1 Stars: Trying to Book a party for you kid?? (by Jill B.)

Don't do it here, I am in total disbelief. You would think that they would have some kind of party pack. I can do a group rate for 8.00 unlimited, but then you can't have cake or ice cream. If I do one of their party where only 7 kids can come and then you buy the extras, you can have a cake by them. This place is not intended for parties unless you want to go by their time frames. A skate party can only be done monday, wednesday or friday before 6 pm. I live an hour away, kids get out of school at 3:00 by the time you get there and set up, it's time to leave. This is not a convienent place for parties. So now I am on the look again for a place to have a party.

1 Stars: This is the email I sent directly to Carmike Cinemas Management (by Nick R.)

Myself, my wife, my sister, my brother-in-law, and my 3 nieces were recently in the Hollywood Connection in Columbus, GA (06-14-08). We were standing in line at the bumper cars and a lady came out of the ladies restroom (which is directly beside the bumber cars) and said that a child had fallen in the restroom, hit his head and he and his mother needed help. She asked the bumper cars attendant to get a manager. The attendant then first got all the kids on the bumper cars ride (several did not get buckled in with the safety belt), started the ride, and then walked off very slowly to get a manager. She came back, bypassed the child who was now out of the bathroom with his mother, and went back to the ride. The childs mother asked if a manager was coming and the girl did not respond just walked over to the girl attending the ferris wheel and began talking. The child and mother eventually walked around trying to find and manager themselves. While they were gone the bumper car attendant, the ferris wheel attendant and a guy with a mop came over to the bathroom area (I did not get all of the employees names but it was around 9:45-10pm 06-14-08 so that sould help narrow it down based on where they were stationed at). We were still standing there and so were other customers. All three of them began to make jokes about the accident and how upset the mother was. My sister asked them to stop laughing about it. The ferris wheel attendant told her that they were doing nothing wrong because the lady and child had already walked off and if she didnt like it she could get a manager. At that point I went and found the lady, who had still not been able to find a manager, and informed her of what was going on behind her back. Myself and the lady finally found someone to take a report of the accident but Im not sure if she was a manager or not. She seemed like she was only there to take a report and no clue what other actions to take. No one other that line level employees ever showed up to view the site of the accident. I believe this was handled very un-professionally. I would think that a company as big as Carmike Cinemas and especially Hollywood Connection where tons of kids come daily would have some type of plan in place. Instead everyone seemed not only like they had no clue what to do, but like they cared less about the whole situation and we were bothering them by asking for help. Im not sure what will come of this, but that was one of the worst cases of lack of training, lack of respect, and lack of employee selection that I have ever seen. They say when some one has a good experience some where they tell 1 person and if they have a bad one they tell everyone they know, I will tell everyone.

5 Stars: Xanadu Skate Center (by Niki R.)

My name is Niki Rivers and I encourage children and adults of all ages to have fun skating at Hollywood Connections!
I am a devoted customer of Hollywood Connection's Xanadu Skate Center and I am inviting everyone to come out to the skate center and have fun! I have been going there since I was a little girl at the age 5. I am now 14 going on 15 and still continue to go every week.
I am always there on Saturdays because for me and my friends it is the best day to go. I am one of the advanced skaters. We are really good friends with most of the workers including the floor guards, the DJ, and security.* For many who may not know what an advanced skater is it is very simple. We can skate very well forwards, backwards, and really fast! We love to skate a lot and if you see any of us do not be afraid to say "hi"!
We enjoy big crowds of people but there is always that time during where we have "Specials." These include Age Skate, Couple/Backward Skate, the occasional Glow Stick Skate, and my personal favorite Advanced Skate. There is only one problem we have with this-little kids on the floor. When the DJ says "Skate at your own risk he means it for the safety of you and the advanced skaters do not get on the floor if you are inexperienced, please. Parents we do not want any injuries to occur. But besides that we have lots of fun and please stop to ask questions.
If you are looking for me I am probably wearing pajama pants. If you are still not sure just ask one of the other advanced skaters and they will help you.
We have fun when you have fun but if you don't come there's no fun! The cost is $2.00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On any other day the price is $5.00. So please come out an enjoy a good skate at Xanadu Skate Center!!! Thank You!
*if you are looking for one of the advanced skaters please do not ask the employees. we do not want to take the time from them doing their job.

2 Stars: GREAT!!! BUT (by Terry M.)

Hollywood Connection is a great place for kids and adults alike. The downside is that the games and rides work sometimes. During the Thanksgiving holiday they only had one employee manning two rides and all of the games that required coins were turned off. When asked why, I was told that they ran out of coins. I had already purchased a $20 card and didn't use it but for 1 train ride. This is not the first time that I have taken my grand-kids and walked away disappointed. We will think twice before going again.

5 Stars: Hollywood Connection (by sherry (K) m.)

This is one of my grandson's favorite places in Columbus. We love taking him there because their is so many different activity's to do. Something for the whole family a video game room, miniature golf course, roller skate rink, rides for small children, a restaurant if you have to eat there. And a cinema for all. You can buy a point card the more you spend the more free points you get. And a discount for early movies..A great way to spend a day .

3 Stars: Local family fun spot (by Eric C.)

At Hollywood Connection you'll find a roller skating rink, rides for young children, video games, miniture golf, restaurant, and cinema. We like the variety of video games and our children really like the choo choo train ride. The staff in the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Most of them are quite young and have no idea of what quality customer service is supposed to be like...and I doubt they know that it's their job to provide it. Still, Hollywood Connection is a good local family spot. Expect large crowds whenever school is out.

PROS: Lots to do.....see a movie, eat, play games, etc.
CONS: large crowds on weekends and when school is out.
