McSpadden's Automotive

I have been going to McSpadden's for about 3 years and have never had a problem. They are honest, friendly and willing to take the time to explain how things work. If they aren't too busy, they will even take you back in the shop and show you the details of what they fixed.

Most importantly, on several occasions, they have had the chance to overcharge me and didn't. Once, my Honda CRV broke down driving to town and I took it to Howdy Honda to get fixed. Honda told me that the head gasket was blown and gave me a repair estimate in the thousands. They also pushed real hard for me to trade in the car for almost nothing and buy a new one. I was skeptical, so I took it to McSpaddens and they showed me that all that happened was that a nail on the road flew into my radiator and caused me to over heat. They replaced the radiator and the problem was fixed.

I've had a few similar situations where other shops gave me pricey repair estimates and McSpaddens showed me that the other shops were not really fixing the real problem. They are very knowledgeable and seem very honest.

FYI: The parts they use are from the dealer, so they may not be the cheapest, but they do it right so you don't have to have it done again

Every time I have taken my vehicle in they have always been honest about problems and has done the work in a timely fashion. Brandon provides great customer service which has made us a repeat customer.

They inspected my car. They were very fast. It need a minor repair. They reinspected - again really fast. Nice people.

As a woman having to go into an auto repair shop I think we all feel a little somewhat intimidated. These guys were very nice and went out of there way to accomodate me. Also they did the work really fast and that was it... I was on my way. They did a very good job! I will definitly be going back because of the excellent service and my car is 10 years old!

I've taken my car to McSpadden's three times now for various repairs, and have found the staff to be consistently friendly, honest, and helpful. They really tried to work with my budget on my last trip, and they have truly excellent customer service.

I've been bringing my car here for two years, since I moved to Austin. They have always been friendly and honest, and quick. My dad was my previous mechanic and hasn't had a problem with anything they've told me yet.

I first came in contact with McSpadden's in regard to my air conditioner not working. I had taken my car to two other places. Their quotes were $1300.00 and 900.00. McSpadden's fixed it for 160.00. They are honest! I will never take my car anywhere else.
I recommend them to all my friends.

I just started working on S. Congress recently and noticed McSpadden's sign on my way to work which read "if you don't have an honest auto repair shop, give us a try". Then I had a problem with my car, and thought of them first. They were very helpful, prompt and reasonable.

I think McSpadden's Automotive is one of the few shops in town that understands long term thinking. If you are honest and treat the customer respectfully then they will return. I have been using McSpadden's for many years now and have always felt they understood this concept and treated me appropriately. It is a simple idea but one very few practice. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a mechanic they can trust.

We were headed out of town for a long road trip - our car started having problems the day before we were scheduled to leave. I called the mechanics we've used in the past and they were completely booked up. I was paniced. Then I remembered Susie on 102.3 FM, The River, said that's where she took her vehicles and was very happy with them. So I gave them a call - and they said no problem bring it on in. Whew! We left the next day for our road trip as scheduled without a hitch. They saved the day! We had a great family vacation. They've definiately got my vote for life.

We have been working wtih McSpaddens for a number of years and they have helped us with at least six vehicles over the years.

Issues where it no longer made sense to repair a vehicle and they told us so.

Plus we have had other issues that were complicated, but they were able to fix them too.

They also do maintenance work for us.

We have had our cars' serviced with McSpaddens since 2001. One of the the primary reasons that I have been going back to McSpaddens is that they have always had my car ready when they have promised. Additionally they are courteous, professional and honest when evaluating the repairs that are necessary as well as in rectifying any problems that may recur. Raymond, the owner and Brandon (office manager) are both extremely friendly and have always done their best to ensure we are always satisfied with the work done on our vehicles.I would recommend McSpadens to anyone looking for honest, prompt and reliable service.

I recently took my 9 year old vehicle in for what I knew was going to be a big dollar repair. I must say I was nervous but having been to McSpadden's before I knew that they would treat me right.
I ask that they check over some additional items and they did it with no 'over selling'. They were courteous enough to take me back home & pick me up when the repair was done. I'll be back for the rest of my repairs & for any additional vehicle maintenance.

The staff at McSpadden's is excellent. Always professional and friendly. The facility is very clean, including the very nice waiting room. A definite plus for the ladies who are needing car service.

