Dr. Jeff is a true care giver. He is not interested in simply finding a solution to remedy temporal pains, but instead most interested in figuring out, with his patient's input, what is causing them, both externally and internally so as to relieve current issues AND mitigate further degeneration. I've led and active life, not always picked routes most conducive to long-term health (more so to short term fun), but as I age, Dr. Jeff has shown serious interest in trying to help me attain a realistic optimal level of health. I imagine he could just adjust me and get me prepared for the next tennis match, and I'd come see him each and every week for the rest of my life; however, I can tell that he'd like to see me accomplish a healthier back on my own as much as I would. He goes to great lengths to make sure that I understand that my back pain isn't being caused by my back, but instead many other aspects of my life. In doing so, he demonstrates to me an eagerness to progress professionally that goes far beyond graduating school, starting a practice, and becoming economically successful. I appreciate that he does not measure success by the number of appointments he sets, but by the progress and opinions of his patients and contemporaries. I am confident that he is very knowledgeable in what he speaks of, and more importantly, I am confident that he is always dedicated to knowing even more, being even better prepared to encounter the health issues I have yet to discover in myself. I had seen two primary care physicians and multiple orthopedics, all of which gave me standard answers of exercise, stretch, rehab, but none of them made me understand why this was so. What motivation did I ever have for not assuming that they were just a big network of insurance abusers trading referral fees? Dr. Jeff helped me to understand the reasons my back is in the condition it is in. With that knowledge I'm able feel wise to my own situation and do something about it. Due to the understanding, I actually have motivation for the exercise and stretching, because it physically makes sense that it will accomplish what I need to. For me, comprehension has to come before motivation, and Dr. Jeff was able to not only realize that need, but appreciate and fulfill it. It's too bad Dr. Jeff can't treat everything. :)
