"Our goal is to keep our theme local by serving only the finest quality locally sourced food and beverages as well as creating a neighborhood hang out that looks and feels more authentic. In response to our neighborhood, we recently added a selection of sweet, savory and breakfast crepes to our menu. We selected the name "The Creamery" because of our close ties to Gilt Edge Creamery who occupied the building for almost a half a century and moved to the Bay Shore in December, Gilt Edge supply all the dairy to The Creamery. Almost all of the interior and exterior wood is recycled, much of it from the original creamery. The art work is all from local artists and is available for sale. Stay tuned as we expand our menu based on your feedback and we are also hoping to add some local Vinoa's very soon!

At once airy, modern and log-cabin rustic, this SoMa/Mission Bay coffeehouse provides a quaint little oasis at a cross-section of the city desperately in need of quality coffee. Office buildings and live/work spaces pepper the surrounding streets, but the cafe's real traffic may come from, well, traffic--the Caltrain station is a mere block away, freeway on-ramps are nearby and some of the city's busiest bus lines (including the hellish 30 and 45 routes) stop just across the street. Most of the patrons are only interested in a quick coffee--drip and espresso both come from SF cult favorite Ritual Roasters--on the run, but there's plenty of space both inside and out to sit and stay awhile. Should you care for something sweet with your expertly prepared double capp, pastries like lemon bars, scones and other quality goodies are made by Sweet Sue's in Brisbane.

Key Points

  • Ritual Coffee
  • Breakfast And Lunch
  • Crapes & more to come

The Inside Scoop

  1. The Extras - It's all in the details: soy milk is free at the condiment bar, and they've also go simple syrup to add in place of sugar to cold drinks.
  2. Fun Fact - The name comes from the well-known, on-site Gilt Edge Creamery (an actual, you know, milk distributor).
  3. Know Before You Go - A small here is more of a Euro-sized small--better suited for a single espresso drink, but not your typical small coffee size.
