based on my daily hair routine, and gave me a whole bunch of tips for how to style and take care of my hair. He also was really great to talk to and was overall incredibly friendly and welcoming. I loved how my hair turned out - it was the first time that I've left a salon without my hair being pumped full of product and hairgel, as he wanted to be sure to mimic my daily routine. The receptionist was also really nice. Great experience, look forward to going back!

I saw NOUSHIN forthe first time for my cut and color she gave me amazing highligth that looks very natural with dimansion and just the perfect shade .and for my cut i was ready for a change and she made it happen she listen to what i wanted and suggested the perfect cut for my face and highlights i just love it .i get noting but compliments all the time .who new getting your hair done could be so much fun she is also lots of fun and super creative i told her i will go to what ever salon she moves to

I have decided to write a review about my stylist Leticia @ Level 4 Salon. I started going to Level 4 after reading the reviews and because my friend and I wanted to find a nice, classy place to go to in the city. After my first haircut in 2004, I was hooked! I have been going to Leticia for the past 3+ years and won't let anyone else touch my coif. She has great experience and is very knowledgeable about haircare. Every time I go, I know that I am going to walk out looking fabulous! I used to go to a salon in Oakland and I had to plan to be there for about 5 hours just to get a cut, wash and blowout! My stylist at that time would work on 3 other clients along with myself at the same time! At Level 4, I am out in an hour and she only attends to me during that time. I never have a problem booking an appointment and the rest of the staff is great! If you are looking for a great salon in San Francisco, go to Level 4!!!!!!!

I am way overdue in writing a review for one Ms. Letisha Hill. I am not big on writing reviews, spending time on myspace, facebook, yelp and the like, but it's time I give credit where credit is due. Letisha is one of the most amazing, versatile, and talented stylists around! She's been my stylist for over 10 years and I am a big fan on both a professional and personal level. I take no pride in saying that I am probably one of her most difficult clients - calling at the last minute to get an appointment, fidgeting in the chair, chatting everyone up and yet she still excepts my calls! :) From relaxers, braids, weaves, my lovely wedding day hair, and everything you can imagine - I come in a hot mess and leave just plain hot. Who can go from blonde highlights to a fierce hair weave? I tell you who...Letisha "Sugar" Hill can. Thanks Letisha!

I went to Level 4 to get my hair highlighted. Noushin did a GREAT job on the highlights. I have had my hair done by Noushin at least 6 times. the last going dark. Due to me trying to color my hair my self. Never again. I love level 4 and Noushin also is the only one i let cut my hair. I have never been dedicated to going to a place for a haircut or color before I found noushin at Level 4.

I have no idea why this Level 4 Salon was a citysearch winner! I decided to make an appointment for a cut and highlight here after reading such rave reviews. I was scheduled with Noushin, who I was told was "One of our best stylists". For starters, this place is a converted apartment unit, not exactly the decor and location I would expect from a respected salon who charges clients about $150.00 for a partial highlight! Absurd! As I sat in my chair I watched in confusion and somewhat terror as Noushin randomly placed foils on my head. Absolutely no strategy to her coloring madness, just random foil placement all over my crown. She ran out of solution twice and had to run to the back room to mix more, leaving me there to stare at this Medusa mess of foils and tangled hair. As she began to wash my hair out, she realized that they did not book enough time for her to cut my hair! I asked her if she could at least dry my hair which she kindly did. After drying my hair, uncombed, then raking through the tangles creating even more damage, I saw what the hell had happened to my hair!!! Tiger stripes, spots, roots, you name it, this was one of the worst highlight jobs I have ever paid for in my life! I was appauled!! I paid for my over priced Lion King highlight job and left that disgusting excuse of a salon forever. There was no way I was going back to that mess for a correction! I've since then, paid over $350 in corrections and I have one more trip to go in order to erase the track marks in my hair from an amateur stylist. Citysearch salon recommendations have failed myself and my friends in the past, I was not about to go back and read any more damn reviews. I decided to go to a professional salon that could fix my damaged hair no matter what the cost. If you want a good colorist, go to Joseph Cozza salon. You get what you pay for, and when it comes to fixing a bad hair job, the cost doesnt seem to matter that much anymore.

I spent forever trying to find someone who could do a FABULOUS job on my highlights and do a FABULOUS cut/style on my hair. After a year of horrible salon visits in SF, I found that KWANDIE and BRANDON at level4 have the whole package.

I first went to the salon in '07- 2 weeks before my wedding! I was desperate to find someone who could make my hair look NORMAL. I was so nervous. Kwandie did such a great job on my highlights and Brandon did such a great job on my cut. They listened to exactly what I wanted and also gave me tips as to how to keep my hair looking great inbetween visits. I've always highlighted my hair and have been waiting to find a salon that does a great job-everytime, with no BS.

Each time I've been to Level4, both Kwandie and Brandon do an amazing job and I feel like a million bucks when I leave!

My vote goes to Kwandie for the best highlights in SF and to Brandon for the best shampoo, cut AND style.

I had to have my layers trimmed and when I called for a quote I was told it could cost about $50 bucks. That sounded cheap for such a well-reviewed salon, so I made an appointment. I got one on short notice, but it was early in the morning and the stylist seemed really ticked to be there so early, and she didn't speak to me (besides asking what I wanted) until 30-45 minutes into the haircut. I showed her how much I wanted cut from the layers but later I noticed that she was barely cutting anything off my hair. I thought maybe her initial trim was just a first step, but when she gave me the mirror to see the cut, she said she was done. I thought she was just getting started! I expressed this to her, and said I wanted it shorter, and she said to just wait until she blow-dried it. I did NOT feel confident enough to ask her to keep trimming, and my hair looked the same, if not just a little bit worse since instead of having long long hair with split ends I had shorter hair with too-long layers.

To top it off, they charged me $75 for the cut, and the look on her face was almost like a dare to contest it. I would have been so happy to pay the price if it was what I asked for and if I had not been treated rudely, as if I did not know what I wanted.

Although it cost more than I may feel comfortable paying, it was WELL worth it. The atmosphere was warm and unpretentious and the service was impeccable. My stylists name is Zeon. He was absolutely fabulous. He applied a semi-perm color and told me it would last about 3 weeks. Well, it's been a month or maybe longer and the color is nearly as vibrant as the day he applied it. I attest that to the extra care he took in applying heat and just having the experience to know when it was ready. This was my first time and although I may wait a little longer to get serviced, it certainly will NOT be my last.

I loooove my new hair .i used to see NOOSHI in her old salon PATRICK EVEN .but i was out of the city when she made her move .i have been looking for her for a while now so finally i rememberd the name of her old salon .they told me she was at level 4 now .so i decided to visit her again for my hair cut and highlights.she is sooooo gtreat meticulous .that I just had to write quik review to share with you all how professional she is in what she dose and how happy i'm to have her as my stylist again my cut and color looks sooooo beatiful my heavy hair feels so light and great and soooo easy to style the high lights are rich and gorgeus .

I just saw Level 4s reply to my "Worst Haircut ever" comment, and i can assure everyone that it was Letisha who cut and colored my hair. There is even a picture of her on the website, on the video. Please do not insult my intelligence, I went to here a few times (6 to be exact), so of course I know who i am talking about. I stand by my earlier comments, though, it was the worst hair experience ever.

So I've been to a few other salons around Union Square, and haven't been too impressed with the level of service, nor quality of work. But at Level 4 Salon, I've been very impressed with the quality of work Brandon has done. The salon is upscale but not at all pretentious like a few other salons down the block. This place is very comfortable to be in. I've been here a couple of times and I always come out in love with my new haircut/color. Brandon knowns how to listen to what your needs are in a cut and will spend that extra time perfecting everything. He is great at what he does! On top of all this, he gives the best head message I have ever gotten from a stylist. I think i finally found a great stylist I can rely on for amazing hair!

This was a very experience I must admit. I was a little apprehensive being that I am trying someone new. I'm pretty sure a lot of people can relate to this. You really don't know what you will come across when you are trying a new hair stylist. I wanted to get my hair colored because my hair turns gray at the temple really bad. So first I was asked what did I want. And when I answered this question I was relieved to find out that Delkia was in fact listening. She then informed me to consider my skin tone and my age. I am not be compete with my daughter and her girlfriends. I do want something age appropiate. She also wanted me to consider the time of year. Winter is darker shades she informed me. Uh-huh. I thought. Needless to say I am very pleased with the outcome of my new color. Also I asked for a trim and guess what, I received a trim. Not a cut. She actually knows the difference. How wild is that. I will definitely be seeing her again. She is wonderful and very pleasant.

I've been going to Kwande at Level 4 for a year and he's absolutely fantastic. He's never in a rush and always spends a long time deciding what I want and changes as I also change what I like over time. He truly is talented and great to spend the hours with as he's just a great guy. I've spent a lot of $$ on my hair on various cities and he is really the best. He's great with hair color. I get mine to be blonde but never want it too blond. He makes it look natural yet outstanding all at once. Same with my cut - I want something really stylish with chopping my hair and he's done cuts with my hair I didn't know I could do.

