Formerly known as Katacombs, Amp Rock Lounge is your Newest rock themed Chicago Lounge open until 4am. With no cover on Thursdays and Sundays and no more than $10 on Friday and Saturday, Amp Rock offers cheap specials on beer cans and frozen glasses shots. Located under a pizza parlor in the Lincon Park area, Amp Rock is covered in black walls with lyrics from different rock tunes in white, murals of rocks greatest and 2 new flat screen tv's. Bar area is surrounded with lime-green faux snakeskin barstools, black leather couches and drum cocktail tables. With more than 20k rock songs coming from an ipod, why rock anywhere else?

In ShortThere's a subterranean feel to this dark, lower-level hangout, which pulses with multi-generational, iPod-culled rock. Images of music icons and notable lyrics are splashed on walls. Furthering the theme, emptied-out amps display liquor bottles, and drums serve as tables. Hardcore shots like Jaeger and Jack are tipped back from snakeskin barstools and black leather sofas. Otherwise, beer is the beverage of choice. As for the attire, it's graphic tees for guys; low-cut tops for girls; and designer denim for all.

I heard about this place in the paper and hosted my friends bachelor party there. The staff was great and management was overly accomodating of our needs. It is a great place for guys to hang out and get away from catty chics!
