Ratings_icons Rendezvous Restaurant Has Great Frites!

Go for the frites. I order them extra crispy with a side of dijon. They're served piping hot inside a cone of faux newsprint within a spiraling wire cone shaped holder. There's no 'old oil' aftertaste - just the perfect flavor & texture of crispy, freshly fried potatoes, julienned just right, with a little salt! Service has improved considerably, by the way. . . . at least for the most part. There are some attentive waiters, though none seem particularly adept at first class service. Many of the waiters still don't speak French - or understand what I'm ordering from the menu if I pronounce it with my native French accent. I have a huge girl crush on the extra cute & curvy Irish bartender. (Her name is very Irish and sounds sort of like Angel.)

Ratings_icons Great People Watching Spot, Fun Atmosphere, Good Seafood

Great people watching spot from the teeniest of round tables set with chairs close together on one side for the best possible people watching as seems typical in Paris. Sure, waiters struggle with their French - even going so far as to incorrectly 'correct' my wife's pronunciation of a menu item (my wife spent the first 8 years of her life in Paris). And the waiters need to be able to describe ingredients in the dishes they serve - and especially to let diners know when the chef is preparing a traditional French dish in a very different manner than is traditional. But the chicken dish had the juiciest, most tender boneless chicken breast I can recall having been served anywhere. And the sole in the sole Meuniere was cooked perfectly - slightly crisped around the edges, very moist & flaky inside. The 'Meuniere' toppings were a departure from the traditional preparation and neither the server, nor, she said could the 'chef', identify certain ingredients in the mixture atop the sole. Very tasty nonetheless. We'll return once the staff has had time to settle in.