Great guy. Absolutely fantastic talent. Great price.

I had been considering having my hair colored for some time. The seed was planted about 10 years ago in Georgia by my flamboyant, yet to-the-point, stylist/barber, who decribed the color and even distribution of my grey as "that seen on most rodents". Even though I didn't take his advice, the description remained, branded into my memory.

Recently I began re-exploring the idea of coloring my hair. I was encouraged by some to do so, mostly friends who saw the grey as a contrast to my still thirty-something energy. My family, on the other hand, were not so enthusiastic. After all, I am the only male among my siblings still blessed with a full, thick head of hair. I was told how distinguished I looked. Well, Raymond Massey looked distinguished, too. But I don't particularly want to look like Raymond Massey. Not yet, anyway. And I damned sure don't want to look like a rodent.

So last week I made an appointment at Level 4. I was aware that it was a little pricier than I was accustomed to paying for hair care, but I figured if I was going to make a decision on whether or not coloring my hair was a mistake, I needed to have a good job done on which to base my decision. An attractive young woman named Del was assigned the task, and I must say I could not be more pleased with the outcome. The color was so near the existing shade of brown that most of my co-workers only noticed the superb scissor cut. And when I asked if they noticed anything else different, the predominent response after giving me the once-over was "You shaved...?". Unbelievable. My beautiful girlfriend loves my new crown, too. And she's not easily impressed.

Therefore, I give Level 4 a five-star rating and a big 2 thumbs up to my new stylist/colorist Del. The experience was pleasurable and the desired results achieved. And my new look is more of a refection of what I feel within. What more could you ask for?

It has been six months since my last haircut. I normally go to local barbers in my neighborhood, but I wanted to try something new, something down town and trendy. As I entered Level 4 Salon, I was greeted and served coffee. I discussed to Delkia my likes and dislikes about my hair, routine hair care, what I wanted, and what her ideas were. Delkia was very friendly, answered all my questions, and made great suggestions. The end result was perfect; exactly what I wanted. My hair looked healthy and shiny. Less then 5 min after I left the salon, I got a compliment on my hair by a stranger. Thank you Delkia!

I booked an appointment for my girlfriend, who hadn't had a professional cut and color for some time. We were just visiting San Francisco for a few days, and I read many of the reviews for Level 4. My girlfriend was very taken with the staff, and her stylist (and colorist), Nancy. The work that Nancy performed was not only very professional, but her style and work manner helped relax my girlfriend (who is generally very concerned that stylists don't listen to her). I was very impressed with everyone on the staff. I would highly recommend Level 4.

I was in San Francisco for the first time and wanted to go to a really nice place to get my hair cut. I found Level 4 online and saw that it has high ratings, and was affordable for San Fran prices. My plane ended up being delayed, so I called to let them know I would be a few minutes late. The receptionist on the phone was completely fine with it, giving me adequate directions for my first time in the city. The people there made me feel like a long time customer. Once I got there they treated me to a much needed glass of water and coffee for my girlfriend. Brandon spent an hour and a half on my hair! He was so precise with every cut he made, a perfectionist in his own right. He was also very down-to-earth and pleasant to talk to. I felt he could've went a little further with my hair, I wanted a more drastic change and maybe I should've explained that to him more. After the cut he gave me a small discount on the price and once I move to the city I will plan on going to Level 4 for future cuts.

I went to Kwandee for my hair color and I have to say that it is the worst hair color that I have ever had. Even in the days when I was unfortunately using color from a box, it looked better than this. I was really looking forward to the hair color because of all the glowing remarks I read on this site, but I have to say that I was VERY disappointed. Despite the fact that I told him that I wanted my hair dark brown, it is now light brown. To make matters worse, it is uneven, being much lighter on the top than on the bottom. I could have done that myself at home! I have pesky grey hairs which other salons have had no trouble covering, in fact, I even stressed to him how important it was. But unfortunately Kwandee did not listen to me and now I have my grey hairs to look at through my uneven brown hair. Oh, but it doesn't stop there. My hair has a green tint to it as well. He had told me during the coloring process that he had to add a lot of green to counteract my hair's brassiness. Unfortunately now my hair has a green tint which was fine for Halloween, but looks pretty bad in my office and out on the street. The service there was so bad, that I couldn't help wondering if the people at the salon had written the good reviews on Citysearch. Bad, bad, bad. I would never go back to this salon EVER and would HIGHLY recommend avoiding it at all costs.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Zeon Kitchener!! I started seeing Zeon about 8 years ago and unfortunately lost touch with him a few years ago after I moved away from SF for a while - thank god for Google! Now that I'm back, I'm never leaving!

Zeon's talent for color continues to amaze me. Two things stand out above all else:

First, he has a true gifit for matching colors with skin tone. This is an especially big deal for me because I'm very fair skinned with a cool pink undertone, but I have warm hazel eyes. Every other hair dresser seemed to look only at my eye color and I'd end up with colors that clashed with my skin tone. Not Zeon - he has an incredible ability to choose colors that work with my whole color profile. He just did a lovely brunette that has enough warmth to keep from washing me out, but doesn't have the orange / yellow tones that clash with the pink in my skin. Of course, the real test is when the color starts to fade (and I've bleached my hair twice in 18 months so it's porous as hell) and the color has held up just fine! It's softened up a bit, but withOUT pulling red and still looks fabulous! Plus, Zeon was the ONLY hairdresser ever to do a successful blonde for my skin tone - again, really hard to do with my complexion because you can't do yellow (clashes with the pink in my skin) but a very ash tone would wash me out. Zeon got it right every time, which brings me to point #2....

Zeon has an INCREDIBLE eye for detail and is EXTREMELY THOROUGH!! I cannot emphasize this enough! I have fine hair but I have a ton of it - therefore, in order to have a blonde highlight job done right, I need at least 2 million foils to get the entire look right - Zeon uses closer to 3. NO, and I mean NO other hairdresser has ever put this much effort into my hair. Zeon makes sure his clients know he's got allllll the time in the world to devote to making them look fabuous!!

I absolutely recommend Zeon and Level 4 Salon!! :)

Kwandee was great! I have extremely thick, long curly blond hair that takes hours and hours to highlight. In the past, I've had some trouble with stylists cutting corners to get it finished more quickly, and it shows with the results I've seen. Not with Kwandee! He took the time to figure out exactly what I wanted done and then he pulled it off beautifully, without making it feel rushed. I have already been back to see him again and my hair came out just as beautiful the second time. I highly recommend Level-4 Salon and Kwandee in particular for gorgeous highlights.

I am new in SF and was looking for someone who had a good reputation for color and cuts. Kwandee at Level 4 Salon was great at both. He did a fantastic job on the color and highlights on my blonde hair and even though I am growing out my hair and didn't want a lot cut off he was very good at shaping it up! My daughter also went in for a haircut and it was very cute! We will both go back : ) Everyone in the office was very friendly and we think that Level 4 Salon was a great find in a great location. Union Square is just around the corner for some shopping once your hair is looking so good!

Noushin is the absolute best! She listened to what I wanted and gave me what I asked for, all the while giving me correct advice on what kind of cut will suit my face and skin. I have psoriasis (on my scalp, face, ears and neck) so I always feel self conscious when going out to get my hair cut. But Noushin was completely understanding and professional and didn't treat me as if I was some horribly diseased person. And I absolutely LOVED my new haircut. What a friendly and fabulous experience!

I was referred to NOOSHIN by one of my friends .so i made an appointment for cut and color . without doing my home work I went to my appointment . I knew what I wanted for my color but for the cut I had NO CLUE . I wanted something that is easy to style since I have lots of hair and something that is going to look professional and CHIC if that's not confusing enough no razor cut it gives me split ends . after our nice chat while my hair color was processing .she gave several great suggestions made me feel very comfortable that I told her she can do what ever she wants . after she started cutting I even felt better the way she handled her scissors and her techniqes . I could just tell the GIRL KNOWS HER WORK . she cut my hair ways that that i have never seen before and have been going to some of the best salons in the city . after I left the salon I could not stop touching my hair it felt so light and looked so great I am writhing this review about a week later my hair looks even better than it did the first day if that's even possible . it is so easy to style I just love my hair . I have been getting my hair hilighted since highschool -- about 18 years. I had been going to a stylist for about 5 years, but felt she was getting stale, and my color was taking on a brassy orange-ish shade as she tried to cover the greys that are popping up.
I broke up with her and I struggled to find someone to take my hair from the orange-ish color back to the wheat blonde shade I prefer. I tried one colorist twice, and was left feeling that for as much as I was paying, she sure wasn't listening...and the lowlights she added (why??) only made my hair have more of an orange tone.
I put out the word that I was in search a good colorist. Turns out that 2 of my coworkers (both beautiful blondes) go to Kwandee at Level 4 salon. They promised that he is a good listener and an even better colorist.
My experience was just as they promised. Kwandee at Level 4 Salon looked at the photos I brought and talked to me a bit before mixing up color. He was funny and complementary. The color is pretty and natural. I am able to go a little longer between colors becouse the hilights work with my outgrowth. I definitely recommend Kwandee. It was not difficult to get an appointment. The salon is quiet and clean. An all-around positive experience.

