Open daily for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.
Great food and very reasonable prices. The wait staff has been slow every time I've been there... But worth the wait if you have time. The Chorizo Ravioli is particularly tasty.

I have been there now 5 times in one month and each time the food and service have been excellent. Thus far I've ordered the shrimp fajitas, chile verde and the carnitas burrito. The flavor and texture are excellent! The service is fabulous: incredibly friendly and attuned to your needs. Dave, the chef, perfected many of his recipes while living in Mexico. The price is right, too! The carrot cake is the best I have ever tasted...smooth and moist, the icing just melts in your mouth... a real treat!!

My first visit I met some of my old friends there and found the food to be awesome! As far as drinks go, I had a jalapeno martini that they make and it was incredible. Not to spicy but just right! This place has a great ambiance with authentic old world charm in-fused with a classy but casual atmosphere. The service was outstanding as well!
My second visit, I took my girlfriend there on our anniversary and they treated us like royalty! The food again was second to none! I would recommend the tres-enchiladas. Awesome! The dessert was incredible as well.
My third... as soon as I can get there!!!
Highly recommended!!!!
Pros: The food and the drink selection was awsome!!!!
Cons: I don't live next door!
My friends recommended that my husband and I try Matador Cantina so we did and the food was amazing! We went to Sunday brunch. I really enjoyed the Matador omlette which was so tasty and my husband had the Breakfast burrito which was just as good. We also had the best bloody marys!! I heard the pancakes are made from scratch, I think I will try them next time around.
What isnt to love about Matador Cantina? The food, the service and the ambience was excellent. I highly reccommend this restaurant. Take my word for it and experience a good time at Matador Cantina.
Pros: Best Drink Selection in Town
I went to the Matador Cantina for dinner after reading the great review they received in the OC Register. I wasn't expecting much more than a decent dinner in Down Town Fullerton.
However, I was thoroughly impressed. The ambiance was fantastic and the service was friendly and professional.
The food tasted fresh and homemade. I had the tres enchiladas and they were great. For dessert I had the homemade carrot cake and it was probably the best i have ever had. The Matador offered a unique spin to traditional mexican cuisine.
Did I mention the drink menu.. They offer fresh squeezed cocktails to order.. Probably one of the overall best food experiences i have had in Fullerton.
Pros: Great Enchiladas and Guacamole & Amazing Drink Menu!
Cons: Not Many
After visiting the Matador Cantina for the first time since its re-opening , I can definitely say there is finally a place for great Mexican food in Fullerton. The inviting atmosphere was amazing and my boyfriend loved the fact that he could watch sports on several new plasma screen TVs. We tried the specialty drinks and loved the Matador Margaritas!! The new menu has so many traditional and new Mexican food items. I ordered the Chorizo ravioli in a cilantro cream sauce and couldn?t believe how rich and delicious the flavor was. He had the Shrimp Diablo and loved it, the seasoning and spices were perfect. There is nowhere else to get gourmet cuisine for such reasonable prices and the service was great as well. We will definitely be back soon!
