Welcome to Le Figaro Cafe, the quintessential Greenwich Village Sidewalk Cafe, located in the heart of the west village on Bleecker St. We have been a staple in New York's Greenwich village for over 25 years serving the finest in Italian cuisine at a reasonable price. Our brunch specials are renowned by locals for their flavor and price. Our new location, right down the block from our previous incarnation, attracts a diverse and vibrant crowd and has received critical acclaim from a bevy of local and national publications, including New York Magazine, Time Out and Shecky's. The outdoor garden patio features a fish pond and waterfall which is perfect if you want a relaxed and romantic atmosphere. Or if you prefer a more lively surrounding enjoy our sidewalk seating to watch the hustle and bustle of the NYC's west village.
I went on a double date here a couple of nights ago. We were walking by and were excited to see that Figaro re-opened at this new location. The garden in the back is beautiful. Such a great atmosphere for dining. The other couple we were with are from out of town so they initially wanted to sit in front for the people watching but they ended up really enjoying the garden. The only complaint I have is that my order got mixed up and I was brought something different. The server was very apologetic and offered to correct right away but I was hungry and decided to go with what she brought me which I ended up loving. The appetizers we went with- mini pizza and calamari- were delicious!!
We're definitely going back with more friends for brunch this weekend.
Pros: food, waterfall garden
Cons: mixed up order

A couple friends and I were back in the Village last weekend and we saw that Figaro reopened at a different location and new management. Figured, it was worth a try... Glad we did! The servers were attentive and cool. I had a burger and shared a bunch of appetizers, all hit-the-spot. We ended up ordering a couple more rounds after dinner to enjoy the atmosphere - their waterfall garden definitely gave off an awesome feel. Perfect start to a night out. Incidentally, a nice date scene too.
Pros: Affordable, Fun, Drinks, Garden, People

Went there on a lazy evening, unsure of what we wanted. The patio and the 3 course special enticed us in.
The atmosphere was nice, though poorly placed rocks made the waterfall more splashy than soothing.
The serving staff were great, very pleasant and easy. I'm not sure about the management though - i think i heard one of the serving staff get told off because we moved to the bar for out dessert.
The generally bland food was salted all to hell.
I'd say generally one to avoid if you know of better places around.
Pros: Nice patio garden
Cons: The cooks seem to know only one spice: SALT

The service is friendly at this Greenwich Village Italian Restaurant however the food is just all right. We ordered the chicken with vegetables that were a little dry. The steak salad that we ordered was undercooked. The place looks pretty however we would most likely not return.
Pros: Service
Cons: Food

My friend and I literally tripped across this place after a day of shopping. We sat outside and enjoyed a wonderful spring afternoon along with some appetizers and amazing wine. Our waitress was beyond pleasant and made sure we could sit back relax and enjoy our surroundings....which by the way is beautiful if you sit out back in their rock patio area! Although it was daylight we both agreed Cascata Cafe would be a great place for a date or night out with friends.
Pros: Romanic at Night, Relaxing by day, Patio
Cons: Didn't find any

The only thing that topped our $20 three course dinner was the beautiful garden. I will certainly be back next time I go back to New York. The table outside in the corner is worth the wait. Stay classy.

A Great Place in the heart of the West Village!
My Friends and I went into Cascata because of the heated garden, sitting outside in a beautiful setting(huge fountain/rock garden) sipping on wine
when it was 35 outside was glorious. The food was
excellent,big salads,good pasta, and excellent
homemade desserts. The service was very friendly.
We all had a great time. Sitting in a such a nice place you would think it would be on the expensive side. When the check arrived it was so little that we decided to stay a while and ordered some more wine.CHARMING!
Pros: Garden, Price, Food

Had some of the friendliest, funniest servers I've ever had. Their entertainment alone was worth the price of the entree. The garden is beautiful and certainly the site of my mext date. Food is priced very reasonably. Sometimes the front is a little chaotic, but once seated, the experience was incredible at a fraction of the cost i expected to pay. Drink menu looked very interesting, can't wait to try the willini next visit.
Pros: servers, price, menu

Its not often that I spend the time to go back to these pages and write a review but this place was beautiful. Considering the ambiance and food I couldn't believe how reasonable my bill was. If youre in the west village or planning on going, make sure to leave enough time to catch some dinner at this restaurant.
Pros: Outdoor Garden, Great decor

my girlfriends and i stopped by on a thursday night and had a great time. food was good, but the drinks were the best part. some of the friendlier waiters/bartender i've had in nyc. i'll definitely be back, especially when the weather's nicer.
Pros: value, service

From the looks of this place's website one would expect a trendy New York Hotspot. Quite the opposite- it's a Bleeker street tourist trap with sloppy service and below average food. Their drink list is overpriced and the fish is far from fresh. If you want a great Italian place head to Da Silvano around the corner.
Pros: inexpensive, convenient location
Cons: , rushed service, cocky management

right down the street from another favorite of mine, cafe figaro, cascata is a great place to go for drinks or dinner. staff is very friendly, and the prix fixe is a great deal. highly recommended in the summer, when you can sit in the backyard with the waterfall.
Pros: good drinks, value

I have enjoyed my several dining experiences at Cascata. In fact, it is my favorite restaraunt discovery in the last six months! I highly recommend this as a drink or destination spot. Especially try the Southern Dogg.
Pros: affordable, tasty treats

My first time to Cascata was this summer to enjoy the gorgeous back garden. What brought me back was the great inexpensive food, fantastic drinks, and sexy waitstaff/bartender. Ladies, dress-up and head over!!!
Pros: inexpensive, hot staff, great drinks