It was, shall we say, unintentionally multicolored from DYI touch-ups and bad dye jobs.I found Level 4 Salon and master colorist Kwandee through CitySearch and thought I'd give it a try. The reviews are true! Kwandee transformed my hair, using both highlights and color. He did a consultation with me a week before the appointment ,and he had clearly thought about what might work best. He didn't promise me he could correct my neglect in one session, he listened to what I wanted, he asked about the environment in which I work, and he then performed nothing short of a miracle. Kwandee just rocks! Like Level 4 itself, he is friendly, unpretentious and serious about hair. If you are looking for a professional stylist who is highly skilled and empathetic, fair prices and a welcoming atmosphere, look no further.

I love to try out different hair salons maybe because I haven't found the right place yet. But Level 4 Salon is a place I can see myself going on a regular basis. I was impressed with the friendly and professional atmosphere. My hair stylist, Kwandee was great in explaining how he was cutting, coloring, and managing my hair. I told him briefly what I was looking for and he did exceptionally well in understanding and delivering the type of hair style I wanted. When he did anything else that I didnt not mention, he was very professional in letting me know what he thought was best to improve the condition of my hair. I was also very impressed how there was no sale pressure at all. In fact, I wish I bought some hair product for myself when I was there. He gave me "at-home" directions so I can maintain the great quality of my hair after the treatment. Overall, it was a great experience and I enjoyed many conversations with the staff at Level 4 Salon.

After a "forced divorce" from my colorist of 12 years due to the front desk/receptionist issues, I was on the search for a new place. I read all the reviews in Citysearch about Level 4 and Kwandee and took the plunge. SO HAPPY I DID. Kwandee was able to do my highlights and matched them on sight. It looked great! Great attention to detail, he made me feel comfortable in what was an ufortunate experience. His techniques were not what I was used to, but rest assured, the end result was fab-u-lous. I am very happy with Kwandee and I HIGHLY recommend Kwandee for color. His cut of my curly curly hair (and natural ladies out there, you know how hard it is to find a good cutter of curly hair, and you know how we suffer when we get a sucky cut!)- Oh my god. It is awesome. Like the skies opening up and heaven singing, Kwandee gave me a cut that made my thin hair thick and curls defined. The salon's price is right, the salon is great, the receptionist is super friendly, and the place is not overly pretentious. It's in a great location off of Union Square and the late hours are nice. First time clients get a 20% discount with the coupon! Go for Kwandee- you'll be very happy you did!

My old hairdresser just moved so I was looking for a new one. I searched the internet and came across Level 4. After reading glowing review upon glowing review, I was excited to see what Kwandee would do with my hair. I am now pleased to add my own glowing review! I've been to a lot of different hairdressers, and Kwandee stood out for so many reasons. First, he was incredibly generous with his time, staying much later than he had planned to combine the separate haircut and highlight appointments I made to have my hair styled on very short notice. Second, he was super calm and attentive, focused on understanding what my expectations were for my haircut. Third, I absolutely love my new haircut!!! Not only do I love it, but it also elicited compliments from my older sister and mom, who both always have high expectations for my hair! ;) Fourth, I love my highlights. I think they are fantastic. But Kwandee decided they were not the exact shade he had envisioned (and again, to belabor it, I LOVE them), and wouldn't let me pay for them? Yes, you read that correctly. Talk about integrity!! I'm so excited to have found Kwandee and Level 4. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!!

I saw Brandon for a cut a couple months ago and he was such a nice guy and did a wonderful job. The best thing about this salon, aside from the haircuts, is the fact that it is sooo unpretentious and layed back. It's not hoity-toity and there are no attitudes at this place, which is quite refreshing given that i've had my fair share of experiencing stylist drama and unprofessionalism at multiple salons. My recommendation is to go on a week night when it is the most quiet and relaxing. Great service and overall great salon.

I'd definitely recommend Brandon at Level 4 hair salon. I had high expectations going into the place. It was rated the best hair salon by city search in multiple categories. I had so many different hair colors in my life and actually just wanted to get my hair looking natural again. Brandon died my hair a semi permanenent color that matched my natural hair color. I love the color so much I'm going in to get it done permanently. Not only was brandon a fabulous hair colorist he was really enjoyable to spend time with. I was long overdue for a makeover and I did my homework. I found Level 4 Salon to be best of the best, and that is what I got, best of the best. I went in and met their hair specialist, Noushin. She took the challenge in with no fear. After informative consultation, she transformed my whole look and I walked out with exactly what I wanted. My highlight are haircut are perfect for each other. I got nothing but compliments and my hats off to Noushin.

I feel so lucky to have found my amazing stylist Letisha at Level 4 Salon. She is personable, professional and specializes in extensions. Many people compliment my long hair and are completely shocked when I tell them that I have extensions. Letisha beautifully blends my hair texture and color with the extensions leaving a natural and flowing look. I also love how she cuts, colors and styles my hair. The staff at Level 4 Salon are consistently friendly and always professional.

I came to this salon for a summer makeover. I'm latina and have natural dark and long hair. I really wanted to switch it up this summer. I've never gone light before, or had a major hair cut before. I did my research on salons and checked out their reviews, I was very impressed by one in particular. This was it!!!! I'm so glad I made this one was my choice!!!! I made an appointment with KWANDEE, and he made my dream come true!!! I showed him pictures of what I wanted and didn't want and he completly reasurred me I was in good hands. He definitly understood what I wanted!
I've gotten so many compliments on my hair!!! It's of a golden honey color with light blonde highlights that really made me stand out and complimented my skin tone to the point of perfection! NOT to mention I had a great cut! Shoulder length, bangs to the side, and he fixed the back of my hair by taking out my crazy layers, and finalized it by giving it a razor blend cut. Kwandee even showed me how to maintain my hair, and style it! He is wonderful!!! Everyone says that my hair looks so healthy and that the color and cut flattered me perfectly! Just the thing I was going for! I'm definitly a customer for good! Thanks so much Kwandee! You made my makeover a life changing experience! I love my new look! ;-)

What a nightmare!!!! I went to this salon to see my amazing stylist Noushin and they told me they didn't know where she went. I had an appointment and they didn't call me to cancel and said they have no idea where she is she no longer works here. They were rude and incredibly unhelpful.

I walked outside down the street and ran into Noushin. She is working across the street at Stephen Saiz salon. I was able to book an appointment!

Level 4 Salon was so unprofessional, rude and disrespectful I would not trust anyone who works there...if a business is run like this I refuse to support it and don't think anyone should. THEY ARE AWFUL!!!

Personally, theres nothing like a REALLY GREAT haircut and color job to give my mood (and ego) a boost! I met my stylist, Brandon, two years ago at a different salon in the union square area and followed him to Level Four. And i'm so glad i did. I see him regularly, but regularly for me is about every 3 months. I'm one of "those people." I put things off until one day i wake up, look in the mirror and say "geez girl, you needed a haircut yesterday! Anyways, I saw him a week ago, got the works: cut, color, and a kickass blowdry, and today realized how those three hours are the single best investment i make for myself next to going to the gym. Seriously! I felt great when i left the salon and a week later im still getting compliments. For the first time I've found a stylist who truly gives QUALITY work. Everything he does is thoughtful and purposeful. Because of him i look fabulous(at least i feel like i do)! I hate to reveal my little beauty secrets but i must give credit where its due and frankly..Brandon is the bomb!

Seriously, he is amazing. I just moved to San Francisco so I wanted an updated, more trendy style and highlight job. Kwandee knew exactly what I meant and did a fabulous job. He is also funny and very kind. The prices are competitive, the atmosphere is very comfortable, and Kwandee gives GREAT head massages. I would recommend him to anyone!

My first time to Level 4, but i won't be my last. Noushin, who is new to Level 4, cut my hair last week and I walked out of there feeling like a new man. I have never been complimented on how nice my hair looked before in my life. I am taking my mother to Level 4 next week to get a cut & color. Everyone there is super friendly & professional. I have never seen anyone use the tecniques that Noushin used to cut hair. The way she handeled those sissors was very impressive and the results on my hair was truely amazing. 5 STARS FOR NOUSHIN and LEVEL 4. Thanks for reading my review.

