La Calle Asadero Mexicano, located in downtown Oakland, is a new taqueria from the owners of Tamarindo. "La Calle" translates to the street and "Asadero" is a place where all things are cooked on the grill. The menu offers la calle such as burritos, tacos, elote and tortas. There are four different meat options and many vegetarian options to chose from. The interior is bright, colorful with hand-built furniture. La Calle represents the epitomy of the first taqueria- back before the taste of food was drowned out with rice and sour cream. Patrons can taste the quality of the food- burritos with slow cooked meat, salsa and beans.
