In Short
If you like fondue with your football, this upscale sports bar (formerly occupied by the restaurant Dip) is the perfect spot to cheer on your team. A gigantic glass mirror serves as the backdrop against a handcrafted oak bar. Whether munching on wings, fries and sliders at one of the low leather banquettes or the high-top bar tables, with 25 HD-TVs you're pretty much guaranteed optimal viewing. A daily happy hour that offers both champagne and PBR specials is what sets The Hill apart from its neighborhood counterparts.

Hits: This is the destination for guys who love sports and the women they date. There's a little something for almost everyone here.

Misses: Although The Hill dubs itself a sports bar, the vibe is anything but masculine. Don't be surprised to find "Grey's Anatomy" playing during the off-season.

Key Points

  • Trivia & Karaoke Nights
  • Sidewalk Seating
  • Private Parties & Events

The Inside Scoop

  1. What to Drink - In order to seal the deal, order your girl a Huckleberry Lemonade for $12 (44 N Huckleberry Vodka and pink lemonade served over ice).
  2. The Extras - Planning your 24th birthday? For private parties, reserve space in the upstairs lounge.
  3. Food Served - Even the wings, served with hunks of crumbled blue cheese, take the standard bar fare up a notch.

Great place to unwind after work!

by NYCgirl09

I don't usually write reviews for places, but I had such a good experience last week so I figured I might as well! So my friends and I stumbled upon The Hill as we were walking looking for a place to relax after work. The outside looked inviting so we went it. To our suprise, the inside vibe was awesome ( the decor was pretty and the people inside were not bad looking either) Our waitress was so sweet, and the drinks were excellent! We tried the turkey burger sliders and the nachos. Both were suprisingly delicious. All in all we had a lot of fun that night, and all because we happen to stumble into the right place at the right time! We will definately come back again soon.

Pros: great food and drinks

Hill-Yeah

by Hillguy

I "climbed on up" the Hill one night and was so glad I did. The turkey burgers were out of this world and the tater tots took me back. Oh, how I miss those days. The staff was super duper friendly and made me feel right at home. I even got to speak to Mike, who is the manager/owner! He was super nice and quick with a joke, you might say he was Hill-larious!! Anyway, I can't wait to go back and "roll the dice" on some Vegas Fries or cozy up with some Pigs n' a Blanket. Maybe if I bring enough of my friends I can try the Sampler! Also, I heard from a friend that if you go up to the bartender and say "I'll have the Mac & Cheese, Just like a-momma used to make" you get a free beer! I can't wait to try!!

Pros: Tater Tots!

Cons: None!

Nice for a Sports Bar

by angelic143

We tried The Hill on Monday night (trivia night). First of all, we thought it was still called DIP. The website needs to be altered. We started off with hummus which was excellent!! Oddly, they bought out our second appetizer (calamari) at the same time as the fondue. The calamari had a sweet & sour sauce for dipping but I think the appetizer would sell more if it was accompanied by a marinara or chipotle dipping sauce. As far as the fondue goes...it was incredibly watery. I felt horrible bc we had a friend come from NJ to meet us mainly for the fondue and it wasn't worth it. I'll go back again but maybe in a few months after things get straightened out. Or, perhaps we'll try it out for sporting events & happy hour. As for the positives: the waitress was a doll, the mojitos were tasty and management was attentive and interested in our comments.

Pros: Nice waitress, large selection of food & drinks and atmosphere

Cons: Horrible fondue

HORRIBLE service, HORRIBLE food....

by Claire333

I went to The Hill two weeks ago and I will never return. The only thing worse than the truly inedible food was the service. The waitress was one of the rudest waitresses I've ever had. With some many great places to go in Manhattan don't waste your time on this one.

Pros: None

Cons: Food, Service

Nice Spot

by nycbelle133

I went there this weekend to watch the game with friends who moved to the area.. There were so many bars to choose from but glad we chose this one.. we sat upstairs in the lounge type area which was great though wished we had sat downstairs.. the other girls and i all agreed that is where the action was (sea of guys), Next time we will go back with out the guy friends;-)
Our service was good, the food was a better than what i expected for a sports bar.. but then again this place did not really feel like a total sports bar.. the waitress told me that we should come back on a friday night and it is a great place to come and party.. may just have to take her word and come back considering what i saw this weekend.

Oh and btw to the person who said drinks were to strong.. are you kidding me.. that is a blessing most places pour them to weak and try to skimp on the proper serving in a drink.. next time; try stirring it before you drink it , a lot of times they float the alcohol on the mixer.

Pros: the atmosphere, drinks.

Girlfriend Friendly Sports bar

by bradley78

The Hill was close to one of the best things that have ever happened to me. i found a place that my girlfriend would actually go to that had sports playing and i didn't have to hear her complain about wanting to leave to go to a chick spot.. Thank You!! I got my wings she had her mini burgers . I walked in to a room of fellow sports aficianado's and it was like she did not even notice, she even agreed to go back. I officially have a place to go.

Pros: lot's of tv's, chick friendly,

Cons: fries

Worst Service

by KittyKathy20

I was just there last night for a friend's birthday and can I just say I have never been to a place that had such Horrible service. The hostess had no clue what she was doing, the drinks were TOO strong and the waitress ignored our table half the time. What we paid for last night was totally not worth it. Think twice before going.

Pros: The Food

Cons: Service

Over rated and over chargers

by jjs504

Fine atmosphere, but the service is horrible. They have overcharged three or my friends who have been there and myself as well. Watch your receipt, and make sure they don't double-swipe your card.