I have been searching for a stylist who delivers results I want, for the longest time, until I found Lindsay. Her understanding of "customers always right", is executed every time. Sitting in her chair always means I am going to get what I WANT. NOT WHAT SHE WANTS FOR ME! Let me first start off by saying that Level 4 Salon has the friendliest, cozy, warm vibe to it. Its clean, the staff welcomes you, music is playing and the price is so right. I get my hair cut and colored by Letisha Hill. I have been going to her for over 5 years now and I have to say, that Letisha is a Bad Mama Jamma! She listens and uses her creative talents to give you the look, style, and color you are looking for. I recently got my hair cut short for the summer, but I just didn't know what kind of look I was going to go for. Letisha cut and colored my hair and I kid you not, I got a complement as soon as I walked out into the street!

Letisha can cut all types of hair, Black, White, Asian, Latino, Indian, kids, babies, men and woman! I'm telling you if you want someone to give you the style and look you've been waiting for, but are scared of someone TRYING to give it to you, she will give you want you want! I'm not saying this for my health, I know how hard it is to find a stylist and believe me, she is the one that you want to try out.

I have tried so many places in San Francisco to get my hair done and they all were horrible. I am from Orange County and I was trying to look for a place that matched the OC's amazing talent. Well, Level 4 is honestly the only place that I can rely on! They are so friendly and fit you in when you really need it! Kwandee is absolutely amazing with color. He did exactly what i wanted and lived up to my expectations! I really suggest going here, it's taken me a year to find my new salon that i always go to from now on!

After some disasterous dye jobs, I finally decided it was time to take my chances with a new stylist in the city. I made an appointment with Kwandee to get highlights, and when I arrived at the salon, he turned me away! He told me to wait a few weeks to let my hair recover from all the abuse it has endured. It was really refreshing that he had my best interest in mind.
When I returned a month later, not only did I leave with a dynamic color that I LOVE, he also blew my naturally curly hair out, which is not a small feat. Overall, I was impressed with his professionalism and true understanding of how to create a really natural looking blonde highlights. I'll definitly be back!

I wish I could recommend this place as so many people had done to me before I went. But I left with that uneasy feeling you get when you've just spent a lot of money and are not sure for what. The cut I received was at best adequate from a stylist who was clearly rushing to get to his next client and I'm left wondering how long before it will grow out and I can try another place. In fact, no one seemed to have much time for customer service. Perhaps once they fill all their openings there will be more time for the pleasantries one would expect from such a high end salon.

I first went to Level 4 salon when I was searching for a wedding hairstylist in 2005; I ended up having my hair cut and colored here, too. Berlin has been beyond excellent. I have always been really happy with the results. He gets what I want right away. I drastically cut with my hair really short recently after having a baby. He made a few suggestions, and I walked away completely happy. I got complements left and right and even influenced a few people to cut their hair short too as a result. It's been a few months since the cut, but the style still holds real well. Honestly, Level 4 salon is the only hair salon in the city I have faithfully gone back to. Thanks a million, Berlin.

I recently returned to San Francisco after a long period abroad. I was completely out of touch with what SF had to offer in terms of salons & "happened" upon the Level 4 Salon & Brandon. He did an amazing job correcting a poor color I already had on my hair & turning it into something glossy & beautiful. The whole staff were friendly & warm and I left the salon feeling as if I had spent the afternoon with great new friends. I was thrilled to receive tons of compliments about my hair! I highly recommend Level 4 Salon and especially Brandon.

My prior review noted Brandon is the best should have been 5 stars and not the measly 3 it notes. I was confused on how to do the review and didn't to the "Rate It" scale. So, he and the salon get all 5 stars! Brandon styled and colored (with highlights) my hair and did a fantastic job, I will definitely be a loyal client. Oh, and if you're a little stressed from the day, the little massage (temples, head, base of the neck) he does when washing your hair is heaven!

I had my hair cut by Kwandee yesterday and I cannot get over how good my hair looks! It was almost surreal how just moments (literally) after leaving the salon I received a slew of compliments on my hair - from complete strangers on the street.
Stylists in the past have greatly disappointed me by pushing their ideas and by their lack of ability to manage my curly hair. This was my first experience leaving a salon completely happy with "hair commercial" hair to show for it. Straight, soft, and bouncy - no complaints here!
Kwandee was very accommodating and has a very collected demeanor. I'm so glad I was spared the pretentious vibe I've experienced at other salons.

It's been years since I got a cut I like and I definitely owe my thanks to Kwandee.

I just got my haircut by Kwandee and it is the best cut I have ever received. I have never been one to fuss over my hair given my hectic lifestyle. Previously, when I have told other stylists that, they have given me a conventional, easy cut---which usually ends up in a ponytail. Kwandee took the time to really look at my hair, my face and gave me a really gorgeous, sassy style. Everyone at work has noticed and commented on how good I look, so many people have told me that I look years younger. I highly recommend Level4 and Kwandee.

I am new to the San Fran area. After researching several salons I booked my appt with Kwandee at Level 4 Salon. I was so pleased with his coloring skills. I am very picky about my hair. I am blonde and have highlights and he was exceptional. I highly recommend you give him a try. The salon is very friendly. I loved how all the stylist made me feel at home and as if I had been coming there for years. Kwandee even gave me a great recommendation for my son who lives in St Pete Beach Fla. So not only did I find a new stylist my 21 year old son has as well.

Give Kwandee a call you will be glad that you did. When people in the airport stop me and ask me who does my hair.....well that says it all for me.

My stylist at Level 4 is Berlin and he is AMAZING. I have been going to him for almost two years now and just recently I had a huge transition from blonde to brunette. Berlin picked out the best color, totally natural, but dramatic enough for me to still be cutting edge. He never tries to make me "look" a certain way, but knows what I like and caters to that. I would trust Berlin to do just about anything to my hair. He has great artistic instinct and is very talented. (not to mention he's totally cool and we have great conversation while I'm in the salon). All the other stylists are really friendly and although I've never had my hair done by them, I've seen their work and it is beautiful. The salon has a modern atmosphere and is really relaxing. Their prices are totally reasonable compared to some other salons in San Francisco.

Latisha at Level 4 Salon has changed my life! I have never gotten so much attention from my hair before going to see her. Men in my office were "uncomfortable around me" after a visit from Letisha, just to give you a hint at her styling prowess. I visit Letisha before EVERY major event where I will be photographed.

She is also an amazing colorist. I am came in with an idea in my head and about 5 different pictures of what I thought I wanted my hair to look like. Letisha walked through each picture I brought and deconstructed the color each one contained (highlights, lowlights, tones). In the end we found something perfect for me and I am a faithful believer in her magic forever!

The salon is so cool and relaxed. When you go in you can totally unwind with a glass of wine, tea, whatever you like! I also like that your stylist washes, colors and styles you so you are not walking around being passed from one person to another. The studio is very open and airy and totally relaxing. It?s the ultimate hair experience!!

Zeon Kitchiner, stylist at Level 4 Salon is an amazing guy. Last week, he gave me the best cut & color I have ever received. He listens, was attentive, yet he brought his own creativity to the style. It even looks great right of the shower. Other stylists in the past have told that since my hair is so straight, it's hard to cut. Not with Zeon!
I have received so many compliments from people about my hair. It's smart to book appointments in advance because they can get pretty busy.
I really can't say enough good things about Zeon and his artistry--he's just the best.

Let me preface my comments by saying I am EXTREMELY picky about someone getting my hair color absolutely perfect. That's because over the years I have encountered the full gamut of stylists--some who gave me head-turning highlights and some who gave me nightmare color jobs that eventually needed to be color corrected. I came across all the glowing reviews about Level 4 and Kwandee, and I decided to check it out. I have to admit, I was very skeptical, and so I booked a consultation to check out the salon and meet Kwandee. (As a side note, my hair was in need of color correction--platinum highlights with chunky and ashy brown lowlights--not a good look). During the consultation I found him to be incredibly down to earth with a terrific opinion on color. I felt comfortable with him and booked an appointment for a week later. Well, my appointment was this morning. ..and I have to say I am thrilled (and relieved) with the results. Kwandee color corrected my hair and gave me the most natural-looking highlights that complement my skin tone. Throughout the process he encouraged me to ask questions, and he really did go out of his way to make sure I knew what he was thinking color-wise and to make sure I was comfortable with everything. It is so comforting to find someone who gets it! I highly recommend taking in pictures of what hair color you like and don't like, as I have found this to be a great tool over the years for ensuring you and the colorist are on the same page. Holy Mary Mother of God (and you know who you are), last week I got the best haircut and color I have ever had at Level 4. Berlin transformed me. When I walked in I was a frumpy, middle-aged grandma who had lost her joie de vivre. When I walked out, I was a sassy, giggling, younger woman who couldn't find enough surfaces to catch her reflection in. Level 4 was truly a transformative experience. Don't get me wrong, I know I am more than my hair, but with that said, having great hair is so damn fun! When you go (and you must) let Berlin use his 20+ years of experience to create the look that is best for you. His talent is magical.