If your new to Austin or just haven't found a good mechanic, McSpaddens is the place. Great people, great mechanics and great service. These people are professional and helpful from the initial greeting to the completion of work. No hidden charges, no "sales pitch", just good honest advice when you need it. I wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere else!

Was referred here when new to town and have received excellent, friendly service each and every time. Feel comfortable and confidant that am not being take advantage of. The reason(s) for each repair is explained and approval requested prior to any work. No complaints on repairs to date.

I heard about this shop from a co-worker and decided to give them a try when the brakes went out on my truck. The truck is a 2001 in need of many repairs. They prioritized what needed to be repaired and quoted a very reasonable price. The repairs were made in a timely manner and is now running GREAT. Within a week my wife?s vehicle needed service and I didn?t hesitate to return to McSpadden?s. The mechanics took the time to explain to me about all the repairs that were needed and helped to prioritize what should be done now and what could wait. I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend this company to anyone.

I've taken my daughter's car there and have sent my sister and brother to them. This week I took my car. We've all been totally satisfied with each of our visits. The place is clean, the people are friendly, and the service is great.

I've lived in Austin 20+ years and have used quite a few mechanics/dealerships in town and I can honestly say that McSpadden's is second to none.
They're conveniently located in South Austin, and happen to be across the street from a rental car business. If you're looking for a good mechanic give these guys a try. You won't be disappointed.

I had access to my own personal mechanic, my father, for more than a decade until I moved away from home. I've never found a replacement that I really trusted until I started going to McSpadden's a couple of years ago. I'm happy to continue using this shop for inspections and repairs, and I refer all my south Austin friends to them.

Everyone was friendly and attentive when I went today to have my emissions inspection done and added an oil change onto the service. Price was fair, I was in and out of there in less time it would take to go grocery shopping (for 2!). Gave me good info on getting through the state registration process (from out of state). McSpadden's will definitely be my regular mechanic now that I've moved to Austin.

McSpadden's has kept my 11 year old truck running great. I started with them shortly after they opened up the 4241 location. One of the owners, Raymond, (I haven't met Mrs. McSpadden) has always been friendly and sincere in his conversations with me. The current service writer, Brandon is as sincere and friendly as Raymond, outperforming by far all previous writers. They stand by their warranties, too. I highly recommend this repair facility and intend to continue doing business with them.

It is great to have found an auto service shop that offers trustworthy service--especially for those who don't know cars. I have never had a problem with the service and they have always been responsive to my questions and concerns about my car's performance. They keep good records which they copy for me as I need them and which preserves a good history of my car's status.

I'm a relatively new customer to McSpadden's and my experience has been excellent thus far. after 10+ years with a previous mechanic, I was looking for a new mechanic closer to home that could deliver the same family owned attention and quality work that I had been recieving for so long. after much research, McSpadden's came highly recommended and I have yet to disapointed. The customer service is absolutely superb (even better than my previous mechanic) and the work is quick and high quality.

I worked with Raymond & his wife for many years so I know the quality work that they do. I've been taking my vehicles there for as long as he's had his shop: both a late model & an 18-year old truck. Both are running fabulously; he replaced the A/C system in the older vehicle & it's humming along great. Even if I didn't know him & Brandon personally, as a single woman I feel safe knowing that they've taken care of me & I'll get where I'm going safely. Thank you!

I became a customer in 2003. During this period I have owned a Nissan, Toyota and Audi which have all been service by McSpadden's. Their work has been excellent. They are upfront in telling you what needs to be done and the cost before any work is done. In some cases they even gave me options on what I might want done immediately and what might be put off until later, that would not constitute a hazardous driving situation. From state inspection to alignment, brakes and transmission, they have kept all my cars in perfect running order. Everyone I have dealt with have always been really nice and understanding. Not like the cold receptions you get from franchises and other garages where you feel your part of an assembly line.

I've had my 1996 GMC Jimmy serviced at McSpadden's for several years, everything from routine work to more expensive repairs. Over that time, I've come to appreciate their "get it right the first time" approach to service. The've also demonstrated the highest level of integrity and a friendly approach to customer service. I can sincerely say that they've earned my trust and continued business.