This place was bad for my vanity after Kwandee did my color/cut. I've spent too much time today admiring myself in the mirror.
So I walked into level 4 with a washed out two-tone thing happening, and pretty much left it in his creative hands to remedy. He did a wonderful job, getting me to a shade that I think I had imagened, but couldn't convey. Props to his ability to pick a fitting color for my complexion and image. The cut was secondary, but even that pleased me greatly.
I think the thing I was most impressed with was the level of communication that came from Kwandee; he really talked me through it, helping me to fully understand what he would do today, and how that would fit into a "plan" for my hair (over subsequent visits). I got the sense he didn't want to push my hair boundaries too much. =) As far as general conversation went, he was a pleasure to talk to. Nice gentle vibe.
Definitely try out level 4.

I read some of the reviews on this site and decided to give Kwandee a try. I always want my hair to look really natural and he did a great job of giving me exactly what I wanted- nothing overdone or high maintenance, but very pretty. I was also amazed at how soft and smooth my hair felt afterwards. He even figured out a way to fix up some botched super-short layers that someone else cut into my hair a while back. I really love my hair and I'll definitely be back to see Kwandee and Level 4's adorable mascot Rocket.

I found out about Level 4 here on City Search and decided to give it a shot. Its the best hair decision I've ever made. Upon entering I was offered coffee, tea, or wine....a very friendly welcoming. Berlin was my stylist and he gave me the exact look I was going for. I've been highlighting my hair blonde since 7th grade (I'm now 21) and this is the best color I've ever had! It looks stunning. He told me he was going to make my hair classy, glamorous, and hot. He is very talented and is also great company....a funny, nice guy. I love the new cut too. I have long, wavy hair and he styled it exactly like the pictures I brought in from a magazine. He consulted me and asked me what I wanted, and told me that he could do anything.....he also gave me tips on what color and cut would look best for me. He said, "first tell me what you think you want and then I'll tell you what I think"....then we came to an agreement from there. It looks fantastic! Level 4 has great customer service, fair prices, and awesome stylists. I highly reccomend it and just wish I'd found out about it 10 years ago.

I nearly had a negative experience with Level 4 (a rather frustrating appointment "mixup"), but Berlin went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful experience with the salon. Berlin is a terrific hair stylist.

My daughter and I feel so lucky that she discovered him for her wedding hair stylist four years ago. He did such impressive work for her wedding that we both began going to him. During the past four years he has continued to impress us.

Not only is Berlin a talented hair stylist, but also he is personable and flexible. I always look forward to going to Level 4 to have Berlin cut and color my hair because I know it will be an enjoyable time and my hair is going to look great!

I decided to set up an appointment for a cut and color with Level 4 after reading the glowing recommendations on CitySearch. This was my first time getting highlights done and I was a little nervous about getting something that would be current but not outrageously trendy. I'd also had my hair thermally re-conditioned and knew that I needed someone who has experience working with heavily processed hair. I mentioned this to the receptionist when I called for the appointment and she recommended Berlin. He was absolutely everything a 'colorist virgin' could ask for! He spent time listening to what I wanted, answered any of the questions I had and gave some great input that ultimately produced the best result that I could have possibly hoped for. I ended up with great color and a wonderfully refreshing cut and style that he showed me how to reproduce under 5 minutes at home. I had a housewarming party that same evening and everyone complimented me on both the cut and color. I also watched some of the other stylists produce some amazing results with their clients while I was there. I will certainly be returning and would recommend anyone looking to update their look to Level 4.

Great salon. There is excellent light from the floor to ceiling windows, the color is soothing, the artwork is interesting. It is not loud as most salons tend to be, but is a relaixing respite above the hustle and bustle of Union Square. Good music, too. Berlin is an incredible stylist.

Level 4 salon is the best salon that I have been to in a while. They have great customer service and the environment is just really relaxing. Tatyana was my stylist and she is just wonderful! She listens to what you want and adds her own touch to the haircut. I got so many compliments on my haircut!

After reading the wonderful reviews about Level 4 Salon I decided to try it out myself. I booked an appointment with Kwandee and boy am I glad I did. He meet my expectations and more. Kwandee took the time to make sure he knew what I wanted and made sure I was comfortable with everything he was doing from putting on color to the way he was going to cut my hair. The color came out perfect and was exactly what I had envisioned. I am relieved that I have finally found a person who I can entrust my hair to. In addition, the entire staff was very friendly, customer service oriented, and made you feel relaxed and welcomed.

I have been looking for a stylist ever since I moved to SF. I get highlites color and a cut. I must say what I experiences was beyond words. He listened and took the time to tell me what would work but also what would not work a true genious. I have found the master stylist I ve been searching for. Not only did I recieve flawless color but a cut to bring it all together not to mention a sweet visitor, his little dog rocket that seems to excite all the clients. This salon is small but has stylist bigger than life, you should run not walk if your looking for the best hair in SF.

I came to the salon and had my hair and make up do for my wedding. I was so nervous and afraid and he talked my thru the whole thing. With a great consultation and trial we sailed thru the wedding I recieved more compliments than ever for my hair and make up. Having little dog there made my day and calmed me down. I have been searching for a new color for quite sometime since my stylist (of 3 years!) messed up my hair.. (sorry but hair is important and one time is one too many). I went to Level4 after some longtime searching and prayed for the best. At Level4 Salon, I told Kwandee a vague description of the color i want and he mixed up some color and *voila* -- when he was done my color was exactly what I was looking for!! it was HOT! He really took the time to consult with me in the beginning and asked me what i wanted and listened.. I also got a trim and some bangs. I loved it! We were the last ones there since it was past closing time, both he and the girl at the front desk stayed late and was totally cool about it. Overall great!

Having just moved to San Francisco from Boston, I was nervous about finding a new hair stylist, since it took me two years to find the right one in Boston. Having read the other reviews, I decided to give Level 4 a try and opted to go to Joo because of what a few other people said about her subtle recommendations. I was very happy with my experience - everyone at the salon was friendly and down-to-earth. It's always hard to describe the style you want to a new stylist, but Joo gave me exactly what I asked for, and true to her reputation, made a suggestion for a flattering style that would suit the shape of my face. Next time, I'll definitely give her more free rein. I'm already looking forward to my next appointment. Thanks, Joo!

I went to this salon because my friend goes there and it was a bit cheaper than some of the others I looked at like Di Pietro Todd, Diva, Cowboys and Angels. I just randomly chose Tatyana, but am very glad I did because she was great. I was living with the worst haircut of my life given to me by some cheap sleazo in West Portal and she completley fixed it and made me look fabulous again! And she did exactly what I asked for with my highlights, and was very cautious not to fry my very damaged hair. All this plus she was really sweet and fun. I will definitely be going back to her. I've lived in San Francisco for two years, have short hair, and have tried approximately 10 different stylists. Finally, I found a "keeper". I have tried many many posh salons in SF searching for the right stylist....all I have to say is I have FINALLY found the place for amazing haircuts/color. I hate to post bad reviews like this, but with the horrible haircut I got and the great reviews this salon gets, I would be remiss in not mentioning my experience. WHile the staff was nice enough, the haircut I received was nothing like what I asked for. This happens from time to time, and I find that often I"m happily surprised with a stylist's improvisation. NOt in this case. My haircut is so awful I will have to pin it back for at least a month, until it grows out. Save yourself the money and stress, go somewhere else.

I have sometimes difficult hair to cut, and having just moved to SF I've been nervous about trying new places besides my tried-and-true LA salon, but Joo gave me a great cut that really worked with my hair! Better yet, I had my boyfriend's parents in town this past weekend and had a ton of family functions to attend and I received a number of compliments on my hair! I'll definitely be back :)

That's the word I received from numerous friends at a party I attended directly after Kwandee highlited and flat ironed my hair. What a way to kickoff Friday and Springtime with a new 'do. Never expected the rave comments from my friends (male and female!) that not only was my hair beautiful but it made ME beautiful. Kwandee did a great job highliting my hair so it glowed and so did I! My previous experiences at this salon were amazing. I walked away loving my hair. This time, when I wanted to have the same thing done that was done before by the same stylist, it didn't happen. My cute cut became the cut of a socceer mom running for local political office. My amazing color became a head full of very blonde highlights that I never wanted. The blow dry was the worst I have ever had. If you go to this salon, be sure to go only for something new. Do not go back expecting to get the same thing you got before, you will be disappointed. How the exact same stylist could give me the best cut and color of my life and then, when all I want is to keep the same style and color, I got one of the worst cuts of my life is beyond me.

The salon is very intimate, and is bright and welcoming. I met with Letisha the following week, and I was booked for a color and a cut just two days later! I came in, and I was very nervous; I have frizzy hair, and i did not know how it was going to look with color. She did a meticulous job on me , all while talking and putting me at ease about the whole process. As she dried my hair, I got the chance to ask her more questions about maintaining my hair. I left with soft, shiny, FABULOUS ROCK-STAR hair, and I have been so happy with the cut and color! Thank you Letisha, I'll surely be back for more!

I have been to many expensive salons and top stylists in NYC, SanDiego, LA, and San Francisco with similar results- good, but not the answer to my problem. Problem being: I have thinning hair, and I hoped to meet a stylist who could find a great shape for me that lasts beyond the few hours after my cut. Fortunately, I finally met Berlin and had the best haircut I've ever had. Berlin listens to your needs, is creative and ingenious. Why is she the best? Because she works with you and listens to what you're envisioning for your hair, YET she also subtedly makes recommendations which are so helpful. She's a perfect combination of these two things, which I rarely find in salons i've been to. I got a hair cut from her last month, and the length and shape of my fringe was exactly what i wanted. But what I most valued was her subtle recommendation for me to go back to having straight hair (i got a perm last year), and she styled it that way and it was so much better - I wouldn't have thought of it, but Joo knew. I am really cautious about who I let touch my hair. I was really nervous about finding a new sylist and colorist when I first moved to the city. All the nervousness went away when I met Kwandee. He does amazing color and styles my hair perfectly. He gives me great tips for home care too and my hair has never looked better. I get great compliments and I am always sure to give him the credit! Came into SFO for week-end black tie dinner from Portland, OR. Came to Level 4 Salon for UPDO (first time) and was extremely happy with quality of service and overall value. 20% first time discount was really NICE... I tried Level 4 on a whim and I'm glad I did! I finally found a salon that is worth sticking around for. I have never had a haircut as perfect as the one I got at Level 4. Letisha was great, she knew exactly how to cut my thick wavy hair and she took the time to style it correctly. I used to go to Yosh for Hair but found their "snobbiness" overwhelming. Now, everytime I have a break from school, I make sure to get an appt with Letisha.

I followed the rave reviews to Kwandee at Level 4 and am very pleased. I have deceptive hair and it's usually butchered during the first cut with a new stylist. Kwandee was patient and gave me great recommendations and advice and I'm definitely pleased with the results. He actually had fun styling my hair after the cut...a first! The atmosphere is simple, but I've been to enough places with fabulous atmosphere and bad stylists and I'll stick with Kwandee's experience!

I went to this salon because of the high rating here and its convenient location. The stylist and I discussed abt how long I wanted my hair to be before she started. After abt 30 minutes, she blew dry my hair and I was shocked. This is too short and ugly! It has the bluntest cut I've ever seen... She tried to fix the problem but failed, and I ended up waiting for another stylist to finish the job. It took me two hours and I walked away with a bad haircut - the second stylist couldn't do much abt it since it's too short already...

Every co-worker asked me what happened to my hair and where I got the cut they also recommended hair extension to me......dont go to this salon unless you and your hair are both prepared for a disaster

Level 4 Salon continues, thankfully, to focus on friendly and genuine service. The staff are down to earth, and talented. Ask for Kwandee for color and highlights - a former painter, he has a natural eye for color. He has done my highlights for 6 years, and he always gives my color just the right amount of 'pop' to look fresh and fabulous without being 'over done'. Nice!

Kwandee did a fantastic job on my very difficult hair color. I had a BAD hair color that took hours to fix--Kwandee was kind and patient and my hair turned out beautiful. I later had my hair cut by Berlin (who cut my husband's hair perfect) and that turned out very well, too! I recommend both highly.

Kwandee is exceptional at hair coloring and highlighting...he definitely knows what he is doing and clearly loves what he is doing. For haircutting, Berlin, also knows what he is doing and understands different hair textures and give you the tools to work with the hair you have.

Letisha has been cutting/coloring my hair for three years, in three different salons. She is very talented and knowledgeable about how hair will behave with different cuts/styles. I was really scared to put any dye in my naturally dark blonde hair, but she highlights it in a way that looks beautiful and natural. What's most important for me is that I can trust her. The cuts are always good and she works with me to make my cut/color ideas work. Last but not least, her rates are reasonable and consistent.

All my friends in LA pay about $400 to have their color done by the same colorists that do celebrity hair. I get the same quality for so, so much less. For gorgeous, sexy color and/or highlights, Kwandee is the best. I've also seen him work wonders on very damaged hair and make incredible corrections, restoring hair to an amazing degree. He'll give you what you want, which is rare.

Kwandee has been doing my hair for 10 years. I started seeing Kwandee to correct a bad color job and damage. He makes my hair look great everytime even though my hair is hard to do. Kwandee manages to keep the red tones down and give me a great natural brown hue that I just love. When I had a color accident somewhere else, Kwandee figured out an inventive way to hide the stains without a damaging process. He gives great advice, but will let you make the decision on how you want your hair to look. You'll never walk out with something you didn't want.

I've been seeing Joo for about four years and she's the best. She cuts and colors my hair and its fabulous every time. I am a picky customer when it comes to my haircut, and I'm sure I've driven many a hairstylist crazy with my requests. But I've been seeing Tatyana for 3 month now and she puts up with me AND gives consistent, excellent cuts!

Leticia has been cutting my hair for almost 10 years. I always get wonderful comments and compliments from her cuts. Every friend I have referred to he has been extremely satisfied. I just can't imagine anyone else doing my my hair!!! Try her, you'll be hooked like I am!

I had already written a glowing review back in February for Kwandee / Level Four, but after getting my hair done again I decided I had to repost and emphasize again to the world - Kwandee is awesome. I'm getting questions every day on my bordeaux-colored hair (I have Asian hair that's difficult to color, but Kwandee brought out a deep red that was exactly what I had in mind) and I keep referring everyone to Level Four. Kwandee can work wonders - he'll get exactly the results you want, and gives great tips on keeping your hair shiny, healthy and beautiful. I'm going to Philadelphia in a couple months but am definitely returning to SF to get my hair done by Kwandee whenever I can!

I just started going to Letisha at Level 4 Salon. I heard about her from seeing someone on the street who had the most adorable short haircut. Having asked her who was her hairsylist, I was referred to Letisha. I have been twice and have not at all been disappointed. I have VERY curly hair and she is the first hairstylist that I have been to that actually knows how to handle my texture of hair. I have to believe that if she is good with my hair, she would be amazing with pretty much any hair texture. She is creative, professional and beautiful to boot. The salon atmosphere is friendly and very professional. I highly recommend it.

Until yesterday I would have said that Jenny, also from Level 4, was the best stylist I ever had. But then I met Berlin. WOW. Now I think it is a tie! I decided to stay at Level 4 after Jenny moved away because I had seen Berlin do beautiful work on others. He gave me gorgeous blonde highlights and probably the most fabulous (and different!) haircut I have ever had. He seemed to know immediately what would look great on me. Plus, I was able to completely replicate the look at home with almost no effort. Obviously, it is a great cut. Even my husband, who is clueless about hair, said "WOW!" This salon is great. Although it has the two best stylists I've EVER had (and I moved here from NYC!), the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is down-to-earth. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I just had my color(highlights) done by Kwandee for the 1st time. He got to know me and what I'm comfortable with and then made recommendations for some changes from what I had been doing for a long time. The results were fantastic. I have been following Berlin where ever he goes for 15 +/- years. I am always 100% satisfied with Berlin. I have always trusted him with my haircuts and styling needs. He treats me so good. Sometimes when I go for my haircut, I just sit down in the chair and say "just keep me in style" and I always get the perfect haircut and color. My husband always loves the way my hair looks and that is because Berlin does a wonderful job. I even get compliments from people I don't even know about the way my hair looks. I think Berlin is the best. Otherwise, I wouldn't have him be my hairstylist for so long.

I read all the reviews before I came to Level 4 Salon. Like you, I was excited, however, I was greatly disappointed at the level of service. My hair was cut by BERLIN and he was atrocious! He was absolutely rude, rough, and unprofessional. He was definitely not worth the money! He did not offer any suggestions on styles, like other professional stylist. He constantly pulled my hair while combing and drying me hair--very insensitve. He would also talk inappropriately to other people and ignore you as if you did not exist. My haircut was horrible, very unprofessionally cut and styled. I will never ever get my haircut by Berlin every again!!!!!! Definitely not worth your money or time.

Level 4 is a perfect place for hair. It is small, personal & really chic in an understated way. The ambience reflects the quality of service as well a really nice low key place to go & get your ahir done. My fave is Berlin who has beend doing my hair for years. This is definitely the place to get exactly what you want. I explained to Kwandee the color and look that I wanted to acheive, and I walked away with all of my expectations met. The salon is relaxed and bright and somewhat of a retreat. I highly recommend Level 4 to everyone.

I love what Berlin does with my hair. Everytime I walk out of the salon I feel like a new person! He always picks the perfect color for the season and cuts my hair exactly as I need him to. He also does not recommend unnecessary procedures (to make a buck) and I appreciate that. And he's kind. I consider him a friend.
I have given Berlin's name to many people. They ask, "Who does your hair? It always looks so good." Berlin's "hair" knowledge is worth the commute from Walnut Creek.
The salon is calming; no head-banging music, just peaceful music that relaxes the soul.
Thank you Level 4 for always paying close attention to the needs of your clients.

I am a picky customer when it comes to my haircut, and I'm sure I've driven many a hairstylist crazy with my requests. But I've been seeing Letisha for almost 3 years now and she puts up with me AND gives consistent, excellent cuts! She is creative, precise and talented while remaining warm and down to earth (rare in most hairdressers these days!). I always leave her chair feeling much better than when I came in. I also love the relaxed and friendly atmosphere at this salon, no attitude or pretentiousness, just good people.

I called level 4 for a colour after suffering a bad colour job at another salon the week earlier. I made and appointment with Kwandee and was thrilled with with the results!!!! He spent alot of time talking with me to understand what I was after and explain what he was going to to with my hair. The colour turned out fabulous!!!!!! The salon itself is great; modern and sleek without being too impersonal and most importantly - snooty. All the staff were really freindly and made you feel comfortable. Having just moved to San Francisco I'm glad I've found a stylist and salon I'm comfortable with. The price was really reasonable, much cheaper than what I paid for the disaster the week before. I'd recommend Kwandee and Level 4 to anyone.

I picked up the card for this salon at my coffee cart and it turned out to be a great experience. I don't have a lot of time or money to get my hair done and they took great care of me. I had a haircut and partial highlight. It was a little pricey but they gave me a first time discount which made it affordable. I've been very pleased with the color and the cut and I think it will last a while. I recommend this salon if you're looking for a good cut and don't like a lot fo frills at your salon. I tend to go for the more minimal places and this was perfect. All the services but not a lot of extraneous fluff.

The receptionist was very freindly and helpful when I called to make an appointment. On the day I arrived, I was offered tea, etc. and made to feel very welcome. The energy in the salon was very upbeat, yet relaxing. Stephens consulted with me as to what hair color would work best with my natural skin tone and eye color, I felt completely at ease. He mixed colors to create a unique shade for me and when he was finished, I had movie star hair! He's a brilliant stylist-colorist and I was very, very happy with my beautiful new hair color! My friends, family and colleagues all complemented me on my new look and I feel fabulous! I'm so happy to have found my very own hair genius and I'll be going back to see Stephens again and again! I highly recommend Level 4 Salon.

Ive been a client of Kwandees since about 1990. A couple of years ago he left town and by the time he returned and contacted me, my hair was back to its natural boring brown. It was worth the wait! I had been going to Petaluma for a stylist that does a great long haircut with layers and found that it was a treck to go there this time around. I looked in the city and found that Level 4 Salon had great reviews from citysearch and decided to make an appointment with Claudia. She was great-very personable and relatable. My cut turned out fantastic and I look forward to going back again and telling everyone I know about Level 4. I wasn't interested in the new customer discount since I think it dampers some stylists view of thier tip, but Claudia sure made my day and Thank You!

I'll tell you!!!! my HAIR!!!! What an awful experience!!!! this place is so not what the web site says it is!!! The stylist "razored" my hair and it is a mess!! I'm not sure she knew what she was doing? I feel like it has been carved like a holiday turkey!! The atmosphere is really bare and un inviting! When i was served a cup of coffee from the so called "espresso bar" it was no better than a cup of instant coffee!! I was hoping to also get a mani/pedi as offered on the web site and I was told that they do not offer those services! This place really needs to live up to what they offer!! The other reviews seem so amazing and nice but given my experience I have to ask..."what am I missing??"

I discovered Level 4 Salon through City Search. Every good thing these reviews say is true.
The staff is really friendly and welcoming, and Claudia did a wonderful job with my curly, previously unruly hair. She asked a lot of questions and then did an initial "shaping" on my dry hair, explaining cutting curly hair when it's wet and has been combed straight is unpredictable, because you don't know what the curl is going to do (makes perfect sense!) She then washed it and shaped it a bit more. I am so happy with the results. Claudia is my new regular hairdresser.

I first tried Level 4 after reading the great reviews online-- and wondered - what's the catch? Turned out, there wasn't any. I'm new to the city, and a previous salon kinda messed up my hair, thinning it out more than I liked. Steven did an amazing job of fixing this and got my hair back to looking the way I like it again! I'm definitely going back, and only here! A must try in my opinion.

My husband and I recently moved here and left behind an amazing stylist in L.A. After trying a few over-priced and mediocre places around town, we came upon Level 4 through Citysearch. We had no idea if the reviews were accurate but after two wonderful experiences with Claudia, I concur with other positive comments here. Claudia is fantastic. Not only is she a nice person, she listens which is a rare commodity. More importantly, she has the talent and skill to deliver the cut. My husband's hair still looks great, a month later, and I walked out with a style nearly identical to what I had envisioned. The salon itself is comfortable and unpretentious, but the attitude is nothing short of professional. We will both be back and are grateful to have found a place we like so much in our new town.

Berlin has always cut my hair and kept it current. It grows out and still gets compliments. He has truly made my hair my best asset. His strength as a stylist allows him to handle any of my girlfriends that I bring to him. He can transform them. I wouldn't use anyone else. Its why I drive 45 miles to see him and the staff of Level 4. They are that good.

Admittedly I've now hopped through 3 different "high profile" salons in the city, and thanks to City Search, I've finally found THE stylist of stylists. Stevens, an incredibly kind and interesting man, threw out what all other stylists had previously suggested, and performed a miracle. I've quite dark hair naturally, but through his talented techniques I now adorn the superior blonde highlights I so long sought. The price was perfect, the staff up-beat, the coffee fantastic. I recommend Stevens highly. I'll never go anywhere else!

We're all apprehensive about a new stylist, however, the moment I walked in my apprehension vanished. I immediately was welcomed and felt very comfortable. I got my hair colored and cut at this salon and I was expecially pleased with the color! Latisha did both the color and cut and she was absolutely wonderful. My hair is two toned, with light blonde on top and a darker blonde on the bottom, and the colors blend beautifully together. I'm from NYC and this was my first visit to a SF salon, and I would definitely reccommend it.

I met Stephens years ago when he was in cosmetology school. I have followed him ever since. Even though I've lived far away from him I rarely let anyone else near it. I've also turned my whole family onto him; my mom will even schedule appointments when she is in town.
He experimented with styling my hair (just the process) so that it curls perfectly. (I have this thing where only one side of my hair wants to curl.)
I also always trust his voice of reason when I show up with a new 'brilliant' idea. Eg: I wanted that Amalie look, and he sat me down and said "No, I can't do that, you'll look like a mushroom!" He's very concered for his clients, asks many questions and makes youfeel right at home.
Stephens is that mythical stylist that you will never give up for any reason.

One of the reasons I was hesitant about moving to the bay area from San Diego was because i would have to give up the best stylist and color extrodinaire I have ever known...Stephens Quarto. And now, after suffering four years of mediocre cuts and less than kind color applications...he has shimmied himself into the bay area. I welcome him and his years of experience. Get your appointments now, while the bay area is still discovering him. I recall having difficulty getting in every six weeks in San Diego! His personality is simultaneously soothing and chic. he will make you more beautiful than you came in...and teach you the techniques to do it yourself at home. A true teacher and a beautiful person, Stephens is a blessing for Level 4.

I moved here about 2 years ago, hence looking for a new salon in the city. After trying out several overpriced-undertalented spots, I fell upon Level 4. The reviews on this site are right on--Stephens is awesome! I saw that the other clients were equally as pleased as I was. Stephens really listened to what I wanted while offering his expert opinion on face framing, color, texture and design. Most importantly, he doesn't get crazy with style and color (unless you want him to) which means you will never come out looking like Marge Simpson if you didn't intend to. He says he tends to be in the conservative side when he first meets a client--something I was very happy to hear. I didn't have to worry about him lobbing off 10 inches of my hair or applying brassy freakish highlights.

These reviews are right on. Even though I didnt know exactly what I wanted when I came in, Claudia came through for me with a haircut that totally enhances all the great things about my hair while taming everything else! She was excellent at keeping me clued in during each step, so I learned three or four different ways to gussy up, depending on how much time I have.

It was easy to get an appointment (I only called two days in advance), and it's easy to get there using public transportation. I didn't have to wait. Since they're on the fourth floor, there wasn't a lot of annoying window shoppers crowding the place out. To top it all off, I got to go shopping at Union Square afterwards sporting a cool new 'do.

I couldn't be happier to find Claudia and I followed her from that other place to the nice and cozy Level4Salon.
She gave me a beautiful new cut, exactly what I wanted (from shoulder long to summerly short and cute) and took the time for details and stying tips. You couldn't feel better, surrounded by a welcoming hairstylist, who just loves her job and is exellent doing it. I got compliments wherever I went, which I can only give back to Claudia.

I had my hair cut by Claudia and I LOVE it!! It is exactly what I wanted and she understodd what I was looking for immediately. I received so many compliments and even a few weeks after the initial cut, am still receiving compliments. The atmosphere and energy in the salon is very posisitve; while sophisitcated, professional and elegant, there is nothing about pretentious about Level 4. I highly recommend Claudia and am really excited about going back for my next cut.

I had a haircut with Jenny, genius in residence at Level 4 Salon, this afternoon. I really can't say enough good things about level 4. All of the staff are very friendly, especially Jenny (who is instantly likable), and the atmosphere is entirely unprententious without some of the tension that I have felt at other salons. Every detail is taken care of to ensure that you are comfortable. My cut was excellent, well blended layers. Jenny really took care to ensure that the length was cut exactly how I like it. She also showed me a styling trick which will come in handy (after all these years, why didn't anyone else show me that?). I'm almost afraid to write this review because undoubtly there will be a day where Jenny has a waiting list.

Stephens did a great job on my lowlights -- my hair looks natural and he got out the brassy orangey tint leftover from highlights, faded color and summer sun damage. He also did an awesome job styling my hair, transforming my tight "boingy" curls to straight and silky.

Stevens did my highlights and they turned out perfect. I have had a billion shades of blonde, only 50% of the time it turns out to the color I expect. Stevens did a perfect match and was super gentle on my over-processed hair. After a year (!) of searching I finally found an stylist that has the talent and listens to me, even if I am just yapping about life in general!

made an appointment friday afternoon and was entertained the same day. my stylist was claudia and she was AWESOME. she had the know-how and the skills of the "scary" salons, but was not scary at all :) she was very friendly and dedicated to working WITH my hair type/texture (i have thick, wavy hair, and other salons just want to flatten the life out of it). she gave me a beautiful cut, and also took time to teach me how to style it, depending on how much effort i wanted to put into it. will definitely return!

Jenny is awesome! I have never been happier with my color, i took in pictures and she actually listened to what I wanted and was able to deliver, and my hair is challenging! The salon is even better because it is so NOT pretentious! Great color and a fun place to spend a few hours? It doesn't get much better than that. If you want great color, you have to go see Jenny!

Jenny was great - I walked in with a bad hair dye attempt from a drugstore. She recommended a great color and gave a fantastic cut that helped revive my drab hair! The staff was friendly and the salon very comfortable. I'd highly recommend this place.

The staff was very friendly the moment I walked in. Stephen did a really great job with my highlights and cut - very professional, pleasant, and efficient. The price was also very reasonable. I will definitely go back and I highly recommend the salon.

Up to the day I met Berlin, I absolutely hated my naturally curly hair. Well, a couple hours with him just did the trick. Not only he showed me how to style my hair in 5 minutes, needless to say I love my curlsnow. He also gave me awesome highlights!
I have found exactly what I've been looking for. Great service, talented stylists and fair pricing. I'm definetely coming back!

I have never taken the time to write a review before - but, Berlin and Level 4 truly deserve it! Berlin gave me the best highlights I've had in YEARS. Due to years of coloring my hair is incredibly overprocessed and I am never satisifed with the results. But Berlin knew exactly what I wanted and the results were FANTASTIC. I highly recommend this place (and as a bonus the prices are very reasonable).

I decided to give Level 4 a try since my stylist was out of town and I needed to get highlights before my trip down south. Well, Stephens did not disappoint! He gave a thorough consultation before doing anything to my hair - he knew exactly what he was talking about. He definitely takes time with your hair. He also gave a lot of good hair advice. Added bonus - he does a fantastic job styling - I looked like I came out of there with a new haircut too!

I am new to the city and decided to try out the Level 4 Salon. I was nervous at first, but as soon as I met with my stylist, Stephens, I was confident that he knew what he was doing. And I was right! Stephens is new to San Francisco, but not new to cutting hair. He is very experienced and talented. Stephens cut and styled my hair exactly the way I wanted it to look. I would highly recommend you go see Stephens. He is nice and made me feel comfortable the entire time. He gives a great cut and really blow drys and styles your hair well. It is worth it to go in just for the blow out! The price is a great deal for a talented stylist!

I went to this salon because of the great ratings, but the $75 haircut just wasn't worth it at all (I was never even asked how I wanted my bangs cut and had to go home and do them myself!) and my highlights werent brought up enough (my hair doesn't have much contrast at all) and after a few weeks I feel like my hair already needs to be done again. This salon really just wasn't worth it, I hate to say, and I ended up spending too much money that I feel was pretty much wasted.

Ok, I read the reviews first, saw the rating and called. Always a little hesitate to try a new salon (actually "the" new stylist) but the high rating was encouraging. LOVED the people! I had Stephens, who just started working at Level 4 Salon and felt that we had been separated at birth we had so much to talk about and he (and the other stylists) came up with a plan to FIX what someone else had just BLEACHED. Their enthusiasm with the results were marvelous. I felt like I'd just spent time with my closest friends! They suggested I write a review, but I already had it in my mind to do so ... if and when it was positive! Definitely a place to go ... not pretentious at all! Thanks for continuing the "Sharon Stone" look alike for me!

My hair really needed work ~ good cut, highlights ~ I needed help! The salon is modern and minimal and at the same time very comfortable. Jenny listened to the problems I was having and suggested practical solutions. My cut and highlights are fantastic! Jenny and the other stylists were very friendly and I enjoyed the time I spent there. Worth every penny! They have earned another loyal customer.

after reading reviews for several high rated salon i decided to go with level 4. i scheduled an appt with stephen, the newest member at level 4. i brought in a few pictures of what i kind of wanted and he explained how each would look and how much maintenance would be required, which helped because i don't want to spend too much time on my hair. stephen was very nice and easy to talk to making the experience of chopping off 4 inches a lot easier. i love my new cut and despite having a student budget, i plan to go back. so if you're thinking about getting your hair cut here, you should call and schedule an appt with stephen before he builds up his client list.

First of all, she has been in the business for a long time and truly understands both HAIR and COLOR!

My recent visit to San Francisco yielded the most beautiful hair color from Level 4 Salon, and specifically from the talented hands of Berlin Fisher. He took the time to talk to a complete stranger who just walked in looking for what she has never had...great color, no, superb color, no, perfect color!!!!! Berlin taught me to completely rethink my hair and how I condition and style it. How I wish he could have also cut my hair, and now, what do I do without him back here in Kentucky! Everyone at the salon was friendly and helpful, and completely devoid of the Big City attitude that is tiring and intimidating. My successful result was due in part to City Search's comments and feedback. I am now enjoying the best hair of my life, and I thank Berlin each morning for this awesome color. BRAVO.

My experience at Level 4 Salon was fabulous. I have had my hair cut by two of their senior stylists and each haircut was superb. I recieved numerous compliments both times. The staff at Level 4 Salon are upbeat and very attentive. It is the first salon I have been to, where they actually run on time! Imagine that! All of the stylists have there unique and individual flair . It is obvious that they are of the highest caliber. I recommend them to everyone I know. My recommendation: treat yourself to the hair talents found at Level 4 Salon!

A few days ago in a fit of desperation after having my hair butchered at another salon, I decided that I was going to cut it into a bob and just end the misery. I found Level 4 here on Citysearch and saw the reviews were good, so I made an appointment with Jenny.
Jenny was such a sweetheart. She really listened to me and sensed that I didn't really want to cut my hair short. Well, because Jenny is a genius with a pair of scissors, she was able to correct what had been done to my hair taking just a little bit off the length.
So, now I have a foxy new do and my hair and I are finally at peace with each other. Thank you Jenny!

My first experience at Level 4 was amazing & will keep me coming back. Jenny was wonderful, she listened to my requests and was sure ask me questions about my hair and how I like to wear it. I have been most impressed with Level 4 Salon. First of all, Susan Travers is without a doubt the best hairdresser I have ever been to (and I've been to many over the years). She always takes in to account my feedback about how I want my hair cut or colored, but she has such a good eye for design and what looks good for the individual person, that I usually defer to her. She is great with mixing color and matching to your individual skin tone. All the staff there are very nice. They always offer you a beverage when you arrive, Vicki does great shampoo's and head massages and the salon looks like an art gallery. Hands down the best salon ever!!!!!!!! You will love them too I'm sure!

Susan is an artist-her skills as a stylist and a colorist are awesome. I love my hair Ive been going to Susan for 8 years and when Im looking for something new & different her recommendations are always on the mark. Susan is always current with the latest styles, colors and products. I trust Susan immensely. I would be lost if Susan were to retire.

The new Salon is comfortable, hip without pretensions and tastefully decorated with local art.
